DeFi & The Future of Finance - The Winning Blockchains & Dapps - With Ryan Allis

In this podcast explain we why Decentralized Finance, or DeFi, is making the old financial system more efficient and secure through code -- while reducing costs and expanding access. We also talk about Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Solana, Terra, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, Waves, Huobi Eco Chain, Celo, Arbitrum, and Bitcoin. DeFi uses blockchains, smart contracts, price oracles, AMMs, and open source code to allocate and store capital more efficiently and securely than traditional markets. Instead of needing to trust a large institution, decentralized blockchains, validated by thousands of distributed node operators, offer better security and speed than the legacy system, with much of its legal structuring dating back to the 1930s and 1940s and much of its code written in the 1970s and 1980s. Legacy markets are centralized, opaque, and are open less than 35 hours per week. Blockchain-based markets are available continuously, trade 24/7/365, are transparent and interoperable, and their contracts are smart -- built with code instead of words. Filing cabinets and terabytes of Docusign repositories are being replaced by Github, the world’s open-source code repository. Even governments are getting on board with China, Europe, the USA, the UK, Nigeria, and many others actively launching blockchain-based Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC). Welcome to the era of programmable money. Read more at: https://coinstack.substack.com/p/defi-and-the-future-of-finance-part-7eb

Ethereum: The World's Most Used Blockchain

Ethereum: 1. Settles more daily value than Bitcoin ($22B vs. $6B) 2. Has much higher daily revenues than Bitcoin ($7M vs. $500k) 3. Has way more apps with $1B in TVL than Bitcoin (13 vs. 0) And now with the launch of EIP-1559 it will begin to reduce its supply by using its transaction fees to burn Ether.  In early 2022 it will move to a Proof of Stake (PoS) network and will begin to have a deflationary supply -- meaning that its supply will be going down every year -- while Bitcoin's supply will continue to go up until 2140.  In this podcast we update you on what's happening with Ethereum and its native currency Ether (ETH). Are the Bitcoin & Ethereum Bulls Coming Back?

it looks like the bulls are returning as Bitcoin has had its first daily close above its 200 day MA and grew in price from $29k to $39k (+33% in the last seven days)... but will it be a temporary bump or the start of a sustained rally toward the expected Fall 2021 Double Peak? In this episode we share the weekly crypto news, talk about BTC nearing $40k and Ether passing $2400, share the top fundraises of the week, and talk about family offices and institutions getting more exposure into digital assets. It’s exciting times in the world of Ethereum with the network’s much anticipated EIP-1559 set to go live next week on August 4, 2021. We also mention Fireblocks, Genesis Digital, Eco, Amazon hiring for a blockchain role, the Bitcoin Short Squeeze, Binance and FTX leverage reductions, BlockFi's future IPO plans, Nigeria's CBDC plans, and The Delphi Podcast with Santiago Santos from Parafi Capital. The Future of Money: Stablecoins & Central Bank Digital Currencies

This episode of Coinstack reviews the private stablecoin market for both centralized stablecoins like USDT and USDC as well as decentralized stablecoins like Dai and UST -- and the potential for China, the USA, and Europe to develop Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). We talk about the regulatory environment, the Presidential Working Group on Financial Markets and their meeting earlier this week on Stablecoins -- and how a public-private partnership is being formed that has the chance to put the USA ahead of China on the path to a digital dollar. We also talk about stablecoin reserves. Did you know that USDC has 73% of its reserves held in cash, cash equivalents and U.S. Treasuries, while USDT has just 26%? This safer reserve practice, has in part, led to Circle's USDC rise in the stablecoin market the last year -- going from 10% to 20% market share. USDT (Tether) remains the leader with 60% market share, but how long will that last? Learn what you need to know about digital currency and the future of money -- as together we build a global financial system that works for everyone this decade.

Double Peak Theory & Our Dec 2021 Bitcoin & Ethereum Forecast

The trillion dollar question is whether there will be a second peak for crypto markets later in 2021. We think so. In this issue we introduce Double Peak Theory and the on-chain signals that show we have likely bottomed and are on our way up to new All Time Highs (ATHs) in 2021. Double Peak Theory states that just like Bitcoin in 2013 and Ethereum in 2013, we will see a second peak in the Fall AFTER a temporary 50%+ pullback mid-year. But what could these new highs be? We are forecasting Bitcoin (BTC) will pass $100k by the end of 2021 and Ether (ETH) will reach $7k+.  Listen to understand why we expect to see a massive Fall 2021 in crypto -- and the drivers of this big move.  Since the June 26 bottom that we called, BTC is up 14% from $30,184 to $34,294 and ETH is up 32% from $1719 to $2275. We’re not fully out of the woods yet, but now is the time to invest. ==== Subscribe to our free newsletter for smart crypto investors at coinstack.substack.com Join our Telegram Channel at t.me/thecoinstack

Why A16Z's $2.2B Crypto Fund is a Bigger Deal Than Most People Think

Most people think Andreessen Horowitz' huge new $2.2B crypto fund is important because of the eye popping amount raised. But it's not just about more dollars for their crypto portfolio -- it's ALSO about creating a "Regulatory Superteam" who can help lay the foundation for clarity in blockchain regulations within the United States. Yes, A16Z is like the Brooklyn Nets -- but for crypto. At least when Durant, Harden, and Irving are all healthy. Last Thursday, A16Z announced not only the largest crypto fund in venture capital history but also the additions of Dr. Tomicah Tilleman, a former advisor to President Biden and Hillary Clinton, and Bill Hinman, the former Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance. Their task ahead -- work with regulators like Gary Gensler at the SEC to create a clear framework that enables innovation within decentralized crytographically-secured blockchains to thrive as we lead in building a new global financial system based on smart contracts -- while getting rid of the scams that give crypto a bad name. With China giving up its leadership role in crypto the last month -- it's time for the USA to take the lead. And the public-private partnerships forged by thoughtful and long-term focused industry participants like A16Z can be critical in making the USA a leader in this new epoch of computing. ======== Read more in this week's newsletter: https://coinstack.substack.com/ Telegram Group: http://t.me/thecoinstack

Are We Near The Bottom for Bitcoin & Ethereum? We Think So.

Crypto markets have been crashing the last two months. Bitcoin (BTC) is down from $64k to $30k since April 14, 2021, driven by China's ban and the need to increase renewable energy usage. Ether (ETH) has crashed even more, from $4300 to $1900.  And other top cryptoassets like Polkadot and Solana are more than 60% off their peaks. Everything's on sale. So, are we at the bottom? Can we go down further? And will we have a double peak in 2021 like we saw in 2013. In this episode, we talk about where we think the bottom is, when we'll get there, and 10 reasons we think we'll be heading back up in crypto markets later this Summer. ==== For more see our newsletter at coinstack.substack.com and join our Telegram group at t.me/thecoinstack Coinstack -- for the smart crypto investor.
