The  Wilderness Safaris team took to the roadin the country's remote  north-west to ensure staff and nearby communities the oppertunity to  recieve their vaccinations. The Miss Namibia Organisation announced that Miss Teen Namibia, Alexis Swart, will represent Namibia at the Miss Teen Universe 2021 Pageant in Dubai in late October. Alexis, originally from Cape town, set foot on Namibian shores at the age of 5. The vibrant 19-year-old joined Michelle Mclean, from the Michelle Mclean children’s trust and former Miss Universe in studio to explain more about the beauties upcoming representation of Namibia in the Miss Teen Universe.

The two Namibians Star sprinters took Europe by storm recently, when they dominated top class international fields. Beatrice Masilingi won two events in Poland and Switzerland, and came third in Stockholm in a new Namibian 200m record of 22,65 seconds, while Christine Mboma remained unbeaten in three events, setting the world's fastest 400m time of 48,54 seconds in Poland in the process. coach Henk Botha accompanied them to Tokyo Japan, and shows us their training facilities before the big weekend.

After a weekend filled with exciting football, the crew reacts to Namibia reaching the semi-finals of the Cosafa Cup after beating Zimbabwe 2-0 ovr the weekend. Elsewhere, an emotional Messi won his first trophy with Argentina after they beat Brazil by a solitary goal at the Maracana Stadium, making it only the second time Brazil have lost a match there, plus we look it Italy's penalty shootout victory over England in the EURO's 202 Final at Wembley Stadium in London. Away from sports, tempers get heated when the crew starts to discuss Namibia's wealth inequality, with emphasis on land ownership.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are limited to a single guest in studio. This week we Namibia's Tourist of the year for 2020, Tina Haulyondjamba. The all-round travel influencer shares her experiences and gives us some travel tips, especially for those balling on a budget.

