lessons I learned through the people around me | managing self & relationships | islamic feelings
Life serves as a classroom through the people we encounter, where every interaction, be it joyful or challenging, offers an opportunity to learn. As the Prophet PBUH said, 'The believer who engages with others and patiently endures their harm receives greater reward than one who avoids people and is not patient with their harm.' (Source: Sunan Ibn Mājah 4032)
This episode shares several lessons learned from my relationships. Understanding when to nurture a relationship or when to let it go, for better or worse, holds significant importance. My hope is that this episode aids you in navigating your own relationships.

let's talk: unhealthy resolutions, loving yourself, hardships & more
Assalamu’alaikum everyone! I hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since we've connected, and I've missed our conversations. Today, I wanted to take some time to delve into a few topics that I believe are important for us all. As we step into this new year, I find it crucial to address the concept of New Year's resolutions. Often, we set these ambitious goals, but some resolutions can unknowingly lead us down paths of stress or unattainable expectations. So, let's talk about steering away from unhealthy resolutions and instead focus on nurturing a sense of peace within ourselves and our homes. My hope is that this episode resonates with you, offering guidance and insight as we embark on this new chapter. Here's to a year filled with growth, self-reflection, and building our inner peace. May this be a stepping stone toward a more fulfilling and enriching life for each one of us. Thank you for being here and sharing this journey with me.

Gratitude can positively impact the brain by activating the reward system, promoting neural plasticity, countering negativity bias, and enhancing social connections. By incorporating gratitude into our daily lives through practices such as gratitude journaling, expressing appreciation to others, or simply reflecting on what we are grateful for, we can harness these brain benefits and experience greater well-being and happiness. In this episode, I share my favorite way to make my gratitude list more intentional & focused 🤍

This week's episode takes a more structured approach as I delve into the random life lessons I've gathered over the past year. Whether it's a shift in our long-term goals or a deeper understanding of the people around us, these experiences can be our greatest teachers.

"my last words for you..." | islamic feelings
Many of us carry with us the weight of unspoken words, the "could haves" and "should haves" that linger in the corridors of our minds. These unspoken sentiments often haunt us, pulling us into a perpetual loop of regret and missed opportunities. It's a shared human experience, one that touches us all. However, it's essential to recognize that dwelling on these unexpressed feelings isn't conducive to our well-being, nor is it encouraged.
In this episode, I took to Instagram with a purpose – to invite my followers to share their last words for someone they love but can no longer convey those feelings to. This situation isn't unique; it might be a loved one who has passed away, a friend who has moved on, or circumstances that have created an unbridgeable gap. The responses poured in, each one carrying profound emotions and untold stories.
Regret often stems from our silence, from the moments we held back our love, appreciation, or forgiveness. By reaching out and sharing our heartfelt words, we can find a sense of closure and peace.
Through these heartfelt messages shared by my followers, I hope you can find solace and comfort. They serve as a reminder that it's never too late to express your love, gratitude, or apologies to those who matter most in your life. In doing so, we free ourselves from the burden of unsaid words, finding a path toward healing and inner peace.

This practical tips reminder is to give things time. A lot of times, we feel like we have to have all hands on deck in every situation, but sometimes, falling back and letting things be is a better approach. how to stop attaching your happiness to people | islamic feelings
In Islam, the concept of attaching one's happiness primarily to people is approached with caution and balance. While human relationships and connections are important, Islam teaches believers to place ultimate reliance and attachment on Allah (God) rather than solely depending on human interactions for their happiness. The Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH emphasize the importance of putting one's faith in Allah and finding contentment through a strong connection with Him. Islam encourages believers to strike a balance between forming meaningful relationships with others and maintaining a strong connection with Allah. While people can bring happiness and support, attachment solely to them can lead to disappointment and instability. By focusing on faith, personal responsibility, gratitude, and reliance on God, Muslims aim to find lasting contentment and joy while navigating the complexities of human relationships. This episode discusses a few personal tips in how to avoid attaching your happiness to people.
Anas reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Leave the world to its people. Whoever takes from the world more than what suffices him, he has taken a portion of his ruin while he is unaware.”

overcoming insecurities, building confidence, hijab tips + more | islamic feelings
This particular episode has been one of the most highly requested ones I've had so far. Discussing insecurities is never an easy topic, and as individuals strive to become better and more modest Muslims, each journey should lead to a destination. Throughout this process, it's common to experience moments of insecurity and a fading sense of confidence, particularly when one's appearance sets them apart as a Muslim. Not to mention, confidence is a positive quality valued in Islam. The belief in Allah's mercy, guidance, and support can instill a sense of confidence in a Muslim's life. Moreover, Islam promotes humility, which is different from low self-confidence. Muslims are encouraged to be humble and acknowledge that all their strengths and achievements come from Allah's blessings. This understanding prevents arrogance and helps maintain a balanced sense of confidence. Insecurities may arise from societal pressures and stereotypes that some Muslims face. Negative portrayals of Muslims in the media can contribute to feelings of insecurity and alienation. Additionally, misconceptions about Islam and the fear of being judged or misunderstood by others can create internal struggles for some individuals.
This episode delves precisely into this matter.

