Writing Emails That Your Audience Can't Wait to Read with Bobby Klinck

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   You’re sending emails to your audience, right?   Sending weekly emails is a must, so if you’re not doing it yet, this episode is definitely for you. I’m joined by email-marketing expert Bobby Klinck, and we’re talking all about the emails that you’re writing and sending to your audience.    The time you spend writing to your email list is more valuable than the time you spend creating Reels or TikToks or Facebook posts because your emails are going straight to your readers’ inboxes. If you’re not taking advantage of email, you’re missing an opportunity to build connections and relationships with your people.    In this episode, Bobby is walking you through how to write emails that people actually want to read, the basic structure of a good email, why you should rethink the purpose of your emails, and so much more.    Bobby Klinck is a Harvard lawyer turned online entrepreneur. He helps serve-first online entrepreneurs build lasting businesses that they love so that they can support their families and truly serve their audiences.   Episode 93 Takeaways:    + Email is the most valuable way to reach your audience. + Write emails that people actually want to read.  + You should sound like a person, not a company.  + Don't write your emails just to check a box.  + Email builds a connection between you and your audience.  + Your audience wants to get to know you.  + People don’t connect with writing that is overly technical or formal.  + Lean into your personality.  + Subject lines aren’t as important as you think.  + Don’t trick people into opening your emails.  + Make note of stories as they happen or as you think of them.    Don’t wait until you have the perfect email sequence to get started. The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll start improving. If you’ve been wondering where to start, you’re in the right place.    You can get your hands on Bobby’s new book, Email Marketing That Doesn't Suck, by clicking HERE or searching for it on Amazon. 5 Important Lessons I’ve Learned From My Coach

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Have you ever worked with a mindset coach?   Getting a mindset coach was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I make every single one of our meetings a priority in my schedule. My coach, Neill Williams, has helped me with everything from managing my time to changing my mindset around things like goals and money.    In this episode, I’m sharing 5 of the most important lessons that I’ve learned from her. Each one of these lessons has had an invaluable impact on my life and business.    Whether you have a coach of your own or you’ve never even heard of mindset coaches, this episode has something for you.    Episode 92 Takeaways:  + Mindset coaches are invaluable.  + Make sure you’re problem-solving before the problem pops up.  + You should be making decisions ahead of time.  + Plan for results, not just what you’re going to be working on. + Schedule thinking time.  + Money is just a data point.  + More money allows you to have a bigger impact.  + Goals aren’t about meeting a number, they're about what you learn along the way.  + If you don’t meet a goal, it doesn't mean you’ve failed.    I could talk forever about things I’ve learned from my coach, but the 5 lessons in this episode are some of the most valuable. I hope something from this episode resonates with you and helps you to go out and have a bigger impact.    You can find out more about Neill on her website, follow her on Instagram under the handle @neillwilliamscoach, or tune in to the Unbusy Your Life podcast.    I would love to connect with you! How to Have a Planning Retreat for Your Business

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Do you have yearly planning retreats? In this episode, I’m telling you why I think you should.    My team and I have a planning retreat every year that I find so valuable, so I wanted to tell you what our retreats look like and help you decide whether a planning retreat would be a good idea for you.    I'm sharing everything you need to know about why we have planning retreats and what we cover at them. In this episode, you’ll learn when and where to have a retreat, how to prepare, and how to make sure the things that you plan at the retreat get implemented afterward.    Whether you’ve had a planning retreat before or this is your first time hearing about them, this episode will help you figure out how to plan one for your business.     Episode 91 Takeaways:  + Work your business around your personal life, not your personal life around your business.  + Decide how many hours you want to work and then fit in the most important things.  + You don’t have to have a team to enjoy the benefits of a planning retreat.  + There is value in celebrating and learning from the previous year.  + You should be setting goals every year.  + Have fun, bond, and socialize with your team.  + It doesn't have to be January to have a planning retreat, you can have one now.  + Make decisions based on numbers.  + Don’t forget about your ideas after the retreat.    This episode will help you plan your retreat from beginning to end. Even if you don’t have a team, I've included ideas to help you plan a solo retreat. I think you should give it a try.    Find me on Instagram and let me know if you’ve ever hosted or attended a planning retreat before! Mistakes That Teacher Entrepreneurs Make When Growing Their Email List (And What to Do Instead)

