The FuthaMuckin' Dante Nero Episode
This week Dean tosses it up with his shark tooth earring wearing homie, comedian Dante Nero aka Beige Phillip. Dante has an amazing story that began in Brooklyn living in the shadow of his Basketball legend Dad to studying genetic engineering in college, only to end up in the world of male strippers under the moniker, Mandingo. Somehow Dante maneuvered running an escort service into planting his feet in the comedy world and eventually becoming close with Patrice O'neal. What was expected to be a quick episode, turned into a welcome discussion of philosophy, psychology, the science of comedy and comics' blended influences (which is fascinating). We In The Building!

Jackson) and walk you through the anatomy of good impressions vs. 'hacky' impressions before explaining how to approach presenting them for a sketch tv show audition. It's a great inspirational story for anyone hoping for their 'big break' and hopefully you dig it. Oh yeah: And Simon Cowell gave him a standing ovation on AGT. Haha

The FuthaMuckin' Tim Homayoon Episode- ROAD WARRIOR SESSIONS, Vol. #15
What kind of kid takes a public speaking class and gets reprimanded by his teacher for doing a "NURSING HOME STRIPPER" bit? Tim Homayoon. What kind of a person gets booed 3 times in a day but continues to pursue comedy afterwards? Tim Homayoon. What kind of a comic doesn't want coffee, but still might smash? Well, that's probably most, but Tim Homayoon WAS that guy and has stories for days.
He's a funny comic that came out of Long Island under Kevin James and Adam Ferrara and an even more hilarious guy to talk to and his honest stories will leave you in stitches. From being an Iranian-Norwegian who forgets to rub the log at the Apollo Theater to becoming "The Don Juan of AOL" 20 years before Tinder, this episode is hilarity. If you only listen to hear his story about the demanding Latina mother that told him what their date would consist of or a porn actress wiping her vibrator across his face during a tv shoot, you'll be glad you stuck around to hear it. Sit back and listen to the adventures as the former "ONLINE PIMP" goes down memory lane of some of his successes, some of his failures, and a bit of redemption. This is comedy. Happy Holidays.

The FuthaMuckin' Rich Aronovitch Episode: ROAD WARRIOR SESSIONS, Vol. #14
Comedy is tragedy. As most comics do, Rich Aronovitch has turned his calamities into humor. SMOOTH DADDY JOHNSON. What's in a name? Ask Smooth Daddy Johnson aka Rich Aronovitch. Dean spent a week at sea with Rich and although they've been Kool for years, they finally got to KNOW each other. Only a future comic could go away to camp in their youth and kill at a talent show. Only a comic of mettle could endure Hurricane Katrina and losing a family business and maintain such positive energy. The FuthaMuckin' Ricky Rogue - 2016 Episode
Minutes before recording the final TFP episode of 2016, I learned that comedian/actor, Ricky Harris passed away. This episode was supposed to be dedicated to my fawning over the movie, "ROGUE ONE", but instead, I reflect and fawn over Ricky Harris' contribution to comedy and entertainment. He was one of the first Kats from Def Comedy Jam that made me fall over laughing. I recall rewinding his bits on VHS amazed at how creative and funny and physical he was. I dedicated the first section of this episode to him. Then, after sharing my thoughts on what type of year 2016 has been vs. what 2017 will be, I offer my view and review of "ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY". Rest in Peace, Ricky Harris and George Michael. Here's to a brighter 2017. We in the Building, son!

In this first conversation with Dean on #TFP, he shares his honest feelings about NYC becoming less artistic, gentrification and reminisces on the New York comedy scene when he first arrived here, back in the '87. "SHUT UP, STUPID!" It’s always a blast when Dean's comic friends come through, and this is one of the funniest. Keith "Pudgum" Robinson has been a comedian since the Reagan era. He began performing in his bedroom in the projects of South Philly and along the way he's always focused on 'making his own way'. When opportunities were denied, he and his Comedy Express created their own breaks. From Black rooms in Philly, to rooming with Wanda Sykes and even thinking that Sinbad and Jay Leno were beneath him when he first began, Keith has seen a lot. He's also helped and mentored many comics when they first began, from Kevin Hart to Big Jay Oakerson and even Dean himself. He joins Dean in the living room to give him a good bashing as they reminisce on their history from Dean's Mount Rushmore of weddings to discovering gray hair at Patrice O'neal's cookout. The FuthaMuckin' Sydney Castillo Episode
You may know Sydney Castillo already. If you don't yet, you will. He won the inaugural season of Marlon Wayans' comedy competition, "FUNNIEST WINS" on TBS. He was hand picked by Keenen Ivory Wayans to be a cast member for the "IN LIVING COLOR" reboot that stalled before it made it to the air. He even had aspirations to move to Hollywood from Ft. Worth, Texas to take the MODELING world by storm. Yes, you read that correctly. He 100% believed that he might be the next Tyson Beckford. Sydney is driven to succeed and has the talent to continue making his dreams a reality, even as an outspoken advocate for people with "Regular Bodies". Between Ian Edwards, Chris Spencer, Dean and even Kev Hart, he's had some stern mentors in comedy who always pushed him to focus and work harder. The FuthaMuckin' Impression Episode
"DO DENZEL!" Dean hears it often. "DO THAT IMPRESSION OF _____!" Every comic that happens to do an impression well has heard it... and they loathe it...or do they? It's nice to be known for something. Anything. After an interesting convo with friend and fellow comedian, Marina Franklin, Dean pulls back the curtain on what it's like to do an impression so well that it becomes a standard that people expect and begin to request. And what the heck is "cryptomnesia"?
For every comic, fan of comedy or just the lay person that wondered what goes on in the mind of comedians that straddle the line between impressions & characters vs. straight jokes & monologists, this is the episode you've been waiting to hear. We are in The Building, son!
