We again look at the Bible book of Ecclesiasthes. The writer encourages us to seek the Wisdom of God, and comnpares Wisdom with an inheritance of land. Quotes: " The fear of the Lord is the begining of Wisdom." and "Wisdom preserves those who have it."

Wealth won't satisfy you, and it won't make you happy. The more you have, the more you want. By nature, we are all greedy. If you gather wealth, you could lose it overnight. And when you die, you have to leave it all behind.

Whoever loves money, never has enough, whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. We check up on what the Bible book of Ecclesiasthes has to say about wealth. These verses ask "As goods increase, what benefit are they to the owner except to feast his eyes on them?"

The concept of Eternity is certainly difficult to fathom. What does it mean that God has "set this concept in our hearts?"

Many of us have asked: “What is the point of everything, of living? What is the purpose of everything?”. We look at the Scriptures, seeking an answer to these questions.

Psalm 131 is a beautiful psalm of trust in the Lord. David, the psalmist, describes his calm contentment in his trust in God. This is our example.

Psalm 131 is very short, but it beautifully instructs us how to trust in God, in all humility. The opposite of humility is pride, and pride is something that the Bible warns against.

The writer of this psalm is looking forward to travelling to Jerusalem to worship. Likewise, our journey through life is often difficult, but ends in a great blessing. Blessed is the man who trusts in his God.

The psalmist expresses his longing to worship God in his temple. Historically, the Israelites all travelled to Jerusalem a few times per year for worship.

It sometimes seems that those who do wrong prosper, when Christians may suffer. Instead of worrying about this, this Psalm tells us to trust in the Lord, and put our lives in His hands.

Prayer can be difficult, and we sometimes need help. Psalm 61 may well serve as a model for our prayers to God when we are in trouble. Here David first prays for God's help, then for His protection, and then for his Kingship.

We have seen that Psalm 30 is primarily a psalm of thanksgiving. In this Psalm, king David confesses his pride and over-confident self-sufficiency. Divid's sin caused God to turn away from David until he confessed his sin in prayer.

This is a psalm about deliverance, and about replacing weeping with rejoicing and celebration. In this Psalm, David calls all of us to praise God for His mercy.

Psalm 23 tells us that the Lord provides all our needs, he guides us in all our ways, and He blesses us all our days.

The words of Psalm 23 have given strength to suffering Christians for centuries. It is a Psalm about the Good Shepherd, our Lord Himself, Who is Shepherd over us.

Jesus tells his disciples that he is the Way, and the Truth and the Life. This week we look at the second two - Truth and Life - of these reassurances. In modern understanding, absolute truth no longer exists. People want multiple choice questions where there are many "correct" answers.