Islam & Special Needs: Are We Behaving Like The Quraysh? | Belal Elkadri Takeover EP
Special Needs and Islam is a discussion that a lot of people aren't educated or comfortable discussing. Unfortunately, due to the treatment special needs individuals receive in their local masjids and by their community, it is more convenient for parents or special needs individuals to feel the need to hide themselves. Due to this lack of knowledge and ignorance regarding how the Muslim community treats individuals with disabilities or special needs, we are effectively removing and harming a part of our ummah. Our masjids struggle to be inclusive, and unfortunately, some masjids aren't concerned about facilitating a part of the ummah. This important topic led me to invite Brother Belal Elkadri.
Belal Elkadri is a motivational speaker in the Metro Detroit area where he delivers sermons and lectures to empower the community and bring awareness to current issues. Brother Belal has been involved in helping employ the mental health community at ACCESS. He served as a host for Noor Kids News. In addition, as a community outreach coordinator with The Family Youth Institute, he helped inform Imams across the nation on a variety of research, including issues involving our youth, addiction, elderly care, parenting, and mental health. With Celebrate Mercy, Belal has hosted numerous webinars to honor the Prophet Muhammad. With MUHSEN, serving as the certification manager, Belal encouraged mosques across the nation to accommodate the special needs community. As a regional manager with Helping Hand, he has inspired donors to support humanitarian efforts around the world. Leading multiple classes on the Sabr App, a guided meditation app for Muslims, Belal has developed courses to help the spiritual and mental health of Muslims.

Depths of Dhikr | Final Ep | Islamic Feelings
Moving mountains through ministrations, Dhikr is not just words. It is how one remembers God and subconsciously moves oneself onto the righteous path. let's talk: pop psychology, ideologies & self-awareness | Islamic feelings
The prevalence of pop psychology is increasing, with more and more people sharing psychological facts that may be trendy but lack factual accuracy. This trend can lead individuals to engage in unqualified and harmful overanalysis of their emotions and experiences. In this episode, we discuss pop psychology and self-awareness, while also talking about the impact of different ideologies on Muslims today. While Islam encourages seeking help when necessary, it is crucial to differentiate between pop psychology and genuine psychological principles.

Al-Nawwas ibn Sam’an reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah strikes a parable of the straight path. On either side of the path are walls with open doors over which are hanging curtains. Upon the gate of the path is a caller, saying, ‘O people! Enter the straight path altogether and do not divert to the side!’ A caller is placed above the path and when anyone intends to open those doors in the slightest, he says, ‘Woe to you! Do not open it or else you will enter it!’ The path is Islam, the curtains are the limits of Allah, and the open doors are the prohibitions of Allah. The caller at the head of the path is the Book of Allah, and the caller above the path is an admonition from Allah in the heart of every Muslim.”

why are we tested? | Quranic Reflection Takeover Ep By Anse Dr. Farhana Yunus
"Why are we tested?"
"What is the purpose of this test?"
"How does creating a relationship with the Quran exactly help me in my tests?"
These are questions that cross our minds when we face hardships. We know Allah is there to help us, we know we are rewarded, and we know the Quran is our guidance through difficulty. However, for some reason, the burden of hardship continues to overwhelm us.
To discuss this important topic, I have teamed up with Anse Dr. Farhana Yunus from Rabata for this takeover episode. She sheds light on why we are tested and how we can find comfort in such painful trials.

Immigrant parents, decision-making & being the "dream child" | islamic feelings
The discussion surrounding decision-making and pursuing one's dreams while having immigrant parents is always challenging for most young adults. While you deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made, it also brings a sense of pressure to meet their expectations. As you progress in life and make choices that may be Islamically correct but deviate from the "ideal child mold," finding a balance between pleasing your parents and prioritizing your own happiness can be difficult. This episode delves into precisely this topic.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Never is a servant struck by worry or grief but let him say, ‘O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand, Your decision over me has passed, and Your decree upon me is in justice. I ask You by every name with which You have named Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to one of Your creatures, or kept hidden in the Unseen with You, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light within me, the banisher of my depression, and the expeller of my anxiety,’ then Allah will expel his worry and replace his grief with joy.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, should we study these words?” The Prophet said, “Of course, whoever hears them should study them.”

