Finding the “More” of God
What does it look like to hunger for more of God? What holds us back from the more of God? God has been convicting me to intentionally press into the "more" that He has to offer. I have wanted to go deeper, but He is talking about the intentionality it takes to truly go deeper with Him. We have yet to explore new depths, and there is an open invitation to go deeper in this season. Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-3, 12-13 For additional information, visit Ruthhendrickson.org. Removing Barriers to the Flow of Living Water in Your Life
When a stream has a blockage, it cannot flow as it was designed. Jesus tells us in John 7 that out of the believer's heart should flow rivers of living water. This river impacts your life, the atmosphere around you, and the lives of others also. However, when there is a blockage, you cease to have the kingdom impact God intends for you. Today, we will look at several contributors to the blockage and learn how to get rid of the blockage so the living water can flow clean, powerfully, and purely in your life. Is Your God Holy?
Is your God holy or familiar? What difference does it make? How do the fear of the Lord and the holiness of God go hand-in-hand? In Matthew 6, as Jesus teaches the disciples to pray, he speaks of the holiness of God. When we become too familiar with God we can lose the holy aspect of His nature. However, when we grow in our understanding of the holiness of God our relationship with Him deepens in ways we never envisioned. Jesus, Demons and You
Why did Jesus usually not allow the demons to speak? Because Jesus didn't need the same camp that he was sent to plunder to become his public relations committee. Often, the church gets sidetracked by the demonic antics that come with deliverance. What can we learn from Jesus' interaction with the demons in Mark 1? Silencing Fear
What would change in your life if you genuinely believed that God is always with you? How would this impact how you respond to the fear that swirls around? The world around us wants us to walk in an element of fear. The challenge with fear is that it will keep us from the fullness of our relationship with God. Fear will cause us to become powerless and abort the wonders of the Kingdom of Heaven. In Psalm 34, we are reminded that we seek God; he answers and delivers. In the book of Matthew, we have Jesus calming a storm and the disciples trying to figure out who he is. In 2 Kings, we meet a servant who needed his vision refocused to see from the supernatural rather than the earthly perspective. Each of these passages contains key components or lessons we need to grab ahold of to eradicate fear from our lives. Little faith allows fear to storm our gates. Great faith drives fear away and allow us to live in peace with heavenly wisdom and insight. Which do you prefer? God, Can You Really Do This?
Do you struggle with your faith? It is okay to admit that walking in the fullness of faith can be a challenge. All of us have seasons of doubt and levels of unbelief. What causes seasons of little faith? What makes us question if God is real or if He can do something? Demonic encounters can shake our faith to the core. Crisis and loss can overwhelm our faith as we try to catch our next breath. Unanswered prayers can steal faith away, as can attempting to walk in the signs, wonders, and miracles as God tells us to bring Heaven to earth. We will tackle this subject by learning from the father of the demon-possessed boyo in Mark 9. This is an episode that will strengthen your faith and encourage you to grow, even in the midst of the questions. Get ready to grow! What Is the Church Shouting to the World?
What is the church shouting to the world? What are you shouting to the world? The church of Jesus Christ should herald the heart of Jesus, which longs to receive sinners into His family. Those who come to Him will not be cast out! But no religious elite should feel smugly comfortable in the church. Keys: Crowds hang around Jesus - come and go. Disciples are called to follow Jesus, obey, and grow. Be careful never to judge to be unclean what Jesus had declared to be clean. Do not assume a new believer automatically knows how to live by Christ's standards. Walking with Jesus is a process of growth. Your Vision Matters
How do you view life? What is the call on your life? How do you evaluate that call? In the early 1900s, a shepherd had an assignment and a vision. His little, daily action steps changed the atmosphere of his neck of the woods. His work didn't look large or daunting. Literally, he planted one seed at a time as he executed his vision. He knew many seeds would not survive, but that didn't change his determination. When God gives us a vision, it can look daunting. However, the steps to get to the fulfillment of that vision can seem insignificant. We must remember that tiny steps, infused by the power of the Holy Spirit, have an exponential outcome. Discovering God’s Strategy for a New Season
Are you in a new season of your life? It can be challenging to find your footing with God when you enter a new season, by our choose, or by life events. Merry Christmas! Building a Powerful Treasure Chest Within
As you go through your day, what holds your mind captive? Have you made your list, checked it twice, and come up missing a gift or two? Or are you busy planning the menu and cleaning the house? For some, you are missing loved ones, and your thoughts are filled with grief as you move step-by-step to a holiday without them. Whatever holds your thoughts captive ultimately holds you captive. This time of year, I often ponder what Mary was thinking as she journeyed to giving birth to Jesus, holding her Savior in her arms, and the things she observed along the way. From the kicking baby to pattering feet, from shepherds and wise men to prophetic words. Scripture tells us that her heart became a treasure trove of wonderment of God. What are you focused on as you journey through this season? Merry Christmas! For additional information, visit Ruthhendrickson.org. Does Commitment Matter?