Neville and Q look back at last night's EURO 2020 Semi-final between England and Denmark, which England won after a hard fought 2 hours of football. This sets up an enticing final on Sunday between England and Italy, who have arguably been the best team at the tournament. Locally, Namibians once again showed their disregard for COVID-19 regulation in videos that surfaced over the weekend, where the aftermath of a heavily attended funeral turns into a ruckus, with someone doing doughnuts with a BMW in front of the cemetery, while another pulled out a gun and started firing it off in the air. We continue our commentary on the EURO's, with England making history last night by beating Germany in the round of 16, making it the first time they beat Germany in the knockout stages of a cup competition in 55 years. The crew then get into a debate on firstly, whether one can respect the decision of anti-vaxers to net get the jab, and secondly whether one should respect that decision, granted the vaccination project is essentially a "group assignment". Monday we welcomed back Neville, today we welcome back sports, with the EURO's and Copa America in full swing. The crew reacts to Spain's emphatic Extra Time win over Croatia, and the total shock of reigning World Champions France falling to little Switzerland on penalties. Merja shares a story of a couple with serious wage disparities going on holiday accompanied by other people and deciding to share the costs equally. Obviously the one cannot keep up with some of the rather exorbitant tastes and opt out of those. He shares his difficult fight with COVID-19, giving an emotional account of the mental battle, which he came close to losing many times. According to reports, the oxygen situation is improving around the country, but the crew still feels we dont have a grip on the situation as a nation. This naturally drifts towards President Geingob's visit to the Katutura State Hospital the previous day, with the Head of State fielding many question, including his now controversial decision to opt for a vaccine that is not yet available in the country, casting doubt over the current vaccines GRN is administering in Namibia for those who were already skeptical. Namibia has not just suffered from the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, but  also an outbreak of the African Migratory and Red Locusts that has been  terrorizing communities in the country's north-eastern region bordering  Zambia and Botswana. The locusts were first reported in February 2020 in  small numbers, but there has since been a significant surge in swarms  spotted in various parts of the region. Secondly is some fresh reporting of mobile phones confiscated from incarcerated #Fishrot accused former Justice Minister Sacky Shanghala and former Fishcor CEO James Hatuikulipi. An unusual morning as we start by paying respects to rapper DMX and Prince Phillip, both of whom passed in the 72 hours since our last airing. We also empathize with Mzanzi rapper AKA and the family of his fiancé who allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the balcony of their 10th floor hotel room in Cape Town. We do kick on to the COVID-19 update, and to sports, where Namibian runner Christine Mboma broke the 30 year old women's 400m record with a time of 49.24 at All Comers Meet in Lusaka, Zambia. Perhaps more astonishingly, in second place was another Namibian with Beatrice Masilingi clocking an equally impressive 49.53. And when we get to the news, President Geingob's remarks directed at Fishrot accused Sacky Shanghala at a public lecture over the weekend signaled a rare public break from his former cabinet ministers, sparking a reaction from the crew. For the first time in a long time, we never even touch the newspapers this morning. After the COVID-19 update and a brief look at the markets, Merja leads the crew down the path of homophobia, inspired by the controversy surrounding the Ministry of Home Affairs, or as we quickly learn in the comments, now being 'referred' to as the Ministry of Homophobic Affairs. This discussion takes place as protests in front of the said ministry begin. There is a lengthy discussion on LGBTQ+ rights and gender relation in our society. Then we get to the biggest news of the day, a gay couple struggling to bring their twin daughters, born to a surrogate mother in South Africa, into Namibia. Its impossible to focus on anything else after seeing a headline reading 'Shangula procures unapproved COVID vaccines'. Yes, our health minister, after meeting with the NMRC, allegedly informing them he was under no legal obligation to listen to them in the process, went ahead and procured unapproved COVID Vaccines, through middle-men, spending well over 500 million NAD. News like this of course raises skepticism around government's national vaccination efforts and the vaccines which themselves were unpopular to start with. Trustco  Insurance, through its Legal Shield product, has devoted itself to  support two University of Namibia Law students for the 2021 academic  year. The students will receive financial support as well as an  opportunity to conduct their Work Integrated Learning at Trustco  Insurance upon graduation. This year’s recipients – Mayemo Abigail Namakaliza and Doreen Lyomba  will each be awarded Legal Shield bursaries amounting to N$30 000.00,  after undergoing a vigorous selection process that considered an array  of criteria as well as personal attributes. The financial assistance  will enable them to focus on their studies rather than the financial  hardships one encounters when pursuing a higher education qualification.  The Legal Shield bursary initiative has awarded in excess of N$1.1  million to numerous students since 2002. Upon completion of their studies, the two recipients will be granted the  opportunity of employment at Trustco Insurance where they will each  receive valuable practical experience in the legal working environment.  This will equip them for the future by enhancing their confidence in  executing tasks. The bursaries awards were handed over by Trustco Insurance’s Head of  Claims, Mr. Kevin Anderson, who placed great emphasis on the fulfilment  of social responsibilities. He stated, “It is indeed a proud moment for  us as Legal Shield to change the lives of our future law makers. This  long tradition of investing into our youth is not merely a financial  investment, but a moral obligation to make our society a better place  through our social investment initiatives.” The next generation of the  van Rooyen entrepreneurial dynasty, Le Hugo van Rooyen, had the  opportunity to sit down with the recipients and shared some valuable  tips in legal studies, a career he regards highly for the success of a  corporate entity.  “I am equally excited to witness this historic  handover, to see the energy and fire in the eyes of Doreen and Mayemo.  They are the ones who need to take the judiciary system to the next  level in Namibia” he said. Trustco Insurance continues to assist law students annually by means  of bursaries and employment opportunities. To date, a total of 46  bursary recipients have benefitted from the financial assistance  provided through the Legal Shield Bursary initiative. The management of  Trustco Insurance believes that investing in promising legal students is  an investment in the future. Legal Shield was launched in 2000 and was  at that time the only Namibian legal insurance provider. It offers  affordable cover against legal costs stemming from civil, criminal,  matrimonial, labour and administrative matters.

This one is odd to place, it's a lazy Monday, plus its missing Neville's disruptive energy. The crews follows up on news from the previous day as the rape accused former teacher made his first appearance in court, pleading not guilty and vowing to counter-sue the 2 complainants, on of whom is a minor. The crew reflects with disgust the recent case of a teacher raping a pupil on school premises, during school hours, at Jan Mohr Secondary School. We question how this teacher, accused of the same crime in 2013, was still allowed to teach. The results of the Regional Council and Local Authority Elections are finally starting to take shape as town around the country starts to announce Mayors and Management Committee members. Job Amupanda was, perhaps unsurprisingly announced as the new Mayor for Windhoek, becoming the youngest ever Mayor in an independent Namibia, aged just 33. The crew also scrutinizes the application by the ECN to the courts, to stage a re-run of certain elections in the Hardap and \\Karas regions, due to what they are calling procedural errors in the process at the affected polling stations.