From work ethics to the way you treat people, there are plenty of good characteristics and "green signs" we can try to establish within ourselves & our relationships. This episode aims to highlight some positive "green signs" that can ACTUALLY help you. Cultivating these within yourself FIRST to become a better Muslim and seeking it out in others is key

Al-Zubayr ibn ‘Awwam reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"Lurking towards you are the diseases of the nations before you. Envy and hatred are the razor. I do not say they shave hair, but rather they shave the religion. By the One in whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you have faith and you will not have faith until you love each other. Shall I tell you what can affirm that for you? Spread peace between yourselves"

practical tips #3: trust your gut | islamic feelings
indecisiveness & "trusting our gut" can be very hard at times. in most cases, it is easy to change your mind and spin in the circles of indecisiveness but these circles usually go nowhere. however, if you make a decision that is incredibly rational & thought through, while referring to Islam in mind, it can make the process a lot easier.

feeling like an imposter within your faith | islamic feelings
Feeling like a fraud within your own faith or feeling like you're not "Muslim enough" can be a tough challenge when you're trying to grow in your faith. It can come from someone outside reminding you of your past, or from your own personal struggles making it hard to see yourself differently. You might feel unworthy or like you're not being "truthful" in your faith. This episode will cover some general tips on this big topic to hopefully help someone who is stuck between these feelings.

Whoever comes with five deeds, along with faith, will enter Paradise: one who preserves the five prayers, their ablution, their bowings, their prostrations, and their timings, who fasts the month of Ramadan, who performs Hajj pilgrimage to the House if he can find the means, who gives charity with a cheerful soul, and one who fulfills the trust.

letting worldly failures pour into your relationship with God | islamic feelings
the balance between your worldly success & failures can be overwhelming at times. sometimes seasons of your life can go by where you aren't necessarily receiving "any success". In some cases, you start to wonder if the test sent your way was a blessing or just a punishment. letting your worldly failures pour into your relationship with God can create a damaging view & make us believe that God is required to fulfill our needs & wants whenever we want, however this is far from the truth. this episode talks about exactly that :)

how to deal with an overwhelmingly busy schedule | islamic feelings
balancing your priorities in this world & your hereafter can become overwhelming sometimes. often in stages like this, it becomes nearly impossible to do anything because there is so much to do at once. this episode talks about how to deal with an overwhelmingly busy schedule while making time for yourself. ☆Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever absorbs his heart in love of the world will be entangled by three things: misery that will not cease to discomfort him, greed that will not achieve his independence, and vain hopes that will never reach their end. For the world is seeking and is sought. Whoever seeks the world, the Hereafter will pursue him until death comes to him and it seizes him. Whoever seeks the Hereafter, the world will pursue him until he exhausts his provision from it.”

what does it look like to love Allah right now? | islamic feelings
we all love Allah. we try our best to seek knowledge to better understand Him & this deen.. but love is always tested when things get hard, so how exactly does it look like to love Allah in difficulty?
♡
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Verily Allah ta’ala has said: ‘Whosoever shows enmity to a wali (friend) of Mine, then I have declared war against him. And My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more loved to Me than the religious duties I have obligated upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to me with nafil (supererogatory) deeds until I Love him. When I Love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, and his sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him; and were he to seek refuge with Me, I would surely grant him refuge (Hadith 38, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi)

5 tips on how to overcome feeling sad after making the right decision | islamic feelings
making the right decision doesn't always mean it's easy. making the right decision doesn't always mean it will make you happy at first. at some moments in life, you will be required to make decisions that won't necessarily make you happy even if they are right. what's important to remember is that our right decisions today protect the security of our future happiness to come.
you won't always get the fruits of your seed in a day, but if you continue to take care of it.. you eventually will..
our decisions are the same, you won't always feel happy about the right choice, but you will years later ♡

5 tips for a healthy detachment from the dunya | islamic feelings
we have all heard how it's important to detach yourself from the deep love of the dunya & learn to prioritize your deen. however, learning how to do it in a healthy way is key. one place we all get lost is in the concept of thinking that we are in complete control over every single thing. this mindset can easily destory someone while creating a endless chase & love for the dunya as an individual imagines the idea of having authority over all his affairs. We are only capable of doing what's in our capacity, and even that is through God's allowance. stringing your hearts happiness on the contingencies of you successfully moving a mountain will only hurt you. another place alot of us get lost is in the pain caused by the dunya. pain is unavoidable. it is bound to happen at one point or another. pain is also one of the big factors that can either consume you deeply in the dunya or help you detach in a healthy manner. using pain to learn more about Allah & reintroduce yourself in a new light can be the best investment you ever make. no one can heal the way God does. tawakkul: Your protector & Your helper | islamic feelings
tawakkul (trust) is a big part of our faith as muslims. & while alot of us keep tawakkul in Allah SWT when things are going good, it's equivalently important, if not more, to keep firm & stronger tawakkul in Allah when things don't go your way. One of the big questions I ask myself everytime things don't go my way is "do I want to do this, or do I want God to do this".. and any person, who has even the slightest tawakkul will agree that letting God handle your affairs is the best choice. While we make our decisions on our limited knowledge, God makes it on his infinite. Accepting qadr & having faith in trying times isn't easy, especially when anxiety & fear is in the picture. so this ep is here to cover exactly that :)☆