Do you have an email list? If not, let’s do something about that.    In this episode, we are talking all about email list building. We’re going over mistakes that teacher entrepreneurs make when they are growing their email lists and what to do instead.    We all make mistakes. In fact, making mistakes is how we learn better strategies, so don’t feel bad if you are doing any of the things we talk about in this episode. Use it as an opportunity to grow!    We’re covering marketing, lead magnets, target audiences, and so many other important topics, so don’t miss it!   Episode 89 Takeaways:    + The biggest mistake you can make is not growing a list at all.  + You don’t need to wait to start a list.  + Your email list is your most powerful marketing tool.  + Don’t grow a list by offering a newsletter.  + You want to come across to your audience as a friend.  + Lead magnets are valuable.  + Grow a list with a lead magnet that is targeted to a specific audience.  + Quality is better than quantity when it comes to leads.  + Don’t use a freebie library to grow your list.  + Market your lead magnet.    I made most of the mistakes that are in this episode, so I’ve been there. If you can focus on just one of them and start to improve it, that’s a win.    I have created a workshop all about email list building. It’s a two-hour workshop that goes through choosing the perfect lead magnet, creating the landing page, and doing the marketing. Plus, I’m throwing in a bonus that will get your list to buy from you during your first week. 6 Reasons Teacher Entrepreneurs Need to Create a Digital Course

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Have you bought into the lie that teachers aren’t going to buy a course from you? Let’s break that down and talk about why they ARE!    In this episode, I'm excited to talk to you about the six reasons that digital courses are perfect for teacher entrepreneurs. I’m so excited to talk about this because I often read misbeliefs about digital course creation inside Facebook groups that are completely untrue, and I want to clear some of them up for you.    I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone post in an entrepreneur group that digital courses only work for people who are selling them to other entrepreneurs. They think that digital courses are only for entrepreneurs who are ultimately going to make money so therefore they are the only ones willing to pay for a course.    Well, I'm here to tell you that that is hogwash. There are tons of super successful course creators out there who are not selling to other entrepreneurs, and I'm one of them! I created a course for teachers, and I think it was super successful. I had a six-figure launch the first time around, and then I nearly doubled it. And I'm not the only success story. I'm not the only one out there who's created a course in an industry where someone isn't going to make money from the course they bought.    Another thing I hear people asking is “can teachers really afford to pay for a course out of their own pocket?” No surprise, my answer is YES!    Let me share with you six reasons that creating a  course is perfect for teacher entrepreneurs. Then, I think you’ll see why we need more people making courses for teachers.    Episode 88 Takeaways:    + Teachers are lifelong learners. + Teachers need Professional Development in order to keep their licenses. + You can teach applicable strategies that university education programs often don't include. + You have this opportunity to offer a Professional Development experience that is superior to some of the experiences they've had in school. + You're already an expert with proven results. + You already know how to teach.    I hope I’ve convinced you that teacher entrepreneurs should be creating more digital courses.    So, are you ready to create your digital course? Are you ready to provide the training that your audience has been begging for? If so, I want you to join Amy Porterfield’s Digital Course Academy. I want you to have a huge impact on your teacher audience, so I have decided to offer a set of bonuses to any teacher entrepreneur who wants to sign up for Digital Course Academy through my link HERE! 3 Questions to Ask When Choosing Your Course Topic