Are you committed to Jesus Christ? Are you surrendered to Jesus Christ? Does it make a difference? Often we will talk about committing to Jesus Christ. However, the older generations would talk about surrendering to Jesus Christ. As I was in the Word of God today, I was asked that very question. Many are committed to a marriage or a relationship until they are not. We may be committed to a diet or exercise until we are not. What is the difference between a commitment and surrender? Why does it matter in our walk with Jesus Christ? As I share this, I feel like the Holy Spirit is pouring a type of Holy Spirit solidifier into the very core of your being. He is shoring up and strengthening your relationship with Him so you can surrender fully. Scripture: Mark 1:16-20 For additional information, visit Ruthhendrickson.org. Temper Tantrums and God’s Right Hand
Have you ever thrown a temper tantrum? Have you observed someone throwing a temper tantrum? Are you stubborn? Are you stubborn for or against God? Today, we will look at what happens when we resist the faithful hand of God vs. when we grab hold of the hand of God. You will identify the places where you have become stubborn or thrown a temper tantrum and the impact on your life. You will also identify what happens when you align with the very heartbeat of God. By the time we are finished, you will be decreeing and declaring the goodness of God and back on track. You are THE Salt
Do you dump salt on your food before you taste it? In Matthew 5:13, we are told that we are the salt of the Earth. However, I suggest we do not understand what that means in our daily lives. Jesus is emphatic that YOU are the salt of the Earth. And, if that pure salt is tainted with something else, it cannot have an impact. What does being the salt of the world mean in your everyday life? Does it matter? You are created to bring the flavor of Heaven into the realms of Earth. When You Feel Insignificant
Imagine you are watching an action and adventure movie. You are trying to figure out the scene as a farmer is plowing. The music begins to shift, and you see the enemy creeping around the field's edges. The farmer doesn't have a chance. He doesn't have any weapons, or cell phones, just an old stick that he uses to prod his oxen. Our unlikely, seemingly insignificant hero is a man named Shamgar. His story is short and powerful, yet easily missed buried at the tail end of Judges 3. However, the decisions that Shamgar makes at the moment save a nation. Like Shamgar, God will take the strength you have and infuse it with His strength. In the process, he will take what you are holding in your hand and infuse it with His power. Are you ready to become a world changer and save nations? If so, let's learn from Shamgar! True Authority
Is it right to question authority? Of course, there are times, seasons, and individuals when we need to act with wisdom and question authority. However, there are also times when we should not question authority. In other words, it is right and good to question authority until it is not! We live in a world that is full of sham authority. We need the wisdom of Heaven to know what to question and what not to question. We can get so trapped in our self-importance that we can ask the wrong questions if our heart is not aligned with a Kingdom mindset. In Mark 11, we meet a group of religious leaders so trapped in their religious traditions and importance that they questioned Jesus with the wrong motives. What can we learn from this group of religious leaders, so we do not repeat their mistakes? We are in a season where we need a spirit of wisdom and discernment to flow within our lives. It is essential that we know when to question authority and when to not question. Getting to the Heart of the Matter
How is your heart? As a believer, it is important to get to the core or heart of the matter. Just as in the natural we can have heart trouble; we can also have heart trouble in the spiritual. If our hearts (the whole of our being) is not in alignment with God it will eventually rise to the surface. At that moment, we can embrace healing which leads to a firm foundation and good fruit. Or, we can embrace denial and have a weak foundation and false or non-existent fruit. Each day we make choices that impact our heart heath. What choice are you making today? Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. - Proverbs 4:23 Scripture Scripture Referenced: Luke 6, Proverbs 4:23 For additional information, visit https://ruthhendrickson.com Related Content: Cultivate Revival| Do you need a revival? Are you becoming the person that the world needs you to be? The world will give us a glimpse of how that image must appear. However, the Word of God will provide us with a very different picture. Jesus, Parables, Light, and You!
