The Jerry Springer Podcast: Tales, Tunes and Tomfoolery is a weekly mix of comedy, liberal political talk and roots music performed by up and coming song writers and groups. Jerry is joined by Jene Galvin and Megan Hils as they compare their dissimilar lives, convo about events of the day and occasionally welcome a phone guest, some real and others you wonder. Like State Senator Tip Kemper, who recently proposed a literacy bill requiring citizens to read a book a month and submit a written report to the government at the post office. But in the middle of each episode, Jerry shows his serious side with a unique take on a current political or social issue drawing from his years as Cincinnati's mayor and top ranked news anchor. Performed before a small audience at the Folk School Coffee Parlor in Ludlow, Kentucky, The Jerry Springer Podcast is live streamed at jerrryspringer.com and Facebook Live and archived on the podcast's website and all major podcast apps.

Trump is Putin's Mouthpiece: Ep. 171
Jene again suggests that Jerry, Megan and he should do something “remarkable” for society together. So he suggests having some guests who can show them the way. The show will soon feature Jerome Pilette, who is riding his bike from Quebec to the tip of Argentina, and Harvey Lewis, who is - as we speak - close to finishing a run of the Appalachian Trail in near-record time. Tonight, via satellite phone from his twenty-foot row boat in the middle of the stormy Atlantic Ocean, we’ll talk for a few minutes with Bryce Carlson, a teacher from Cincinnati’s Seven Hills School. He is their rowing coach and a former crew member at the University of Michigan. And boy, will he need everything he knows -- He’s already lost his sea anchor, flooded his laptop and broke his boat’s dagger board in several gales that caused him to capsize.Carlson is about 700 miles from Newfoundland, rowing alone to Penzance, England, trying to become the first American to make the trip. Should he finish in fewer than 55 days, it'd be a world record. Good thing we're stopping him to talk to us, right? Then, Jerry exposes Trump as a mouthpiece for Russian president Vladmir Putin. Would Jerry join him the next time, riding, talking, telling stories around the campfire?Jene talks with Jerry about the idea of “Concrete Football,” a concept seen in the Netflix documentary of the same name. In the wake of the World Cup, is soccer another economic pathway for urban kids who have relatively fewer opportunities? Then Jerry investigates Trump's foreign policy, specifically his recent meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Jerry Announces He's Retiring After 27 Years From The Jerry Springer Show: Ep. 169
The Jerry Springer Show started in 1991, and is the second longest running daytime talk show next to Phil Donahue. Although the show will continue to air, what's in store for what Jerry may do next?Jene talks about how this Jene Genkins guy, testing the senate waters in Kentucky, is copying off a political candidate we've had on the show before, State Senator Tip Kemper for daring political ideas.Jerry’s Take: A compassionate society shouldn't weaponize children by taking them away from their families. How can pro-family groups continue to support Trump when he and Jeff Sessions implemented this policy? Now there will be lawsuits because even though they're allowing the families to stay together, you can't keep a child in jail for more than twenty days. Jerry is something of a savant - at least when it comes to US Presidents and Yankees history. This leads to a suggestion from Jene that they should all play HQ with Jerry at their side to see what happens. Then, Jerry digs in on the confusion with North Korea this week. As the summit between the US and North Korea becomes more tenuous, what is the stage of the relationship, and what's next for the two countries - and the world? Then we get a phone call from Susie Sampson, who proposes that show ditches Denise Compton for her as our conservative correspondent. She claims she can guide the panel, lobbyist style, through the shark-infested waters of haters who are hellbent on taking down the podcast. Jerry explains how, in the 20th Century, the most cultured and educated society in western civilization fell to the Nazi Hitler regime and how America must be cautious about a similar fate. Also, Jerry gives his thoughts on the death of Phyllis Schlafly, who will be remembered as an opponent to the equal rights movement. Music: Rubber Knife Gang Hosted on Acast. Jerry talks about his experience with that group, which flew him and his colleagues to the Middle East to gain political experience. Then Jene, who served on an Ohio board of elections for a number of years, which are made up of a balanced number of Republicans and Democrats, will talk about the absurdity of Trump claiming American elections can be rigged. Jerry discusses how America can only be destroyed from within and how Trump in many ways is trying to do just that. Then Jerry wonders: With falling