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   If you created a digital course, what would it be about?    If you’ve been thinking that a digital course might be in your future but you’re not sure what to make it about, this is the episode for you.    I’m giving you three quick and simple questions to ask yourself to generate some ideas for a course topic that would be right for you.    Even if you haven’t thought about creating a digital course yet, I want you to try this exercise. It will give you some good topic ideas for other content, or you can stash them away for future courses when the time comes.    You’ll walk away from this episode with three different ways to come up with the course topic that's right for you as a teacher entrepreneur.    Episode 87 Takeaways:  + Think about what questions buyers are asking about your biggest product line. + Don’t create a course on how to use your resource.  + Create a course that complements your product.  + Write down all of the course ideas that you have.  + If your audience is still asking questions then it means there's still room for a course. + If you’ve already created content on a topic, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t create a course on it too.  + You should be passionate about your topic.  + Take inspiration from your social media.  + Teach about the thing that seems easy or obvious to you.    These are the quickest, easiest, and best ways to come up with a topic for your course. I don’t want to overwhelm you with lots of ideas because that will just make it harder to narrow down to one.    I hope this gives you some ideas and gets you thinking about what your course topic will be.    Amy Porterfield has a free training called 5 Little Known Mistakes Most Course Creators Make and What to Do Instead, and I want you to join me for it. Amy’s trainings are always amazing, but I’m especially excited for this one. Plus, it will be a great opportunity for you to see how she teaches online. She knows that we’re a little different from a lot of other entrepreneurs, so that’s why I thought she would be the perfect person to answer our questions.    Episode 86 Takeaways:  + Don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be. + Focus on one course and launch it a few times before you move on to something else.  + You can make changes and improvements after your first launch. + Ask your audience what they need and want.  + Don’t spend too much time on the name or logo. + You can make money off of courses at lower price points.  + Keep your audience out of the overwhelm.  + You don’t need to be the expert of all experts.  + A digital course can give you freedom.    Are you going to create a course? They are basically little sales pages for every single one of your products.  In my experience, there have been times when I’ve put so much work into creating a product that when it came to listing it and writing a description, I just threw something together quickly and moved on.  In this episode, I am breaking down why you should prioritize product descriptions, and I’m sharing a few tips on writing TpT product descriptions that sell.    Episode 78 Takeaways:  + Write your product descriptions in advance.  + Every single one of your product descriptions is a sales page. + Don’t make product descriptions the last part of product creation.  + It only takes a little time to make your product descriptions stand out.  + The snippet is an important part of your description.  + Use keywords naturally. + Tell the buyer how your resource solves their problem. + Write about the benefits of your product. + Address questions that buyers might have about your product. + Highlight positive feedback in your description. + Be careful about linking to related resources.  + Be short and concise.    For more information, additional help, or to hear my top tips for writing product descriptions that sell, tune in! I know they can get pricey, but they are great learning experiences, motivators, and places to make new friends.    If you've ever been to a business conference, you know that while it is all of those things, it can also be overwhelming.   To try to make it less overwhelming, I’m breaking down 5 tips that I think are going to help you to get the most out of conferences based on what I have learned and done at all the conferences I've been to.   Episode 76 Takeaways:  + You are not meant to listen to every presentation or take action on everything that you hear at a conference. + Pick what sessions you are going to go to before the conference. + Do what’s going to help you be successful.  + Choose a note-taking system that works for you. + Turn off notifications or use a device without social media on it. + Be flexible and open to changing your schedule. + Have an accountability partner. + Take time to prioritize your action item list after the conference.   The tips that I have for you in this episode will help you to get the most out of your conferences and retreats this year and for many years ahead, so tune in!   I would love to connect with you! 6 Reasons I'll Never Have a Freebie Library

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Are you thinking about creating a freebie library?    This is something that I get pretty passionate about, so buckle up because I am being really upfront about how I feel about them in this episode.   As you can tell from the title, I do not have a freebie library, and I'm sharing with you the 6 reasons why I never will.    Some of you probably have a freebie library, and if you’re super happy with its conversion rate and you love having one, this episode might not be for you.    But I do get a lot of questions from people who are thinking about setting one up, so I thought it would be helpful for me to bring all of my answers together in this episode.    Episode 75 Takeaways:    + A freebie library is a collection of freebies that someone gets access to when they give you their email address.  + Freebie libraries are not so popular outside of the teaching space.  + You won’t know what specific freebie each individual signed up for.  + A standard lead magnet makes it easier to sell on the back end. + It makes it harder to be known for something when you're = giving away all kinds of things. + A freebie library gives your audience decision fatigue. + Freebie libraries often aren’t the best examples of your work.  + You don’t want to attract an audience that is only looking for freebies. + You will forever be answering emails about lost passwords for a freebie library. + Having the right people on your list is better than a large list.    You shouldn’t feel like you have to make a freebie library just because you think everyone else is doing it...   I encourage you to really ask yourself what your goals are and how that library will or will not help you to meet those goals. If it won’t help, you don’t have to make it!   For more of my thoughts and an explanation on why I feel this way, tune in!   I would love to connect with you! Strategically Using Your TpT Conversion Rate

