Do you find yourself complaining about the price of gas or rising grocery costs?

In today's clip from our Recovery Secrets daily coaching program, you’ll hear Brad and I talk about the foundations of boundaries. What a boundary is and isn’t, types of boundaries, and what needs to happen internally before you set any boundaries.

He‘s the epitome of what you should be striving for
Have you set your goals for 2022 yet?
Don't worry, I'm not here to criticize you if you haven't but 2022 is right around the corner...
While no one knows what it will hold for you, I do know one thing that's an absolute fact.
No goals = No Success
If you don't know where you're going, how are you going to get there?!
Today I'm bringing you another interview I did with one of my clients, Carlton. He is amazing. Specifically, his mindset and the way he takes the information he learns and makes it his own.
If you don't know who you want to be in 2022, I encourage you to watch our interview and model you're future mindset off of Carlton's.
Because it's people with mindsets like his that succeed on this journey.
The good news is that you don't have to be born or "blessed" with a mindset like this, it's something you create.
You can do this,
Kayleen
P.S. No one is born great or successful or anything like that. All the people that you think are successful and happy, are so because they've done the work to create the life they have.
It's hard work, but you can do it, I know you can :)

Mimi‘s Story Of Impossible Progress (Full Interview)
I'm coming to you today with something very near and dear to my heart...
PTSD is a very private journey and for most people so is healing, but in my life, I've never been more inspired than when listening to people share their stories
Which is why a few weeks ago I started a special project within my coaching community asking people to share their healing stories...
Tonight I'm honored to bring you Mimi's healing story You'll hear how Mimi's healing has impacted her business, relationships, mindset and find out how Mimi was able to make "impossible" progress after just weeks of coaching together
When you listen, I want you to see if you can find similarities between yourself and Mimi, you're not alone Mimi's not the only one that's made progress like this.
In weeks to come, I'll share more of these healing stories with you. Why?
I want you to see that people who heal aren't superhuman, we're just like you, and if we can do it, so can you...
You can heal. Just like Mimi is. And just like so many others have
You're not broken, you're not a lost cause, you're capable of more than you realize.
Hope you love it,

She was on 11 mental health medications, now she‘s on zero
On January 12th, 2021 at 1:42 PM something amazing happened...
After suffering with her PTSD for years, trying countless therapies and being on a cocktail of 11 mental health medications with no progress to show for it all...a woman named Bonnie decided something had to change
On that date at that exact time, Bonnie made a decision that would alter the course of her life forever.
She decided to take healing into her own hands and began coaching with us through our online PTSD recovery program. The result?
She fully recovered... in 10 months.
Bonnie was able to go from:
Feeling like a zombie with no energy
Not spending time with her family
Nonstop physical anxiety and chest pain
Taking 11 medications for her mental health
To:
Having the energy to pursue her hobbies
Spending and enjoying time with her family and laughing
No anxiety or chest pain
Taking ZERO mental health medications
and she was able to do all this in just over 10 months.
Bonnie is not superhuman though. She just worked her butt off, and followed the process.
That's something I know you can do too
You're not broken, you're not a lost cause, you CAN do this.
Hope you're as inspired as I've been by Bonnie,
Kayleen

Why you feel stuck in a constant loop of pain, even after decades of therapy
Have you ever wondered why no matter how hard you seem to work, or how many years you go to therapy, you still feel stuck?
I used to think about this all the time.
Because in theory... if you keep going to therapy and doing the work you should be making progress right?
If you're like many people you've been in therapy for months, years, or even decades with little or no results.
As someone that cares about you, I feel obligated to tell you: this is not okay.
Here's the jarring truth:
If you're not making progress, you should be. Week after week. Month after month.
So why are so many people stuck and not getting results?
The mental health system is focused on the fundamentally wrong thing.
In our podcast today we discuss *exactly* what this problem is and what YOU can do to change your journey if you're not getting results.
You should be making progress and getting closer to full recovery. If you're not we literally made this video just. for. you.
Take advantage of the pain we've been through to learn this information so we can save you decades of more running in circles with nothing to show for it.
You can heal.
You're not broken, you're not a lost cause, you're capable of more than you realize.
See you there,

