With fashion companies continuing Haute Couture fall fashion week, we discuss our thoughts on the highs and lows of the presentation amid this COVID era. Also, Kylie Jenner is under fire for not tagging a Black-owned brand, Loud Brands, in her Instagram posts after Wearing a dress from the label’s recent collection. Was she in the right? We start our discussion with our thoughts on the glaring reports about the non-inclusive culture limiting the careers and growth of Black creatives at Vogue and Conde Nast, partly perpetuated by a history of racism in fashion as well as specifically by Anna Wintour. In contrast, we celebrate the accomplishment of the recently appointed first Black editor-in-chief of Harper's BAZAAR, Samira Nasr. With the recent shakeup at Givenchy, LVMH tapped Matthew M. Williams of Alyx to be its next creative director. How will this pan out?  

With the fight for justice and racial, economic, political, and social equality continuing all over the world, we take a look at the efforts by fashion industry organizations, like the CFDA, figures, like Virgil Abloh, and companies to provide opportunities and spaces for Black people and minorities. We also dive into the recent blunderous erasure of Black voices in fashion committed by Forbes of the work of Black designer Anifa Mvuemba, which she was the first designer during this era of COVID-19 to premier a dynamic digital fashion show of her Hanifa sub-label, Pink Label Congo.

During this period of protests for civil rights and equality in the United States in the wake of the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, we begin the episode discussing the history of racism in the country and its negative effect on society and the African American Community. We then dive into our takes on the "Chiffon Trenches" memoir by Andre Leon Talley, who served as the first African American and Black man to be the Creative Director of Vogue, paving the way for the likes of so many talents, including Edward Enninful and Tyler Mitchell.   

 With the MET Gala canceled, we reminisce on our favorite moments from the incredible red-carpet event and its effect on the fashion system. In addition to discussing some current hot topics such as Gareth Pugh's move to purchase back his brand from Rick Owens, we also dive into the nuances of systemic racism in fashion. Using Black designer Angela Dean as an example,  we shed light on the way the fashion industry has rewritten history, silencing the voices of designers of color. 

As we approach the end of the quarantine period across the world, we discuss the adjustment that several fashion companies made from financial strife at Neiman Marcus to L'Officiel's decision to reduce its print run as freelancers demand overdue payments. Also, Valentino's appointment of former Gucci exec, Jacopo Venturini, as its CEO, has us shook! Ending the podcast on a celebratory note, we also discussed our thrill for the rise of "Say So" and "Savage" remixes on Billboard and talked about our style wishlist for Doja Cat and Meg the Stallion.

Keeping this quarantine train going, we get to speak with the LEGENDARY Nicola Formichetti about his rise in fashion from working for the Pineal Eye London boutique to becoming the artistic and creative director for Lady Gaga and many of her iconic projects. Through his insight, he gives us a peek into how his journey built him into a force not to be reckoned.

Today we take our time to reflect on the tenure of Claire Wright Keller at Givenchy as she exits the historic house. We talk about how the pandemic is currently affecting Condé Nast and the broader industry now that fashion companies have recently resumed business in China.