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Do you hate looking at your numbers?   I get it. I think a lot of creative, visionary types tend to struggle with the data and numbers side of their business, but it is super important to understand them!   In this episode, I am going to simplify things for you.    We are chatting about data generally, but we’re also going to be diving into the specifics of using your TpT conversion rate. We're going to talk about what it means, why you might have a low conversion rate, why you might have a high conversion rate, what you could do with your conversion rate, and how we use conversion rates to make decisions regarding our Facebook ads.   I’m bringing on my husband, Scott, to talk about this because he’s my data guy, and he’ll be able to answer all of our questions.    Even if you don't like looking at the numbers in your business, this episode is for you.    Episode 74 Takeaways:    + You want to look at data that directly affects your outcome.  + Compare your numbers to your own past numbers.  + Track numbers weekly rather than daily or hourly.  + You need to be making decisions based on data.  + A conversion rate tells you how many people it takes to click on your product before someone buys it.  + Don’t decrease your price to increase your conversion rate. + Improve your listing to improve your conversion rate. + Calculate your earnings per click.    It’s important to have someone tracking the numbers in your business, so if it’s not going to be you, make sure you bring someone on to do it for you.    Once you’ve collected some data, you can use it to make decisions about what products to make, what products to promote, whether to add budget to your Facebook ads or turn them off. Your numbers will tell you what to do.   Don’t forget to leave a review letting me know what you think of the podcast! I love to read them, and I really appreciate it.    I would love to connect with you! You can find me on Instagram at @not_so_wimpy_entrepreneur.

Wealth, Webinars and When to Hire: Memorable Moments from the Spring Mastermind Retreat

Are you ready to have your mind blown with entrepreneurial knowledge?  Back in March, I hosted a two-day retreat for my teacher-entrepreneur mastermind. We call ourselves the Not So Wimpy CEOs! I am bringing you a compilation of some of the best tips and ideas that were covered by a portion of our guests in this episode! You will get to hear from Emily Sandberg, Bookkeeper and Certified Life Coach; Rick Mulready, Online Business Coach and Podcast Host; Tasha Cochran, Wealth Coach; Beth Hoff, Integrator; and Erika Macauley, OBM and Integrator.  From money management to webinars to working with a team and more, we explore so many important and transformative topics. As soon as we wrapped up the retreat, I knew I had to share all I could with you! Episode 71 Takeaways: You have to be willing to look at your money. There is data in your money. Your value is what saves you, not your money. Selling is serving. Think of your webinar as creating a desire for your offer rather than as teaching. You want to influence your audience to make a decision. People spend money on what they value. Prioritize your personal finances. Your business owes you money. An integrator is to your business what a fireplace is to fire. The integrator executes the visionary’s idea. Of course, I couldn’t share everything from this two-day retreat, but this episode is just a little sneak peek into some of the amazing lessons and ideas that are shared at the Not So Wimpy CEO Mastermind Retreat. I encourage you to tune in and grab a piece of paper and a pen because you’re going to want to write down some of these incredible takeaways! I would love to connect with you! 5 Mistakes You’re Making When Hiring Help

Are you trying to do everything on your own?    If you haven’t started to experience burnout, you likely will pretty soon, but there is a simple solution to this. Hire some help!   I talk about hiring help a lot because it’s something that we are all scared to do in the beginning stages of our business. The problem with this is that not hiring keeps us stuck because we aren’t able to do everything ourselves.   To continue to grow and scale our business without getting burnt out, hiring is crucial. Plus, you probably don’t want to be doing everything yourself anyway. Right?   As someone who has experienced these feelings and gone through the hiring process, I am giving you some insight as well as explaining 5 hiring mistakes that I see happen often.   Episode 70 Takeaways:    + You don’t have to do everything by yourself.  + Hiring help prevents burnout.  + Start considering help before you feel like you're drowning.  + Hiring is an investment, not an expense.  + Create clear job descriptions and application processes.  + Hire from within your community.  + Set a clear goal for your new hire.  + You don’t have to have everything perfectly organized to start hiring.    No matter what stage you are at in your business, I want you to recognize that hiring is part of growing a business! While it can be an overwhelming process, it is so beneficial in the long run to have a team alongside you!   Tune in to learn more about how I recommend taking on the hiring process and the five mistakes I want you to avoid!   Also, I created a two-hour hiring workshop covering all of the lessons that I’ve learned about hiring. We added 115,000 new email leads to our list!   That's massive! We have never added that many new leads to our list in a year before, so I thought it would be interesting for you to hear what we did to get those leads.    I am also chatting with you about what our goal is for 2021 and what we'll be doing differently this year.    I hope that getting a little sneak peek behind the scenes at how we're running our business gives you some new ideas, encouragement, and motivation.   Episode 59 Takeaways:    + Email marketing is about consistently building a relationship with your ideal clients.  + Email your list at least once a week. + The quality of your list is more important than the quantity.  + Create relevant and timely lead magnets.  + Post about your lead magnets on social media multiple times a week. + Use Facebook ads for lead magnets. + Feature a relevant lead magnet at the top of every page of your website. + Work your Facebook groups to get them on your email list. + Set big and scary goals.    Now that we've talked about my goal, I want to hear about yours? Blogging Week 4: Batching Your Blog Content

