But what he did after that is the story from tracking the deer, following the trail, to finding it went into the a pond, but as a true sportsman he did not stop until they got the deer out of the water and his brother said oh my look what we have here. Its a great story about deer hunting and never giving up. Then Trevor McKenny, a 21 year old student from McKendree University in southern Illinois who we mentioned last week won the Bassmaster College Bracket Tournament and will be fishing the Bassmaster Classic this march at 21 yrs old. He will also be fishing the Elite series next year and his degree is in Elementary Ed and will be a first grade teacher. The world is going to be in a good place with people like Trevor.

The first one Is Frank Giacomino 91 years young, who you may have seen in the papers holding a 3 .8-pound oyster mushroom he found. Frank at 91 years old is a sportsman who has all the get up and go of a man in his 40s. Were going to talk about that mushroom he found, but were also going to talk about what interests
him and how he would take the streetcar to Montrose Harbor to go perch fishing with his dad as a kid, and then walk the neighborhood were, he grew up picking mushroom on the park ways and in the alleys of Chicago and more. I just love this guy, you have to hear the love he has for the outdoors in his voice. Its a true Chicago Story and something you would hear around the campfire. Then Mark Kays from the Rend Lake area is going to tell us about one of his first jobs out of school was to be a laborer and help build Rend Lake. I mean from a creek to the 19,000 acre lake that it is today and the unbelievable crappie fishing we can experience at a little bit of heaven at exit 77 on Interstate 57, at enjoyrendlake.com

10/10 Chauncey's Great Outdoors
On this weeks Chaunceys Great Outdoors were going to hear from Ed Eisch he is a fisheries biologist for Michigan who is working with 40 organizations and getting a huge amount of support from the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians to reintroduce the artic grayling into some streams in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. The cool thing is they are native to Michigan. This will be an interesting conversation with Ed, Then the fall colors are popping out in Illinois, and Indiana but in full technicolor in Wisconsin. Sara Meany the Secretary of Tourism for Wisconsin will be coming on to talk about the many ways to enjoy the fall colors safely in Wisconsin. Through car trips, hike, boating and more. We will then have in the final segment, the ever-popular, Aiden Fishing Report, some outdoor news, and more all for you on Chaunceys Great Outdoors

On this weeks Chaunceys Great Outdoors were going to hear from Jim Chelsvig, yes thats the same Jim Chelsvig that came on our show for the forest preserves, but he is now retired and very busy teaching archery thru a number of different park districts. Then Mark Chalik from Bays Edge Town Homes in Port Clinton is coming on to tell us about the late season walleye and perch fishing on Lake Erie and how you can stay at Bays Edge, park the boat next to your beautiful town home, recharge your batteries, get your bait right there and be on the water in minutes. Were also going to call Capt. Tony because hes been popping real nice lake trout and he has an announcement he may be stretching out the season a little longer. They are a group that was founded on bringing kids along with their parents into the outdoor sports of hunting, fishing and more and getting the youth excited about more outdoor time then X Box time. We will also have the Aiden Fishing Report, outdoor news and more.

Then Logan McKenzie from Blarney Bassmasters and Anglers Choice Tournaments will tell us about a fund raising fishing tournament out of the Port of Blarney on Aug 29 that is being done to help raise cash for his co angler that had an accident and is paralyzed from the chest down and has a family and a lot of medical bills and even if you don't fish there will be one heck of a raffle that you can win prizes by purchasing raffle tickets that day the 29th at the Port of Blarney between 9 and 12 noon.
