Section 1 of our constitution declares our nation to be sovereign democratic state. This declaration only has meaning when citizens of this country resolve themselves to defend our democracy. Section 1 seeks to raise awareness of issues which may threaten our democracy and to become a vehicle for the preservation, promotion and protection our democracy.