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   We are finishing our series all about blogging in today’s episode, so if you’re just joining, go back to Episode 55 and start there!   I have a question for you. Are you skipping blog posts because you just can’t find the time to write them?   We’re going to wrap up this series by talking about how to batch your blog content.    Think of this like baking cookies. You don’t get out all your ingredients and tools just to make two cookies when you want them. No, you make a whole batch at once so that you only have to do the work once!   The same goes for writing your blog posts. Batching will save you time and help you to be more consistent which is super important.    Episode 58 Takeaways:  + Batching saves you time and makes you more consistent.  + It’s important to put out content consistently. + If you get everything done at once then you don’t have to keep going back to it. + Batching gives you the freedom to focus on all the other projects in your business that need your attention. + Find a batching schedule that works for you.  + Your content calendar doesn’t have to be complicated.  + Set aside time in your calendar for your batching and then schedule a separate time to review.  + Don’t give up if your batching plan doesn’t work perfectly right away.  + Use a template.   Take a few minutes and choose when your next batching session will be. Block it off on your calendar! Make that time sacred. It will be worth it for the time it saves you.    I would love to connect with you! We're starting a series all about Facebook groups.   I LOVE Facebook groups, so I am doing four different episodes, just for you, to explain why I love them so much and why you should think about using them.    I’m going to kick it off today by sharing with you the many different ways that a Facebook group can help you to grow your business.   Episode 42 Takeaways:    + Facebook groups can increase your sales. + You should start with a Facebook page and THEN consider a group.  + A Facebook group can be a great place to build relationships. + There's more value because everyone is sharing, not just you.  + Create a group for a specific niche.  + In groups, you can find a goldmine of content ideas. + Facebook groups are great for list building.  + They are full of eager buyers.   The biggest difference between Facebook pages and groups is that groups are much more personal. Groups provide a place where you can have conversations and build relationships with the people who are going to buy your products and show up for you.    In the next episode, I'm going to be talking about how to launch your Facebook group, so be sure to tune back in next week!    I would love to connect with you! Onboarding & Training Team Members

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Are you putting off hiring because you're just too busy right now?    News flash: You will always be busy! And the sooner you hire, the sooner that can change.    Today we're continuing the discussion we've been having for the last several weeks about hiring and leading your team.   This episode is going to be specifically about onboarding and training your team members. This is something that can be really hard to navigate if you know nothing about it! That was me. I made all the mistakes, so now you get to learn from them!    We’re talking about how to train, how to get systems in place, and how to prepare for the future success of your business.    Episode 40 Takeaways:  + Train the position instead of the person. + Set yourself up now for your future success.  + Use tools to onboard.  + Create videos to train new team members. + Have new hires spend a week or two studying your business. + Do a ninety-day trial period with all your hires.  + Start creating standard operating procedures (SOPs). + Not having SOPs set up is not an excuse not to hire.   Nothing is ever perfect. You don’t need to have perfect systems in place before you hire. In fact, you can hire someone to create those systems for you if you want to!    By onboarding and training new team members, you are investing in the future success of your business. Tools I Use to Manage My Team

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Are you using tools to manage your team? If not, this episode is going to make your life a whole lot easier.    I want to continue the discussion that we’ve been having over the last few weeks about teams and hiring. Today we’re talking about the specific tools that I use in my own business to manage my team.    Having tools in place can help you save time and increase revenue and productivity, but it can also be overwhelming. There are a lot of tools out there, and trying to use too many will just over-complicate your business.    This episode is perfect for you whether you already have a team, or you’re just starting to hire.    Episode 39 Takeaways:    + Text is not an efficient form of communication for a team.  + You can use Slack to organize your channels of communication within your team.  + Project management allows you to create a business that can run without you. + You can create SOPs using Loom. + OneDrive allows everyone on the team to have instant access to the files we are working on.  + With LastPass you can share passwords to sites without actually sharing passwords. + You can pay your team through PayPal.  + Use contracts to protect yourself.    As I’ve grown my business and team, I’ve had to learn how to streamline things so that I’m not making my life harder than it needs to be. I hope that by sharing the tools I use to manage my team, I can save you some time and resources.    You’re doing enough and your time is precious. Don’t spend it on the wrong things that the right tools could be taking care of for you.     Are you wondering what tools you need to manage your team? Growing and Leading a Team with Kris Plachy

