#200 Surf Coast Hell Run Preview

Surf Coast Hell Run is the newest mountain trail run on the Trailsplus calendar. Aptly named for the burning sensation your quad mucles will experience during the 1st, 2nd or 3rd descent depending on your chosen event. This week on The Partnerunning Show Race Director Brett Saxon tells us all about the Hell Run. The course is set in the majestic mountains at the back of the Seaside coastal town of Lorne along the great ocean road. It offers incredibly beautiful scenic mountain trails with challenging ascents for the first half on the easy to navigate teardrop shape course. Then the fun and fire begin as the speed increases and the breaking effects of the quad muscles start to glow red hot. Of course you could take the easy option and cruise on down but why not attack the long downhill section having endured the initial half of climbing to get there. 7km, 21 km, marathon and 63 km options are available. #197 A Framework For Sustainable Running Success

Injuries, lost MoJo, uncertainty, lack of confidence, competing commitments and reduced motivation are amongst the many reasons people give for giving up on running. From 5k to Ultramarathon many more complain of failing to achieve their goals or not gaining the satisfaction they desired. In this episode of The Partnerunning Show and after many years of study we outline a Framework for Sustained Running Success. Too often people focus on a poorly designed training program (or no program) and their event. Train and run is where all their attention goes and they fail to co-ordinate related running success activities. The result is injury, frustration and lost motivation. As part of the Framework for Sustained Running Success we look at: The Foundation of Running SuccessEvent PreparationRunning Results When implemented this approach allows runners to Act, Grow and Sustain which leads to life long running enjoyment.
