About
As a young man, I knew and was inspired by a man named Bruno Grizelli. Bruno did the right things, ate the right things and treated his body with respect and discipline. He was a professional soccer player for some other country... I don’t recall. He and I would talk about how important it was to eat right, exercise, and take good care of our bodies. I knew him as a man that lived what he preached. I was taken aback when he died suddenly of a heart attack at a rather young age. I felt that he had died from an illness reserved only for those who have abused themselves. Never did I think that he was not doing everything in his power to be the epitome of health. His death struck me deeply and a persistent, nagging question has remained tucked in the back of my mind since that time: why did he die when he was the picture of health?
Since 1980 I have worked as an alternative health care practitioner, a naturopath, an herbalist, nutritionist etc, and Bruno's untimely death has been an inspiration and motivation for my learning. I have sought to know why Bruno died of a heart attack when he should not have. All the learning that I have obtained only served to intensify the need for an answer to that question. This great man, Bruno, was right about all that he had embraced in his life, so why did it happen? My conclusion is that something was missing. Something was missing in his regime; either by commission or omission it was not complete. It could have been both. After several decades of searching, I know of 6 precious gems of knowledge that are not being taught in any school of which I am aware. These precious gems have been hidden from man’s general learning and, in many cases, devaluated and scorned by those that control the status quo of accepted truth.
1. What a good diet is. (How about “Elements of a good diet.”
2. Avoid (this is “gem” #3) colors, preservatives and excitotoxins.
3. Avoid food additives.
4. Fats and oils are not the enemy and are essential (coconut is one of the best).
5. Exercise should be for the entire body and not single muscle groups.
6. The pH of our body is of paramount importance.
Bruno was aware of the importance of exercise. In fact, he was the individual that introduced me to its correct form. I abided by it until shortly after his death, when my schedule succumbed to a student’s life and the demands placed thereon. Decades later, learning about health and searching for answers for those who have sought my help, I have found myself right back at the very form of exercise that Bruno first introduced to me in the 1970’s, bringing the question of Bruno’s death to the forefront of my mind once more. I never really knew that it affected me so deeply.