Growing up, we sang "This Little Light of Mine." With all the gusto our little bodies could muster, we would belt out the words and put the actions with them. As adults, many of us add dimmer switches to our light and control the brightness. However, Jesus clearly says we are to bring the light into the room and let it shine. How do we bring in the light? What difference does that light make in our lives? What difference does that light make in the lives of those around us? The Doubting Heart and Jesus
Have you walked with Jesus for years and still struggling with seeds of doubt? Or, have you witnessed signs, wonders, and miracles, been used mightily of God, and still struggled with doubt? God is ready to give you eyes to see, like Jesus. When the disciples were struggling, Jesus saw. We must realize that Jesus didn't watch them from a distance but came to them. At that moment, the disciples didn't recognize who had come into their midst. Even after He joins them in the boat and the storm calms down, they still have questions, and their hearts are still hard. There is an invitation to see as Jesus does and recognize God in our midst. However, we also must deal with our fear, unbelief, and hardened hearts to have eyes that see. It is exciting to realize that Jesus was not passing by the disciples but showing them His glory. He invited them to grow in relationship with Him and understand who He is. The same is true for you today. The Integrity of the Rock
Where does integrity develop? What is your plumb line for integrity? Throughout your life, you have made choices that impact what you believe integrity is, how it relates to you, the world around you, and your relationship with God. When we look at our integrity, our definition and the resulting walk must stem from the Word of God. In Isaiah, we are commanded to know or remember the rock from which we were cut. Which give us some great questions: What mold were you cut from? What quarry are you going to represent in this life? What Does it Mean? Blessed are the Persecuted
I admit that I wouldn't say I like the thought or experience of persecution. If you are like me, I am guessing it is not on your vacation or bucket list. Why would Jesus include "Blessed are those who are persecuted," and what does He mean by this? We must understand that Jesus is talking about persecution that happens as a result of following him. He is not talking about the persecution that happens when we make bad choices. Any form of persecution, that happens due to our walk with the Lord, brings us closer to Him and He will give us what need to make it through. What can we learn as we sit at His feet? We are called to have a desire or hunger for the things of God. We are called to have a passion or hunger for a relationship with God. We are called to have a desire or appetite for the Word of God. When we hunger and thirst for righteousness, it is not in vain, for it comes with a promise that God will fulfill that desire. Is part of the reason the church is not impacting the world and having a massive impact because we have lost the hunger and thirst for righteousness? Many good, well-meaning people have sat down with the Bible, read it from cover and cover, and declared it a good book! After all, it has all the components: life, death, catastrophic events, wars, murder, adultery, and numerous love stories. However, the Bible is more than an excellent book to glean accurate theological knowledge. Now, don’t get me wrong. Accurate theological knowledge is vital to the Christian walk. God’s word is our plumbline. And we need to grow in our understanding of the “whole” of Scripture and not just pull out an individual verse. What Does it Mean? Blessed – Those Who Mourn
Imagine Jesus telling his disciples they are blessed when they mourn. How would you respond if you were in the crowd listening to the teaching? Depending on how you understand the word "mourn," you may lean in to hear more or back off because you believe it is too painful. As used here, to "mourn" is to recognize our shortcomings before God. We mourn over our choices that result in sin rather than freedom. When we learn to mourn God's way, it opens the door for the promises of Heaven to come flooding into our lives. What is the Condition of Your Wineskin?