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Are you thinking about hiring people to help you in your business? Or have you already hired some people, and you want to get better at leading them, get more results, and continue hiring?   If that sounds like you, then this is the episode for you. I am interviewing Kris Plachy, who coaches female entrepreneurs on how to grow and lead a team.    If you're anything like me, you probably had no idea you would be the CEO of a business. I didn't know that I would be hiring people and leading a team, and I certainly didn't know how! If I had known Kris back then, she would have made a huge difference, so I'm hoping she can do that for you today.    We're talking about finding people to hire, what to hire for first, how to lead a team, what types of people you need on your team, and all kinds of things in between.    Episode 38 Takeaways:    + Once you're at six figures, you should have an assistant.  + It doesn't do you any good to generate a ton of revenue if you don't have the team to support it. + You'll never find anyone who does it like you; you'll find someone who does it better.  + Don't expect one person to be good at everything.  + Working for an entrepreneur is different from working in traditional businesses.  + Think of yourself as and call yourself a CEO. + You can find people to hire everywhere. + The job title you choose will determine who you attract.    If you've been struggling with the mindset around hiring people, I hope that this helped to change your perspective. Stop thinking about what it's going to cost you, and start thinking about what it's going to make you! Every person that I've hired allows me to make more money in my business.    Go out and get that team you've been dreaming of.    I would love to connect with you! Hiring Help: A Peek into the Not So Wimpy Team

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Do you like to see what goes on inside other people’s businesses? Me too. It’s fun, but it also helps me to learn!    I'm excited about this episode because I'm going to give you a little sneak peek into my team and what they are doing in my business. I wanted to do this because I get a ton of questions about hiring help.   “Who does what on your team?”   “How did you hire them?”   “Where do you hire them?”   “Aren't you scared they won't do a good job?”   “How do you train them?”   I know you may have a lot of questions, so let’s unpack it together. Let’s take a behind the scenes peek at what the Not So Wimpy Team looks like!    Episode 37 Takeaways:    + Hiring a team requires a mindset shift. + There are people out there who can do everything you do, and maybe even better because it’s their area of genius.  + Hiring someone can help you grow 10x faster than you could on your own.  + You should start hiring after you start making a profit. + Some places to hire from are Facebook groups, indeed.com, former coworkers, or VA staffing companies.  + Pay for value (how much their work is worth to you).  + Hire out the things that don’t light you up. + You can have a team, make more money, and work less. + Everyone’s team looks different.   I really hope that this just gives you a little peek into what we're doing over here and how I'm doing it. I often get asked, “how do you do it all?” Well, I don't do it all. That's how.    So stop overthinking it. You've probably already waited too long. You're probably already overwhelmed by all of the things that need to be done in your business. So maybe today is the day to sit down, write that job description, and start hiring help.    I would love to connect with you! 6 Reasons Teacher Entrepreneurs Should Create a Digital Course

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Have you bought into the lie that teachers aren’t going to buy a course from you? Let’s break that down and talk about why they ARE!    Today I'm excited to talk to you about the six reasons that digital courses are perfect for teacher entrepreneurs. And then I think you’ll see why we need more people making courses for teachers.    Episode 35 Takeaways:    + Teachers are lifelong learners. + Teachers need Professional Development in order to keep their license. I want you to have a huge impact on your teacher audience, so I have decided to offer a free mentorship bonus to any teacher entrepreneur who wants to sign up for Digital Course Academy through my link, www.notsowimpyteacher.com/dca, so head over there to check everything out!    I would love to connect with you! How to Choose a Topic for Your Course

