Peter McCormack: The Bitcoiner's Journey
I’ve admire and respect Peter McCormack’s hustle - he ramped up What Bitcoin Did quickly to become one of, if not the I think, most downloaded Bitcoin podcast. He’s been generous when I’ve asked him for some advice on growing the podcast, how to approach finding sponsors, etc. It’s been interesting to watch him evolve into a full on Bitcoiner over the past couple years. And now he’s diving headfirst into filmmaking as part of his new project, Defiance. It was fun to catch up with Pete, hope you all enjoy the conversation.Citizen Bitcoin on TwitterCitizen Bitcoin PodcastCitizen Bitcoin Layer One merch collectionBitcoiner's BestMusic: Moon in the Sky by HobotekLinks from the episode:What Bitcoin DidDefiance PodcatPeter on Twitter

John Vallis is one of my very favorite Bitcoin podcasters. I just love his style and his broad knowledge base. I had a great time chatting with John on his podcast, Bitcoin Rapid Fire, last year. I knew this was going to be a fun one and it didn’t disappoint. Andy Edstrom is a wealth manager who has fallen down the bitcoin rabbit hole. He started writing content to justify a small stake in bitcoin for his clients and that turned into the new book “Why Buy Bitcoin” - a great book to recommend to family and friends thinking about an investment in bitcoin. Andy’s history in the finance industry gives him a valuable perspective as one of early adopters of bitcoin from the industry. In this episode we get into that history and perspective, we discuss where the finance industry currently is in terms of moving toward embracing bitcoin as an asset. We talk about monetary maximalism and how bitcoin might change our economy. Brandon Quittem: Bitcoin Culture Wars and The Bitcoin-Fungi Analogy
Brandon Quittem burst onto the bitcoin scene like a mushroom breaking through three inches of asphalt when he published the first part of his bitcoin-fungi analogy in December 2018. I love biology and nature in general, and have a particular interest in mushrooms and fungi - they are incredibly interesting lifeforms - and I enjoy foraging for morels in the springtime. So Brandon was toward the top of my list of bitcoiners to talk to when I started doing these interview episodes. In this one Brandon and I start of with some talk about this Faketoshi/Hodlonaut mess and a piece about Bitcoin culture wars that Brandon published a couple months ago. We talk about potential future culture wars around privacy and fungibility vs chain transparency for supply verification and about the declining subsidy and transition to a fee market to support network security. Then we dig into the mycelium and mushroom analogy and Brandon gives us a preview of the upcoming third and final part of the series.

Peter McCormack: Building What Bitcoin Did
Peter McCormack’s work on What Bitcoin Did has just straight up inspired me to keep pushing forward on this podcast. I really just wanted to sit down and get to know him better. We get into Peter’s history growing up in Bedford, England, discovering the internet and creating websites and brands. We talk about building What Bitcoin Did, Peter’s podcasting process, a bit of English football and his hopes and dreams of becoming the King of Bedford, England and buying the Bedford Town Football Club. It was a ton of fun and I hope you all enjoy this chat as well.

Ansel Lindner: Bitcoin History, Maximalism, Ethics and Renaissance
Ansel Lindner has been one of the most important people in my bitcoin journey, his Bitcoin and Markets podcast was the first staple of my bitcoin podcast rotation. In this long, ranging, late night discussion with Ansel we get into his bitcoin history, discuss Bcash, Ethereum and the former bitcoiners who jumped ship to lead those communities. We discuss why bitcoin is different and what bitcoin maximalism means to us. We talk Austrian economics and the ethics of money production. Toward the end we get a bit cosmic, discussing how bitcoin affects the human spirit and the coming bitcoin-fueled human renaissance. Discussions like these are what I’m here for and why I’m a dedicated bitcoiner.
If you appreciate the pod, it would be a huge help if you took a minute to leave a rating and review wherever you get your podcasts!