Is your wineskin able to stretch, or has it become brittle and easily broken? Jesus tells us that we cannot put new wine into old skins. We can quickly lose this meaning in translation, especially if we do not work with animal skins. The key is that we cannot hold what God is doing in and through us today if we are holding on to the old nature rather than embracing the fullness of God. The Truth about Creation
When you open your Bible to the book of Genesis it begins with “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). However, a 1991 Gallup poll found that some 90% of American’s believed that God created the world in some manner. However, by 2019 that number fell to 40% and continues to fall today. As we read through the book of Genesis we see intent, order, and purpose within each day of creation. God planned each step, there was nothing random or haphazard about creation. The truth is, if we don’t believe that God created absolutely everything, but himself, with no exception, then we cannot believe that God is sovereign. If God is not sovereign, then we cannot trust Him with our lives. Scripture: Genesis 1:1, Colossians 1:16-17, Nehemiah 9:6, Job 28-23-27, Proverbs 2:19, Psalm 19:1, Romans 1:18-21, Psalm 8:3-9, Isaiah 40:12, 22, Psalm 139:13, Exodus 4:11, Psalm 104:14, Matthew 6:26-30, Psalm 104:21,27-30, 1 Corinthians 15:41 For additional information, visit https://ruthhendrickson.com Related Content: Biblical Authority| Most people will agree that the Bible is an important book and perhaps the most influential book ever written, after all, it was hand copied until 1455 when it became the first book to be printed, it has lasted through the years, and millions of copies have been sold in virtually every language. The Power of God’s Grace
We live in an increasingly judgmental world, so grace is in short supply. However, since we are called to bring heaven to earth, we need to be people who walk in kingdom grace. How much grace do you extend to others? How much grace do you desire to have extended to you? When we walk in grace, it enables or empowers us to carry the weight of our imperfections. How does this happen? If we walk with Jesus, we know that our sins are forgiven, and there is more to life. When we know that we are forgiven and that God has more for us, it is easier to accept the imperfections in others and extend grace to them. When Jesus Reaches Out His Hand to Touch You
Just one touch changes everything. We were created for healthy touch. There is a touch that destroys life, but there is a touch that brings life. When Jesus reaches out and touches a life, everything changes. In the gospel of Mark, we have a leper bravely approaching Jesus. He defies the social and religious expectations of keeping a distance and confidently kneels before Jesus. This man knew what Jesus carried and was able to step into the atmosphere. Many of us live life like the leper, keeping outside the fullness of community. Today is the day to take a lesson from the leper and step back to the fullness of who God has called you to be. How do you respond when God says no? Have you prayed, fasted, contended, and stood on the Word of God only to have things end differently than you envisioned? In Alignment for God’s Assignment
Are you in alignment with the call that God has on your life? If not, how do you make that adjustment? Learning from a conversation that Jeremiah had with God, you will discover that when God gives you an assignment, you can become aligned with that assignment and successfully fulfill it. Key Points: - Identity is always crucial with assignment from God - When God gives you an assignment, you cannot afford to allow fear to attach. - God is faithful to watch over His promises. - The ability to break off anything that hinders you is not based on your feelings; it entirely depends on who God is. Learning to Worship in Spirit and in Truth
Do you worship in spirit? Do you worship in truth? In John 4, we find Jesus in the conversation with a Samaritan woman. In that conversation, He mentions worshipping in spirit and in truth. To worship in spirit means that we are worshipping at a heart level that every part of our being is engaged. To worship in truth means that our worship is rooted, grounded, and established in the Word of God. What would change if you worshipped in spirit and truth? What would change if the church at large learned to worship in spirit and truth? Key: Never allow others' perceptions to dictate your worship. As I was going through my files today, I came across that word and felt an urge from the Holy Spirit to share that word with you. Many of you have family members or close friends who are wandering. The Power of the Oil
Our neighbor is a very gifted general contractor. The other day I went to his house to see what he was doing. He was cutting grooves in some wood so they would fit together. This wood was costly, had a specific purpose, and was well oiled. God began to speak as I pondered the wood and the oil. - What does it mean to be cut so that we can be joined together for the Kingdom? - What changes in our lives if we lean into the cutting rather than leaning away from the cutting? - Is God pouring out oil in this season? If so, what is our response? - How does our response impact the Body of Christ and ultimately, the world around us? The Cost of Partial Obedience
When was the last time you settled for less than God's best? Why did you settle for less? Was it an intentional or unintentional decision? How did that impact your life? The Biblical truth is that we fall into sin whenever we settle for less than God's best. In addition, we begin to think that we know better than God. Today, we will look at Saul and his choices as they aligned with the cultures around him rather than with God's mandate. In addition, you will identify areas in your life where you have compromised and get back on the right path with God. You are here for such a time as this! Discerning Direction When the Wind Blows
How do you respond when the wind blows? Your response depends on the type of wind. If a storm is blowing in, most people will run for cover. However, a gentle breeze on a hot day cools the body and brings refreshing. Just as there are winds in the natural, there are also winds in the spiritual. In the natural, we must discern how to respond to the wind; the same is true in the spiritual. You cannot see the wind, but you can feel and see the impact around you. You may not know where the wind originates nor where it ends, but you know it is here in the moment, and you know that you have no control over it. How does this impact us in the spiritual realm, and why is this important? Join us today as we talk about discerning the direction when the wind blows. Never Be Afraid to Stand Your Ground