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!   Do you have a course topic in you? Do you have a topic that would be perfect for a digital course for teachers in your audience?    Spoiler alert! I think you do. I think that all of you have at least one topic in you, and you might not even recognize it yet because it's so simple that it's easy to overlook.   In this episode, I want to talk about how you can identify what your course topic should be and why you are qualified to teach it. I also want to share my own journey to choosing my course topic and creating my own course, so that you can see what that process might look like.    Episode 34 Takeaways:    + Spend time learning.  + See what the process of creating a course looks like.  + You don’t need qualifications, you need to have something of value to share.  + We are all good at something.  + The topic for your digital course is the thing that you do well in the classroom.  + You can figure out your course topic by looking at the content you’ve already created.  + People want to learn something quickly. + The value of your course is not based on the number of lessons it has.    Now, I want you to take this course topic and run with it. Digital Course Academy is open today, and I’m offering a bonus power mentorship to anyone who signs up through my link. DCA only opens once a year, so if you’re ready to take action now, don’t wait! Productivity Tips for Working on a Large Project with Neill Williams

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast! Are you wondering how on earth you can take on a new project when there are hardly enough hours in the day as it is?  It might be time to change the way you’re thinking.  Today’s guest, Neill Williams, is here to talk all about how to change the way we think about time, and share her best productivity tips for working on a large project. Trust me, she’s the gal for this. Neill specializes in productivity, so I wanted to get her on the show to pick her brain about what we as entrepreneurs should do if we're trying to add a big project to our business. How do we calendar it in? How do we get it accomplished if we're already super busy?  Neill is a Master Certified Coach, via the Life Coach School. She has her own podcast called Unbusy Your Life and she has built a six-figure coaching business while working another job and raising a family. Now Neill helps entrepreneurs do the same in just 25 hours a week.  Episode 32 Takeaways:  + Decide how many hours you’re going to work each week.  + Focus on what results you will get from your time vs. how you will spend your time.  + Use your parent brain instead of your toddler brain. + See where you can carve out time in your existing schedule. + Do what makes sense for you instead of comparing your timeline to others. + More time spent does not equal more revenue. + Plan for the unplanned. + Think differently about the purpose of goals. So. . . maybe there IS enough time in the day! Changing the way I think about time has been so crucial for me and my business.  I never could have figured it all out without Neill, so I hope this episode has been helpful for you too. I also want to invite you to attend a free training that Amy Porterfield is doing called How to Create and Launch a Profitable Digital Course from Scratch: The Behind the Scenes Secrets to Generate Revenue Year Round. Let’s get rid of the mindset blocks of people not wanting to purchase because of the COVID epidemic. This is absolutely not true. Everyone still needs resources for next year. They need you more than ever! Teachers are buying! It may be a little bit different from last year, but they still need the resources. Today we’re going to jump in with tips for you to not only increase your revenue, but do it in a more efficient way.    Episode 25 takeaways: Create your sale promo images for the entire year. I use one promo image for every sale. Use familiar branding specific to your brand, with the basic percent off. This will make it universal and easy to repurpose.  Write your sales promo emails for the entire year. Create an email template that is easy to drop your new promo code into. This is a HUGE time saver, I have 5 emails ready to go at a moment's notice. Write your social media copy in advance, schedule them in advance, and have your images ready and waiting. This will help you collect everything and start promoting fast and with less stress.  Highlight information in your bundles, tell what makes them special, and make it easy to see specific bundles instead of saying your entire store is on sale. Highlight a Math or Reading bundle and help prevent decision fatigue.  A couple weeks before a predicted sale, start increasing your advertising budget.  Make sure to schedule your sale on your TpT website once the date is announced. Insert your promo code into your emails and social media posts.  Offer a giveaway on your social media pages and choose winners on the morning of the sale. Do not make NEW resources just because the sale was announced. You will cause yourself more stress than will be helpful in your revenue stream. Go Live! On sale day, get online and chat with teachers and see what questions are coming your way! You might be able to direct them to your bundles and solve their problems.  If you enjoyed this week’s episode, please reach out to me on Instagram! I would love to continue this conversation. Are you ready for an Integrator?