late night talks: relationship with regret, love and logic, storytime + more | islamic feelings
Assalamu’alaikum everyone! This week's episode covers a wide range of topics from understanding our relationship with regret, love/logic & more. One of the important concepts being how perspective drives performance. This also applies when we try to define success in the dunya. the most common definitions of success at a worldly level is to be at peace. reality is, no matter what you have, even if it's everything you dream of & more, you will never be 100% at peace for a long period of time in the dunya. the dunya will forever be changing, somedays you will win & somedays you will lose. regardless, learning to be content drives you to true success. content with the fact that things might go your way, be grateful. content with the fact that when things don't go your way, there is something better.
content with the fact that this dunya is just a part of the destination, not the destination itself.
Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler along a path.” Ibn Umar would say, “If you make it to the evening, do not wait for the morning. If you make it to the morning, do not wait for the evening. Take from your health for your sickness, and from your life for your death.”

18 life lessons I learned in 18 years | islamic feelings
from learning how to deal with redirection, building meaningful bonds and learning when to let go, this episode is filled with a wide range of life lessons I've learned in my 18 years. for some hearing "no" or dealing with redirection is one of the hardest things to face especially when you had an expectation. However, one of the biggest things I've learned is that "no" is just another step closer to "yes". You will hear lots of "no's" in your life, they only lead you to what is best. We all plan, but Allah is the best of planners & when you see Allahs plan being played out and it isn't feeling good to you.. remember that God makes his decisions with his infinite knowledge as compared to us. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.” (65:2-3) ☆playlists with episodes in order can be found in the link on my page :)

Emotional investments: how to stop wasting time with the wrong people| islamic feelings
one of the biggest fantasies that people live in is this perception that one day someone is going to come in and save them from all their issues & heal them from the negligence they did by not emotionally investing in themselves. reality is, this is not true. we all have baggage that needs healing and help, but to sit in misery thinking that someone will come and save you is plain injustice to you & your future capabilities. when dealing with emotional investments, alot of feelings, hardwork & time is on the line.. but what happens if you feel confused if the person you are investing in is even right in the first place?
this episode helps you navigate through the confusion of whether you are making the right choice or not ♡.

Presents of paradise EP 2: how falsely being blamed for a crime showed a man the truth of his family
I uploaded the first episode of presents of paradise last week which shared the story of "bodies for wealth". This week's episode shares a real story of a man who had a beautiful family consisting of his wife & 3 kids. However, one night on his way home from work, he found himself in a situation being blamed for one of the biggest crimes a man can commit..
while the crime seemed like the worst thing in the moment, this was just Allahs way of showing him the truth behind his family... ☆☆☆ all episodes and series can be found in playlists clicking the link on my page :)

Presents of paradise EP 1: bodies for wealth: how a woman changed her life | islamic feelings
one of the things that always raises my imaan is beautiful heartfelt incidents.. incidents where we truly learn how Allah is the best of planners. My new series " presents of paradise" is filled with real stories that were collected by an alim in a book during his years of studies through different shaykhs & more. this series is filled with stories that share how the worst situation ends up becoming the best ones.. from a woman nearly selling her body for wealth, a man falsely being blamed for a crime and realizing the truth behind his three kids, a man who's sadqah saved him under water & how the birth of unwanted blind child was a form of God's greatest mercy for his parents, this series is filled with beautiful heart moving REAL incidents. Maalik ibn Dinaar said “Stories are the presents of Jannah".. with that being said, I hope you enjoy these presents just as much as i did ♡

disloyalty: cheaters, scattering yourself among people, loyalty to our unloyal desires|islamicfeelings
disloyalty has become increasingly normalized as a trait to be proud of since it makes one "strong" or "alpha", yet disloyalty only reveals the incapability of developing meaningful relationships. The one who cant be loyal to people is loyal to his desires & our desires are never loyal to us. This ep also talks about how there's no doubt that the effort & actions we put forth attract people to love & appreciate us more.. but an honest question that arises is "do the people in your life love you for you, or for what you can provide".

unfortunately it's no doubt that certain cultures value having a son more than anything else. it's even more unfortunate how some toxic cultures make women " valueless" until they give a son. for generations, these cultural traditions of having a son to " fix" a man has kept women in abusive and loveless marriages. while parenting is never easy.. it doesn't take a parent to realize that feeding into someone's narcissism & arrogance for doing nothing is not right. this episode talks about exactly that ♡