poll numbers, could Trump actually step aside? Are there historic precedents for this kind of thing? Finally, Jene asks Jerry if an American president has ever told him he’s watched the Jerry Springer Show. Right now there is no Republican Party. Next, a Southern conservative named Susie Sampson calls in to sing God Bless America with Jerry. Susie screws up the words. Then Jerry gives it a shot. Like, who got blessed with downtown hotels? Jene will reveal. Then they discuss a S.O.S tracking device where Jerry's movements could be tracked. Jerry’s Rant: Hillary and the FBI interrogation. The pro's and con's of HRC's FBI decision that she didn't do anything illegal with her email. And, how Donald Trump is unstable, and why people want to vote for him. America is the Statue of Liberty and not the wall. Jene gets Jerry to tell about the time he was anchoring the news and his planned commentary (He did closing editorials when he was news anchor of the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati) caused management to panic and pull it from the teleprompter. What Jerry did next was really interesting. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Happy Birthday, Jene: Ep. 65
Jene pulls out a Jerry Springer CD, one from a box he has had in storage in his garage for several years. David plays “There Ain’t No Trash in My Trailer (track 11).” Jerry tells the story of how that CD came about and the time he performed in some casinos singing songs from that CD. Jene will be departing in the near future on a trip to Idaho on his birthday, so there won’t be a chance for the podcast family to give him his proper birthday wishes. So maybe tonight would be a good time for everyone to sing him happy birthday. Jerry’s Rant: Why Donald Trump is dangerous for America? Jene and Megan ask Jerry about the slogan he ended newscasts with when anchoring the news and now uses on his TV show. Where did it come from? We then get Jerry to tell the story about the time he refused to do his news commentary because of threatened management censorship.Musical guest: Rondstadt Generations Hosted on Acast. Megan tells how we use his cell phone for some podcast social media tasks, that Jerry's made his password 1234. Then when he realized how stupidly predictable that was, he changed it to A, B, C, D. Jene tells the story about how he’s so cheap he once got electric fencing for his dog from a low-price bootleg company that conditioned his dog to its jarring shock in three painful seconds. Jerry’s Rant: Can Trump be given the nuclear codes? Jene asks Jerry to talk about his recent trip back to Kew Gardens with his old buddies from childhood.Musical Guest: Grant Peeples Hosted on Acast. Is Jerry Responsible for Donald Trump? Ep. 58
State Senator Tip Kemper calls in with another outrageous proposal. Next, Jene wonders if Jerry -- the father of reality and modern talk television -- should be held responsible for the rise and national obsession with Donald Trump. Jene proposes that Megan sign up for J Date, the Jewish online dating service. He asks Jerry and Megan to role-play what a phone call would sound like if they had exchanged numbers through the website service. Then, Jerry refutes the idea that America is falling apart -- a often-repeated refrain from today's politicians. During the 60's with Vietnam and civil rights unrest America was actually falling apart -- with leaders like J.F.K, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Medgar Evers, and others being assassinated -- but we made it through that, too.Musical Guest: Full Moon Ranch Hosted on Acast. (Remember, team, what is said in Cuba STAYS in Cuba!) -Jerry said to a ranking government official at dinner, “You want some?” -Jerry singing "I Saw Her Standing There" on the Malecon Wall with a crowd gathering to hear but no one knowing he’s a US celebrity. He earned their love with talent. -The “ranking govt. official “ who told us at dinner about being jailed, tortured and exiled by Batista for 11 days before returning when the revolution was won and Fidel, Che, Raul and others paraded into Havana victorious, and going sleepless for 8 days among a jubilant celebration. -Realizing that music is the universal language. Do Presidential Debates Matter? Episode 55
Jene reads several new emails from listeners, and one cites Jerry’s lack of new jokes. Jene calls Jerry's assistant, Jenna, and asks if she could add one new job to her list of responsibilities: printing a good joke for Jerry each Tuesday. Please, Jenna. Our listeners are begging you. Speaking of jokes, Jene reads the punchlines of several fantastic jokes. The other parts of the jokes are unspeakably inappropriate for our show and won’t be revealed. Jerry goes in depth about how the questions posed to presidential candidates are not the same as the decisions a president has to face. Therefore, how they do in a debate isn't necessarily an indicator of how good of a president they'll be.Our musical guest is Easy Tom Eby. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
