Floyd resigns as EC president; Committee on Cooperation named
SBC Executive Committee President Ronnie Floyd announced he would be leaving the EC at the end of October. Also, the Committee on Cooperation members have been named by Rolland Slade and the Sex Abuse Task Force.
The SBC Executive Committee finalized a contract with Guidepost Solutions to begin work on an independent review of the EC. Also, there is some great news about giving around the SBC.
The SBC Executive Committee met for five hours on Tuesday, but ultimately agreed on no concrete action, instead opting for another 7-day extension to negotiate a deal with the Sex Abuse Task Force. Also, there is reason to celebrate as CP giving topped $2 billion since its inception 96 years ago.
The SBC Executive Committee met this week in Nashville and conducted business. Among the items approved as a $500,000 authorization for legal fees as it begins its independent review with GuidePost Solutions. Also, NAMB president Kevin Ezell announced that the all-time AAEO giving total has surpassed $2 billion.
