‘Safe Relating’ by Sarah Waseem, UK
Perhaps one of the more controversial boundaries is the concept of purdah – the boundaries placed between men and women. Many opponents argue that the segregation of men and women disempowers women because it prevents them from fully integrating in society. When many European countries introduced niqab bans, they argued that these prevent true integration of women into society.

What if you woke up one morning and turned on the TV to find your Federal Health Minister making the following statement instead:
“We are praying and hoping that the Messiah will arrive before Passover, the time of our redemption. I am sure that the Messiah will come and bring us out as [God] brought us out of Egypt. Soon we will go out in freedom and the Messiah will come and redeem us from all the troubles of the world.”

Mexico – An Easter for the Ages by Sabahat Ali, Mexico City
For the first time in 177 years, the hugely populated borough of Iztapalapa in Mexico City will not burst into a live stage for thousands of Mexican Christians in full-fledged costume ready to re-enact each agonising detail of the famed passion of the Christ. From trails of fake blood to a gut-wrenchingly real nailing of one actor’s arms and legs to a cross, Easter in Mexico is a shock for the senses.

Why Muslims Pray 5 Times A Day by Azhar Goraya

Will Covid-19 end the capitalist bull run? by Ahmed Danyal Arif
While the coronavirus clearly triggered the economic meltdown, it would be an egregious error to solely attribute it to the virus itself. The losses to companies, many already saturated with debt, risk triggering a credit crunch of cataclysmic proportions.

“Separate venue, not value. Separate halls or marquees for women and for men, but the values are the same and the separate place has nothing to do with their teaching, their skills, their potential.”
