An incredible cast gets discussed by an incredible cast. This week, the MOTM show, a Birthday gift for Richard and a new film for three of the guests. It's a Western, but not in a style you are likely to have seen before. The Quick and the Dead features a bucket load of character actors and everybody pretty much gets a death scene. Our show cast indulges in Hackman Love, Silvestri Admiration, and wanting a Leone sized version of a Sam Rami film. We also have some thoughts on the Oscar show, and a game that will make you look around for the meatballs. 

Forget the T.S. Eliot poem that suggests the world ends with a whimper, Roland Emmerich insists that it ends with a "BANG!" and he has made more than a half dozen movies to prove it. This week on the Lambcast, the guests review the newest of his disaster films "Moonfall". We also lookback at a long string of Emmerich films, most of which are variations on some kind of disaster. What can you expect from the show?, death, destruction, tidal waves, and plot twists that are batphooey insane. 

So we tried something a little different on the show this week. It's a small group, just talking without much of an agenda. We discuss January Film releases which are usually a travesty, and we found plenty of those, but we also uncovered a few nuggets of gold amongst all the garbage. Todd, Tyler and Richard have a great time wandering down memory lane and throwing rocks at the same time. Come have a listen and see if January will still leave you down, you might be surprised. 

It's been nearly a year since we had a Draft show and since January is a slow period in the cinemas, it seemed a good time for some alternative programming. The last actor draft we did was an update on Tom Hanks, but this time we are looking at the other side of the aisle, an acclaimed performer who has a resume to make the argument that she is the G.O.A.T. Meryl Streep. With an astounding 21 Academy Award Nominations, it is easy to say she is widely respected and talented, so what did our group of guests think and what are their favorites. We did nothave a lot of shows in the last two months, devoted to single films. That means that the prestige films and holiday releases might go unmentioned. This week the Lambs examine the new Spider-Man film "No Way Home" in some detail, in a spoiler filled edition of the Lambcast. After we get that squared away, there is an elaborate discussion of all the stand alone films in the Spider-Man Universe. Continuing our long tradition of non-traditional Christmas films, Heather Baxendale-Walsh hosts the discussion of her winning entry in the MOTM December poll "L.A. Confidential".  Off the record, on the QT, and very hush-hush.  

When you are actually talking about food, it is easy to spot: a burger, a slice, meat and potatoes, a piece of pie. When you are talking about movies, it gets more complicated. Video Comfort Movies could be as varied as any menu in the world. Movie fans find comfort in the strangest things. Some people want to curl up with Freddy Kruger or Jason Voorhees and get cozy. Others want to watch their favorite James Bond film for the 114th time. Many will head to the far East to pig out on Samurai or Kung Fu films, others revert to the past and swim in nostalgia for the Golden Age of Hollywood. I suppose it also depends on what you are trying to escape by seeking out Comfort Food. Did you just have a long day and need to relax? We tried a new format this week, with a substitute host and some open ended directions, the result...was actually terrific. Our guests pick some nostalgia filled films and some classics to make up their top ten lists of films released in the holiday periods of the 1990s. These are not necessarily Christmas films (and for the most part they are not) but rather films that made an impact on our LAMBs in those release windows. 35 films got mentioned by six Lambs (Richard joined by Proxy) and in spite of Howard's best efforts we still had a film or two that made everyone's list. Frank Herbert's landmark Science Fiction Novel arrives in a new version from Director Denis Villeneuve. This highly anticipated film is only part one of the novel, so the question behind a lot of our discussion this week concerns whether Part 2 will be needed. Sixty percent of the original guests had to be replaced with only Forty percent of the spots being filled. The October MOTM is a Sci-Fi/Horror film championed by Lisa LeaHeey. She hosts as the five of us search for a solution to the problem of what to watch on streaming this week.

The Movie of the Month winner was "The Orphanage" championed by Lisa LeaHeey but Tropical Storm/Hurricane Henri kept her from hosting so Howard Casner took over hosting duties and did a great job covering this film for the Lambcast. Is it really a horror film, the guests have their doubts and Lisa may wish even more that she had been on the show.

Movie of the Month, and it seems appropriate that this is a monthly feature given our film. Ginger Snaps is a horror film that ties two curses into one. The big holiday blockbuster for this summer July 4 is not in theaters but on Amazon Prime. In keeping with the subject, we have a Fast show for you this week. It's also a bit over the top as our guests sometimes are furious but mostly delighted by the nonsense that this franchise has become. The odds that you will like the show are astronomical.

The name's cast, Lambcast, licence to discuss movie franchises.We're taking inspiration from ourselves, namely how we split up the Harry Potter franchise last year, and chopping up the James Bond movies into six chunks, which we'll hit at a leisurely pace over the next year. Worry not dear flock, for though it was not technically intended for that celebration we have decided to mark the occasion with what is easily the most ambitious, and ultimately most time-consuming to edit Lambcast show in the history of the LAMB, it's our 400th Show Spectacular!We couldn't decide on just one topic for this show, so we opted to commemorate the occasion by discussing pretty much everything in our worlds of film. So this show isn't just a Movie of the Month, it's not simply a Draft, it's not limited to just being a game of Lambpardy, no it's everything, all packed into one show.