A special morning on the show as the crew welcomes to the studio Miss Namibia 1991, Miss Universe 1992, Michelle McLean. We have a wide ranging conversation covering her childhood, her rise to prominence, and her work since. She drops an exclusive anecdote about then citizen Donald Trump pursuing her during the 1992 Miss Universe pageant.

In the aftermath it the recently passed elections, coalitions are being formed in local authorities all around the country, with no one single party holding an outright majority in many of these local authorities. The crew discusses the various possibilities, with many of the opposition parties unwilling to join a flailing SWAPO party for any alliances, opting rather, to try and find common ground amongst themselves. The crew chews on this novel phenomenon in our young democracy. We continue to test-drive our new look in an effort to perfect it for 2021, exciting times ahead.

Merja is back in the studio, the boys poke fun at her vacation before discussing the rising COVID-19 numbers and what this means for the country, with the President set to address the nation on the very issue later in the day. We also manage to squeeze in a lengthy reaction to some football, rugby, and boxing action over the weekend. Then we get Merja's reaction to the election results.

Neville and Q-Base continue their election coverage as it becomes more evident, with more and more results being announced, that the SWAPO party is continuing on its downward trajectory with, particularly newcomers IPC and LPM, doing really well. The show ends on a high, with the #MorningMixLIVE giving away to dining vouchers to the Aldstadt Restaurant in Swakopmund, as we edge closer the Fittest In The Namib competition in mid-December.

It is Special Election day, and 2 days before Namibians go to the polls for the second time in 2 years. We welcome Ms. Lina Ndengu from the Electoral Commission of Namibia, ECN, to talk us through the process and explain some of the finer details around election day and voter registration. The crew then takes a look at how Party Politics affects business in Namibia, with particular emphasis on the entertainment industry. Neville unwittingly becomes our case study for the discussion.

Namibia's COVID-19 active case-load continues to drop, even with new cases being recorded everyday. The crew reflects on this, before jumping into a conversation about Millennial Slang, with Neville having recently been introduced to the term 'Ghosting'. This sparks a much broader discussion about 'ghosting' itself.

The crew reflects on local sports after the Brave Warriors lost their AFCON Qualifiers tie against Mali 2-1 at the Sam Nuyoma Stadium. We look at sports development in the country, with a clear lack of funding at grassroots level, and a deficiency of revenue streams for Sports Institutions, creating an environment that is not conducive for identifying and developing young talent, making it hard for many to take up nearly any sport discipline as a profession.

The crew tackles the news of former Fishcor CEO Mike Nghipunya being fired officially, almost a year from his arrest for alleged links to the #Fishrot scandal. This of course comes in the wake of an article in a local daily claiming Nghipunya was still running the State Owned Enterprise from his jail cell. We also look at the tension between Namibia and Botswana as the bereaved family lays to rest 5 members of its clan. Plus, South Africa and Malawi may be getting stuck in a situation of their own, with Pastor Bushiri now a wanted fugitive after somehow fleeing South Africa for his native Malawi.

Neville misses the Monday, in steps Sammy. The crew track a story in one the local dailies, claiming that #Fishrot accused former CEO of Fishcor, Mike Ngipunya, is still running the company from his jail cell. Press secretary Alfredo Hengari also comes in for some scrutiny as his comments from last week continue to haunt him.

Some light Friday banter as the crew looks a video that surfaced on Social Media during the week of on MTC employee's altercation with 2 sex workers who claim to have spend the whole night with him. Also, its Friday the 13th, are you afraid?

Another super-sub joins us this morning, Sammy aka Tate Nawaness takes up the missing Neville's spot. The crew continues to track the potential diplomatic crisis unfolding between Namibia and Botswana. We also discuss the search for a new Prosecutor General, with scrutiny following the potential candidates.