How do you stand apart from the crowd when the pressure is so great? General Booth made a wise statement: "The chief danger that confronts the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, heaven without hell…." We live in a day where we see religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, and so forth. The only way to combat the decay of society is to lose the fear of standing apart from the crowd. The decision to take a stand in the face of untold pressures is the key to your destiny. The Language of Heaven
What is the language of Heaven? Is the language of Heaven rules and regulations? Is the language of Heaven judgment or love? Is the language of Heaven rooted in defeat or saturated in victory? The fact of the matter is that the language of Heaven is breakthrough. It is a breakthrough from sin into forgiveness, lies into truth, grief into joy, and more. Everything about the language of Heaven moves you forward and does not pull you back. Anything that pulls you back is the language of hell. God has a plan for your life. However, you must understand where your strength comes from to step into the place. And you must learn to access that strength when the very weapons of hell seemed to have you as a target. Key concept: When you intentionally focus on the Lord, it becomes a barrier to fear, discouragement, and disillusionment. In other words, when we intentionally focus on the Lord, it becomes a springboard to breakthrough. For additional information, visit Ruthhendrickson.org. Living at the Edge of Christ’s Return
When was the last time you looked over the edge of a cliff? What did you see? What changes if you look out rather than down? If your gaze goes upward, things change yet again. We live in a time where we live at the edge of Christ’s return. We understand that we have been in the last days since Jesus’ first return, and each day brings us a day closer to his second coming. This begs the question; How do we live our lives on the edge of the return of Jesus Christ? We must learn to avoid the traps of dead works and false teachings. We must learn to be diligent, wise, alert, and productive. In this season, we are called to live blameless and spotless lives; however, is that possible? Today is the day. Finding Peace When God’s Supply Seems Absent

The Word of God is powerful and full of truth. However, when God’s supply seems to be MIA, that verse can be annoying and feel impossible. During the season where Paul penned that verse, he was not in a comfortable situation. Paul was under house arrest and chained to Roman guards. When God Asks You a Question
How do you respond when God asks you a question? God began questioning people in the book of Genesis with Adam and Eve. And, He is still asking questions of people today. A question from God always involves some form of an invitation. It may be an invitation, to be honest with Him and confess our sins. Or, His question may be an invitation to see things from His perspective. There are many reasons God would ask you a question, but you can rest assured that those questions are intentional, and we must take them seriously. What aspects of your life have you buried? We must understand that when God reveals what has been buried, it is an invitation for freedom and healing. The Importance of Receiving Your Identity as a Priest
Do you believe that you are a priest for the Kingdom of Heaven? What is the Scriptural basis for the average believer being a priest? What difference does it make if I identify with being a priest? What is my job description as a priest? Many have worked on their identity as a son, daughter, bride, and child of God. However, few have accepted their identity as a priest. We live in a culture where the priesthood is for the chosen or called. However, the New Testament Scripture makes it clear that we are all kings and priests. Why is this so important? Because identity determines function. Suppose we do not understand that we are priests; we will not take on the role of a priest. If we do not take on the role of a priest, we will not have the impact on the world around us that God desires us to have. For additional information, visit Ruthhendrickson.org

Is There a Place for Boasting?
What goes through your head when you hear someone boasting? Usually, we view it as puffing ourselves up with pride. However, there is a way to boast that it is healthy and strengthens us. When God Invades Your Life
How do we handle the moments when God invades our lives? And, how do we handle the moments when we miss that God invasion? It was Christmas Eve, 1990, and I was awakened during the night. Since I was awake, I wandered out to the living room, where I stepped right into the presence of God. Although I had been a Christian for years, I did not know that I should stay in that moment until the presence of the Lord lifted. So, what did I do? I went back to bed. God takes our missteps and turns them into excellent teaching opportunities. He is so good that He doesn’t let anything go to waste. Related Content: When God Invades | When God invades our lives, we have a choice to make in that very moment. We can choose to stay and linger in His presence, or we can choose to walk away. He does not force us to stay and have a conversation or spend time with Him, but He is always willing to spend time with us. Take Your Mountain! (Ep. 39)
As I was preparing this, I could see us standing, looking at a vast mountain range. The Lord reached down, His hand reached down, and as His hand descended, the mountain was put into perspective. Victor or Victim? (Ep. 37)
We all want to be the hero in the story. To be the victor is always preferable to playing the part of the victim. However, we can have areas of our lives where we succumb and find ourselves the victim rather than the victor. When we operate out of a victim mindset, it is impossible to rise to the fullness to which God has called us. We are called to warriors for the Kingdom of Heaven. It is time to get out of the muddy victim pit, get washed off, and stand tall. We can only carry the fullness of Christ when we have His mindset and no other.

Can We Truly Pray for Leaders? (Ep. 31)
Some leaders are easy to pray for; however, others are difficult. We can end up cursing rather than a blessing. Does this matter? Our prayers make more of a difference than we realize.