What no one wants to tell you about healing PTSD - the shocking TRUTH
Have you ever wondered what life without PTSD would be like?
How things would be different for you if you could sleep through the night?
The love you and your partner would share without the lash outs and screaming matches?
When I still had PTSD I would think about things like this a lot... and I would always curse my PTSD for now allowing me to have the things I wanted...
All I wanted was a chance at the life I watched so many other "normal people" live... have you ever wanted that?
If you've ever felt this way, I have some really good news for you... My partner Brad and I just re-launched our podcast and that's *exactly* what we cover in this first episode.
We brought the podcast back because the truth is... there's a lot of REALLY bad advice out there.
You've probably come across it already.
Things like:
this is your "new normal"
you can't go back to who you were before
the only way to make things better is to learn how to cope
and so on...
The heartbreaking truth is, this false information is costing people their lives.
Brad and I do not want this to happen to you too... and that's why we brought the podcast back... so you don't have to lose everything because of bad advice.
Thanks for joining us for our first episode back!
Please, join us every Monday for new content and renewed hope!
The road to healing can be a lonely one, but it doesn't have to be. We're here with you and for you.
To your recovery,

PTSD Depression Masterclass - How To Beat PTSD Depression
Struggling with PTSD? Check out my 100% free and helpful training here: https://www.overcomingptsd.info/go
About a year ago I teamed up with The Mighty to put together a PTSD Depression Masterclass. The Masterclass went so well, I actually still use the exact training to show my clients how to beat PTSD Depression.
The reason I'm writing this is because since Covid-19 started, I've had a lot of people reach out for resources on depression.
People saying things like... "I feel more hopeless than ever" "I don't have energy to do even the most basic of things" and "I feel like I'm fighting myself everyday and I don't want to fight all the time"
If you feel this way the good news is you're not alone and I cover all of that in the Masterclass
Here's exactly what I cover:
• How to generate energy from thin air
• How to ensure you get out of bed every day
• How to build hope when all seems lost
• How to bring joy back into your life
• How to face the resistance of depression
I've been wanting to share this for a while but had to get a few "okay's" before I released it to the public
Watch The Mighty training to learn how you can beat PTSD Depression so you can stop fighting yourself and start living!
I believe in you always,
Kayleen
P.S.
Here's what one of my clients said about it just the other day in our Facebook community: "I started with the Relief tools section and I think it was in the Depression module...It made a huge difference! ...gradually it got easier and after a few days it felt good.
If you haven't tried these things, I encourage you to do so. They really work!"

How to know you're healing PTSD and not just coping
Struggling with PTSD? Check out my 100% free and helpful training here: https://www.overcomingptsd.info/go
Have you ever wondered if you're actually making progress on your recovery journey?
I know recovery can be a "one day at a time" process sometimes, but it's important to look up sometimes to see how far you've come and if you're even on the right track.
Today I put together a training encouraging you to do that and showing you what to look for...
Here's what I cover in the training:
- The difference between coping & healing
- 10 signs you're making progress (& what healing should look like)
- A common "trap" that leaves people almost healed & feeling stuck for years or even decades
The truth is, taking the time to reflect, and see how far I had progressed was a really important part of my recovery journey. It showed me how far I had come and allowed me to see if I was even on the right track still.
After all, you don't look at a compass once and then hope you're heading in the right direction for the rest of the trip. You check it again and again to make sure you're on track, and if you're not correct your course.
PTSD is no different!

Broken to Unbreakable Live Q&A - How To Ensure You're Not Falling into a PTSD Recovery Trap
Struggling with PTSD? Check out my 100% free and helpful training here: https://www.overcomingptsd.info/go
Have you ever felt like I did on my recovery?
For me, recovery felt like I was working really hard to heal and get better but no matter how hard I tried I always ended up getting hurt or self sabotaging in the end. I couldn't figure out why I kept ending up back in the same spot day after day and year after year.
I felt trapped.
If you've felt this way too, you're not alone. Years ago I found out that a lot of people feel this way too... So many in fact that I had to make the solution part of my PTSD recovery program - Broken to Unbreakable
Today I want to share something really special with you...
How to get out of this trap and make real true progress In one of my Broken to Unbreakable live community Q&A's recently, I extensively covered 2 worksheets that I have all my clients complete to get out of this trap.
These are the foundational actions you need to take to solve this problem.
Here's what they are:
"The Commitment Contract" - How to use the forces of pain and pleasure to work for you instead of against you
"Designing Your Recovery Hero" - How to be intentional about who you're becoming to ensure you don't end up "trapped" in PTSD forever I'm even going to share the actual worksheets so you can download them and take action on them yourself. (links below) Remember that action is the most important part of the recovery journey.
I believe in you always,
Kayleen