Welcome back to another episode of The Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast! This week we’re chatting with Beth Hoff! She’s on my team and does so many amazing things for the Not So Wimpy brand as an Integrator. So today, we’re going to share what an integrator does and let you decide if you’re at the stage in your business to hire one.   We feel like Beth is basically running the show over here! While a Virtual Assistant is someone you can delegate tasks to in a specific area of your business, an Integrator is a next level manager who helps all areas of your business running smoothly together.    Instead of bringing you problems, a good Integrator is identifying problems you don’t know you have and bringing you solutions. They get to know your business to help get it running at its highest level.    Beth, as our integrator, knows all of the parts of my business and connects with each team member, almost like the second in command. It’s nice to have someone looking over it all, not just small parts.    An integrator brings the strategic planning of making sure all parts of the business grow and succeed, including each person on the team and what they’re producing. An Integrator can help Entrepreneurs let go of smaller daily tasks to start with -- doing that step-by-step to build that trust so you can let go of more and more.    They also really get to know your vision and your business so they can reflect that for you in the daily work while you focus on other parts of the business. Being open to feedback is key in the beginning of building a relationship with your new integrator. The best part is, as you start to hand off your lower level decision-making to an integrator, it allows you to focus on the bigger decisions and frees you up to keep your creative juices flowing without experiencing burnout at the end of each day.    Episode 24 takeaways: Integrator roles & responsibilities Deciding if you need an Integrator Getting more time to focus on your sweet spots Helping end your decision fatigue How to hire and when to fire Choosing a Project Management tool   Beth is an entrepreneur too, which is part of why she understands the business so well! 5 Lead Magnet Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make

Welcome back to another episode of The Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast! This week we’re focusing on the lead magnet. I’m sharing five mistakes that you don’t want to make. You know a lead magnet is giving someone a freebie in exchange for an email address to grow your contact list. But, you don’t need to offer a TON of freebies, or you’ll just be attracting the wrong customer. Instead, work on ONE really awesome lead magnet and promote it adequately. Send consistent, relevant content to keep the ideal customer on your list and don’t forget to clean it up quarterly, no one wants to be paying for leads that will never return your investment.   Episode 23 take aways: Don’t create too many lead magnets Don’t create a lead magnet that attracts a “broad” audience Don’t create lead magnets with no value Don’t create a lead magnet that doesn’t have a quick “win” Don’t spend all your time creating the lead magnet and no time on the email funnel   If you enjoyed this week’s episode, please reach out to me on Instagram, I would love to continue this conversation. My 3 Tips to Embrace Selling During COVID-19

This week on the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast I am talking about selling during COVID-19. This is an unsure time to be an entrepreneur, but I still believe that it is important to continue selling, so we can serve our audience in meaningful ways. Trust me, I had uncertainty around whether or not I should be selling. In fact, I just created a special offer and ended up getting some negative feedback. In Episode 13 I am going to tell you that story and how I worked through the negativity and ultimately focused on all of the positive feedback.  If you’re an entrepreneur, and you’re unsure of what you should be doing when it comes to sales during this time, tune into this episode. I hope it lifts your spirits! Key takeaways in this episode: Serving does NOT have to equal free. A story about an offer I made during COVID-19 and the response I got from it (both negative and positive!) The fact that not everyone has been affected financially so there still ARE people interested in buying from you. My three tips to embrace selling in a time where you feel like you shouldn’t. Writing Addictive Email with Bobby Klinck

Are you tired of writing weekly emails that nobody reads? Or are you scared to write weekly emails because you don’t know what to write about? My guest, Bobby Klinck is a lawyer turned entrepreneur. He started his business to help entrepreneurs with the legal stuff, but he quickly found that he had a hidden talent. He is an amazing copywriter! (And he’s extremely humble, which you’ll hear all about!) Bobby is teaching us how he writes weekly emails that his audience is excited to open. Heck, you might even say that his audience is addicted to reading the emails that he sends! You will definitely want to listen to the entire episode because it is full of insightful tips and examples, but here are some of my favorite tips from Bobby: If you don’t have fun writing your emails, your audience won’t have fun reading them. Email isn’t about sharing a summary of your blog post or podcast. Sharing personal stories helps your audience to connect to you. These stories don’t have to have anything to do with business. Your email should be 2/3 story and 1/3 a call to action to your content. You know you are hitting a chord when your readers respond back saying, “I never respond to these but…” The emails that your audience likes the most also have the most negative responses. “Love me or hate me. There is no money in the middle.” You should be celebrating the unsubscribes. The only way you can avoid unsubscribes is to not send emails at all. After hearing about emails with subjects like “I don’t like Sweet Baby Jesus” and “I love you more than Dick’s,” you are going to be inspired to draft emails that your audience will be addicted to! Imposter Syndrome is the feeling that you are not good enough even though there is evidence to the contrary. There are countless stories of professional athletes, singers, actors and authors who have struggled with this mindset issue even after making it big in their industry.