Merja is back, sort of... A highly charged morning with the crew discussion the recent shooting of 3 Namibian nationals and their Zambian cousin by the Botswana Defense Force. Over the weekend, Joe Biden was projected the winner of the 2020 US Presidential Election. This makes Donald Trump one of very few one-term presidents in American history. An easy Friday after a good week on the #MorningMixLIVE, the crew reflects once again on the US elections, with votes from some key states still pending. After discussions on corruption in Namibia, the crew settles on an easy question for the morning; what is the worst rumor you have heard about yourself?

US 2020 Presidential Election Results continue to come in, with Biden widening his lead over Trump as mail-in ballots, which lean overwhelmingly democrat, start to get tabulated. The crew continues to track the latest developments, plus a round-up of the remaining matches from Matchday 3 in the UCL. Then the crew tries to figure out where to draw the line between disciplining your child and child abuse. This follows a story that has been developing since a video of an incident of alleged abuse was streamed onto social media by the daughter of Lucky Gawanab, former Ambassador of Namibia to Angola.

The crew does a round-up of Uefa Champions League results from Tuesday night, before jumping into the news of the day, US elections. With the polls closed and results staring to pour in, the crew runs through some of the key results, with Biden holding a lead that doesn't look sure to hold, especially given the memory of 2016.

We are joined in studio by local superstar Gazza for the morning. The multiple-award winning artist recently added another jewel in his trophy cabinet after scooping the Artist of the Decade award at the recently concluded Namibia Annual Music Awards. We chat about his 17-year long music journey.

This is a rather somber morning on the show, the team reflects on the finding of human remains in Walvis Bay, debating the possible role of the anonymous texter who tipped the police off about the location of the shallow grave. Witness, accomplice or perpetrator?

The crew welcomes back Neville to the studio after taking Monday, needless to say, things start normally with a COVID-19 update with Windhoek looking like the next epicenter for Namibia as the virus makes inroads into the community. And then, things somehow take a turn.

The state's glaring ineptitude sparks riots as 2 lives are lost and more than 400 people are left homeless. Meanwhile, the SWAPO Party has a 2-day introspection summit to take stock of 2019's election results.

Back to reality, Windhoek records 7 COVID-19 cases, 6 of which seemingly being community transmission, and Walvis Bay moving ahead to lifting alcohol prohibition with a surging case load. Also back in the headlines, FISHROT, as whistle-blower Jóhannes Stefánsson vows to finish what he started when the Fishrot Trial begins. That maks it 2 for 2 as the crew deliberately avoided these 2 topics the previous day.

Cold Weather Alert - Extreme cold conditions set to hit Namibia by Thursday morning. NAMIBIANS, especially residents of the southern parts of the country, have been warned to take precautionary measures against severe cold weather that is expected by Thursday. The extreme cold weather conditions are expected in Namibia with the arrival of the massive intense cold front over southern part of Africa by Thursday morning. According to Odillo Kgobetsi, the chief forecaster at the Namibia Metrological Services said cold and moist air will be in circulation will be brought in by the cold front which will cause rains over the south western half of Namibia by Friday. “Not only will the southern parts of Namibia become extremely cold, residents of the central and eatsrn parts of the country will also feel the effects of the cold front,” he said. The freezing weather conditions are expected to last well into the weekend. Weather forecasters indicated that the system is not only staying on course over the central Atlantic Ocean but is also strengthening substantially and should make for one of the most eventful winter weekends in Southern Africa in many years. The Snow Report website has predicted that up to 40mm of snow might fall on the highest peaks of South African mountain ranges over the weekend. - Informanté News

Silvester "Lollo" Goraseb March 24, 2019 — Namibia’s national soccer team, the Brave Warriors qualified for AFCON 2019 despite a 4-1 loss to Zambia in Lusaka on the 24thof March.Namibia advanced on a better head-to-head against Mozambique who lost 3-2 to Guenea Bissau. This is the third time that Namibia qualify for the African soccer extravaganza since independence. We spoke to Silvester "Lollo" Goraseb about the qualification. Goraseb is now is a retired Namibian footballer, and competed for the Namibia national football team from 1996-2001, including the 1998 African Cup of Nations.