Q&A With Brad And Kay For NY Times Article On PTSD

Here's an interview we did for a potential NY Times article about PTSD the end of last year.
We talked about our history with PTSD, our family upbringing, our favorite books, and what we think needs to be done with the mental health industry as a whole.
Pretty interesting stuff!
Here's what we were asked:
1. Can you please tell me a little more about yourselves and how you came into each other’s lives? What are your interests, quirks and hobbies? (You can be sure I will ask a more specific question to learn more about you during each interview.) I would love to know more about you, your separate individual answers as well as your unified answer as a couple.
2. What are your family backgrounds like? Do you believe your history and child development to be relevant to your experiences with PTSD?
3. Was vulnerability a part of your family units? What might you have to say about what you learned emotionally from others as a young person?
4. What are your favorite/top ten books, articles, media (in that order) that have influenced your coaching practice and your understanding of healing PTSD?
5. Have you heard of trauma-informed education? If so, can you please let me know where you heard about this, how this applies to your work or personal experiences and what resources you recommend?
6. What can you share with me about your coaching practice? What is the nature of your work, how do you reach people, and who are your clients?
7. If you entered into my position as a photojournalist this week, what provocative questions might you ask from your depth of knowledge in the field?
I hope you enjoy the interview!

"My Dr./Therapist/Psychologist/Psychiatrist told me MY PTSD is impossible to heal and I'll have to live like this forever"
I hear this way too often and on this episode of PTSD TV Brad and I debunk this harmful myth and show you that no matter what you've been told before, it IS possible to heal PTSD.
Being told it's impossible for you to heal is one of the most dangerous things to be told about recovery, but it could also be the very thing that pushes you to full recovery...
You read that right... being told something like this is typically a make or break point in someones recovery journey. All too often it's a breaking point, but with the right mindset it's a making point.
In this episode Brad and I bust this harmful myth so you can move forward with your recovery even if you've been told your situation is hopeless and you just have to learn to live like this.

"The healing journey itself should not be traumatic."
On this episode of PTSD TV Brad and I talk about another big myth that blocks a lot of people from recovery... The belief you have to remember or relive trauma to heal.
I'll let you know right now that that's not the truth.
But if you feel this way, you're not alone.. This is a myth that personally stopped my recovery journey in its tracks more than a few times.
This myth stops a lot of people from seeking help for this PTSD because that either don't even know where they'll start on their healing journey or are too afraid that they'll have to go through everything all over again to make any progress...
In this episode Brad and I bust this harmful myth so you can move forward with your recovery even if you don't remember what hurt you.

PTSD MYTH #3: "My alphabet soup makes it impossible to heal my PTSD"
Book a FREE PTSD recovery consultation with our team here: https://www.overcomingptsd.info/call
Today Brad and I talk about another big myth that blocks a lot of people from recovery...
The belief that other things in their life block them from healing. We lovingly call it "alphabet soup".
PTSD, CPTSD, PNES, BPD, GAD, etc. are all labels that can seriously hut someones chances at full recovery...
This tricky because PTSD is on of the most misdiagnosed things in the field of mental health...
If your misdiagnosed, how are you going to know what help you really need!?
You'll likely end up confused and feeling stuck with a lack of direction and not knowing where to turn or what to do. In this episode Brad and I bust this harmful myth for you and give you some incredible steps to move forward without even having a "diagnosis"!
Hope you enjoy the episode!

PTSD MYTH #2: "My Trauma Is DIFFERENT, I Can't Heal"
Today Brad and I talk about another big myth that blocks a lot of people from recovery... The belief that their trauma is different (not as bad or worse than others) and therefore can't heal.
This is an especially tricky one because if you think your trauma is not as bad as someone else's you could be telling yourself...
"WOW what I went through wasn't nearly as bad as that person's, I don't really have anything to complain about..."
And if you think like this you're not going to do the things you need to do to heal. You'll likely just think that you need to "get over it", stop complaining, and move on with life.
And if you think that your trauma is worse than someone else's trauma you could be telling yourself...
"Yeah, well you could heal, but what I went through was MUCH worse than what you went through..."
And again you would prevent yourself from healing because you'll think that you are too broken to heal. So in this episode Brad and I break this harmful belief for you and give you some incredible steps to move forward without this negative internal talk!
Hope you enjoy the episode!

PTSD MYTH #1: It's impossible to heal PTSD, it changes your brain.
Welcome to our first PTSD Myth Marathon episode! Myth #1 is: It’s impossible to heal because PTSD changes your brain.
Brad and I are going to go through the top 13 or so myths about PTSD that cause people to feel hopeless and out of control.
The first PTSD myth we cover is one that I hear ALL the time from people who have PTSD, “Its impossible to heal because PTSD changed my brain and is permanently damaged”.
This myth is particularly dangerous because it’s actually half true!
If you have heard this myth, or believe in this myth, then this episode will really help you break that limiting belief. And thinking that PTSD changes your brain is a major limiting belief that might even be the reason why you feel hopeless or why you’ve given up on trying to heal.
In order to move forward with your healing you must learn how to identify these false beliefs and myths about PTSD, or else they could drag you down into a dark hopeless hole… a place where I’ve been before, but not a place you need to be.
So I hope this episode helps give you some valuable insight into your recovery journey!
And if you liked this make sure to stay tuned for the rest of the series where we uncover even more myths that could be holding you back from full recovery!

STOP Trying To Heal Your Relationship From PTSD | PTSD TV Relationships
When you have 2 hurt people coming together trying to solve problems nothing gets better...
Usually things end up worse...more fights, holes in walls, and closed off hearts.
It's because 99% of people focus on healing their relationship...and this is all wrong!
Things don't get better until you heal each individual. You need to spend more time fixing YOU than trying to fix your relationship.
Be honest, how much time are you spending on healing YOU?
If you're like me and Brad were, it's almost 0% of the time. Most of people's time is usually spend on running from their problems rather than facing them.
Today Brad and I talk about this key lesson that we learned the hard way and we hope that you can avoid the painful moment that we went through.

How To Use Your "Built In Success Mechanism" To Recover From PTSD | PTSD TV Book Club
Today Brad and I talk about the book "Psycho Cybernetics" and how you can program your mind for full recovery from PTSD.
Your mind is like a machine, one that automatically strives to achieve any goal it's fed. The problem here is that most of us feed our minds with negative goals through worry and "worst case scenario" thinking.
PTSD causes most people to spiral down with negative thoughts and images. It's these things that program our mind for failure...we end up optimizing to fail and our negative thinking patterns turn into a self fulfilling prophecy.
We teach you simple techniques that you can implement TODAY to start programming your mind for success!
Here's what we're covering:
1 - The self image...how you see yourself
2 - Your built in success (or failure) mechanism
3 - How to program your built in success mechanism with visualization

Do you feel like you do everything for your partner, but they don't even appreciate it?
This comes from a lack of perspective...let me explain...
You and your partner accept love in different ways, and the way you accept and give love may not be the way your partner accepts and gives love.
Today Brad and I walk you through a book called "The 5 Love Languages" by Gary Chapman.
This book can help you rekindle real deep connection within your relationship...which is something very hard to come by when you're in a PTSD relationship.
We also uncover how to use this newfound clarity and understanding to connect with other non-romantic relationships so you can build deep meaningful relationships with others you care about!

What's PTSD V.s. What's Human PTSD TV Friday Q&A
What is YOU and what is PTSD?
It seems like a never ending internal battle between you and your PTSD...
I used to always ask myself...
"Why do I always lash out at Brad, the love of my life?"
I could never understand why I was so angry, sad, frustrated, and scared all the time.
It was like I had these two internal forces inside of me fighting to the death.
One side wanted to be kind and loving...it wanted to hold Brad close and tell him how much he meant to me.
And the other side was just pure rage and wanted to pick fights...it wanted to find everything wrong in EVERY situation and make life a living hell.
Why did this happen?
Why did I have these two sides inside of me constantly fighting each other?
These questions caused me so much confusion, guilt, and pain.
I felt like I was this good person, but I would always do bad things that hurt the people I loved...
Things didn't start to change for me until I realized this...
I learned how to separate myself from my PTSD.
I learned about these two conflicting forces inside of me...
I learned that part of me was PTSD and everything that part of me did came from a place of terror and extreme pain.
And the other part of me was the true me and everything this part did came from a place of love and acceptance.
I discovered what was truly me, and what was PTSD...
Listen...
You are NOT a bad person.
It's not your fault that you hurt and lash out at the ones you love.
You went through an extreme amount of pain, and PTSD is the result of that pain.
Realize that PTSD comes from pain, and the part of you that's angry, sad, and scared is just craving to be loved and accepted by YOU.
PTSD is just a part of you that's hurt, a part that's in need of help, love, and healing.
Once I realized this the battle inside me calmed.
I was able to see myself for who I really was, and was able to understand why I did everything I did.
It wasn't because I was a bad person, it was just because I was hurt.
And the same thing goes for YOU.
I don't want you to hurt the love of your life in the way I hurt Brad...
I want to help you to heal your relationship and your PTSD once and for all...
I want you to feel love again.
If you want to learn how Brad and I were able not only recover from PTSD, but repair and heal our relationship then I have something for you.
I just finished creating a free video case study to show you how we did it.
Here's the link to the free video - https://www.overcomingptsd.info/love
In the video I show you 3 things..
1 - 3 indicators that your relationship is in danger and needs help right now
2 - Why 70% of PTSD relationships end in breakup or divorce
3 - How to save the love of your life and end the pain for good
And at the end of the case study you'll get the opportunity to schedule a call with me or Brad to see if we can help you repair your love and your relationship for good.
