CMG28 – S3E13 – Dome’s Done

The Kinship and the Resistance consider each other “the enemy within” the dome, but with Joe McAlister’s help (very literally speaking), they are all soon without the dome. But the government comes in and wants to make sure that word of a thwarted alien invasion doesn’t get out to the general public. All the residents agree, and they are free to start living their lives again. Oh, did I say “thwarted” invasion? Hmmm Read more... CMG26 – S3E11 – Patrick and Purple Play Pivotal Parts

In “Love Is A Battlefield”, we see love being fought on two fronts. Barbie tries to bring Eva back from the Kinship, and Big Jim tries to reconnect with Junior. Both battles are lost, and the Kinship gets their new Queen. Things are not looking good for the Resistance. All this and some great idea for the Barbie of the Week in this issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette; Covering Chester’s Mill since 2013! Read more... Eva goes from 0 to full term in just a few minutes, while the “Kin-wives” gives their lives for the new Queen. CMG24 – S3E09 – Barbie’s Battery Boost, and Big Jim’s B

So, Big Jim, what’s plan B? Getting cornered in town with the kinship on all sides? Did that work better than “True Love’s Kiss” (™) on Barbie? I think not. Oh, and Barbie? Karen (and reader Barb) have no time for you after kicking Indy. I can’t even… Thanks for reading The Chester’s Mill Gazette: the only paper endorsed by Aktion Enterprises. Read more... CMG23 – S3E08 – Karen Calls the Cataclysm Counterfeit

Our very own Horoscope columnist Karen called it! She figured out that the pink stars falling in lines that our denizens of Chester’s Mill saw was really an IMAX showing of Apocalypse Now. Or more like Apocalypse Not Really. This week, however, we discuss Jim Rennie, James Watt, and some great acting by Dean Norris (Big Jim), Aisha Hins (Carolyn), and the breaking point reached by Mackenzie Lintz (Norrie). Is our intrepid band of resistance fighters already being torn apart? Is Barbie really all-in with the Kinship? And is Indy really a good judge of character? All this and more in this issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette; on the newsstands everywhere. And in your ear. Read more... CMG22 – S3E07 – It’s the End of the World As We Know It

Pink stars finally are falling in lines! (And kicking up ejecta.) But that’s not good news for the rest of the world. Turns out that being in the dome might actually be a good thing. Who knew! (Well, other than the alien minds taking over the good citizens of Chester’s Mill?) CMG21 – S3E06 – Christine Caged, Jorrie Jailed, Sam Stabs and Jim Jabs

While Aktion has her caged, Christine unloads a lot of what’s going on to cell-mate Big Jim. It’s pretty clear that the dome’s appearance is due to Eva and her. But the way she refers to humans as something other than herself, and keeps referring to “my people”, you have to wonder who she is now (or who she thinks she is). Questions are Mounting Under the Dome!

This is a Chester's Mill Gazette special report! The Dome came down over three weeks ago and we have more questions than answers. Is this a natural phenomenon or supernatural one? I have seen a few residents around that I believed to be dead. One such resident is Melanie Cross. The Dome may not be natural but it definitely has an effect on the elements. There has been dust storms, lightning, tornados and ice storms just to name a few. The Dome seems to be an organism of its own. It expresses it's feeling through the elements. Read more... TC54 – “GSM Crossover” The Green Mile

In episode 54 of TripleCast, Cory and Karen close out the "GSM Crossover" with "Chester's Mill Gazette" and discuss Stephen King adaptation, "The Green Mile." Paul Edgecomb is a slightly cynical veteran prison guard on Death row in the 1930's. His faith, and sanity, deteriorated by watching men live and die, Edgecomb is about to have a complete turnaround in attitude. Enter John Coffey, He's eight feet tall. He has hands the size of waffle irons. He's been accused of the murder of two children... and he's afraid to sleep in a cell without a night-light. And Edgecomb, as well as the other prison guards - Brutus, a sympathetic guard, and Percy, a stuck up, perverse, and violent person, are in for a strange experience that involves intelligent mice, brutal executions, and the revelation about Coffey's innocence and his true identity. TC53 – “GSM Crossover” Misery

In episode 53 of TripleCast, Cory is again joined by Karen from Golden Spiral Media's "Chester's Mill Gazette" and they discuss "Misery." Best-selling novelist Paul Sheldon is on his way home from his Colorado hideaway after completing his latest book, when he crashes his car in a freak blizzard. Paul is critically injured, but is rescued by former nurse Annie Wilkes, Paul's "number one fan", who takes Paul back to her remote house in the mountains (without bothering to tell anybody). Unfortunately for Paul, Annie is also a headcase. When she discovers that Paul has killed off the heroine in her favorite novels, her reaction leaves Paul shattered (literally). Read More... TC52 – “GSM Crossover” The Dead Zone

In episode 52 of TripleCast, Cory is joined by Karen from Golden Spiral Media's "Chester's Mill Gazette" to discuss the first of three Stephen King adaptations, "The Dead Zone." After awakening from a 5 year coma - the result of a serious car accident on his way home from an outing with his girlfriend - high school teacher Johnny Smith finds that he has developed the ability to foretell events. When his doctor and confidant, Dr. Sam Weizak, touches him he has flashbacks to the trauma Weizak suffered when separated from his mother during World War II but also knows that the woman lives in a nearby city. Johnny also finds himself pining for his girlfriend, Sarah Bracknell, who has now married and has a young child. With his powers misunderstood, Johnny relocates and tries to put it all behind him, working out of his home as a tutor. However, when he shakes the hand of a young and upcoming political candidate, he is confronted with evidence that the man will, as President of the United States, launch a cataclysm that may destroy all of mankind. CMG 15-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 15-Go Now Review

CMG 14-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 14-Turn Review

To everything, there is a season, turn, turn, turn - The Byrds. Or Lyle. Or Sara Niemietz & W.G. Snuffy Walden. Or the book of Ecclesiastes. Barbie turns a gun on Hunter. Mel takes a turn for the better, then a turn for the worse. And it looks like Big Jim is going to turn on the Dome. And this being the penultimate episode of the season (listen in if you need the definition), we go a bit longer than usual. Consider it a fatter edition of the paper. Whether you're a woman of science or a woman of faith, or even a guy, we want your Letters to the Editor on the episode "Turn" at the Chester's Mill Gazette. CMG 13-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 13-Black Ice Review

Barbie hits some black ice while driving, sending the ambulance on its side and impaling Julia. (Now he knows how those of us who live in Atlanta feel when we get an ice storm.) Big Jim and Junior’s relationship is (back) on ice, but Big Jim and Pauline’s relationship might just be thawing. The egg arrives via air mail to Zenith, but you “can’t touch dis”. And Lyle arrives via slow boat to Chester’s Mill speaking of, what else, the End of the World(tm). Maybe that was his vision, but it seems more like self-directed prophecy. All that and more in this cold-off-the-presses issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette! Read more... And Rebecca observes that winter is coming...to Chester’s Mill. Listen in as Karen and Doug discuss this week’s episode, “The Fall”. CMG 11-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 11-The Red Door Review

Seems to have been a lot of red doors in Zenith. Hunter seems to have found quite a few. But only Barbie knows the right one. The White Smoke Monster seems to be lurking in subterranean tunnels, guarding the entrance back into the dome. To allow passage, you must pass his test of being subjected to past memories or premonitions. Not bad, for the price of admission. And Aktaion Energy seems to be more than “just” an energy company. They even have their own mercenaries. Sounds like the Hounds of Diana are onto something. Read more... CMG 10-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 10-Awakening Review

Lyle awakes from his mumblings only to realize that, no, the Rapture hasn’t happened. Barbie wakes up a bit to how much his dad really knows about the dome. And Julia (and Big Jim) awaken to realize that you really can get out of the dome. (But we’re not sure if that’s a good thing at this point.) In this issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette, we discuss the techie “magic” employed, a new character who is something of a hacker with a white hat, and who might have a vendetta against Big Jim. (This might take a while.) All this and your feedback, including two folks who remind us where Joe was hanging out after his house came a-tumblin’ down. Read more... CMG 09-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 09-Going Home

With Lyle, Sam and Barbie falling in lines to the town of Zenith, and Joe’s drone discovering that the pit is a portal, “Going Home” gave us a glimpse of life out from under the dome, and hope for a way out. Barbie’s past catches up to him, Sam reunites with his sister Pauline, and Lyle seems, well, fixated. Meanwhile, Big Jim is ready to pronounce Barbie dead, holding a candlelight memorial for him. Gee, I wonder who he thinks would make a great replacement sheriff? Thanks for reading this issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette; just like the New York Times, but on a shoestring budget! Read more... CMG 08-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 08-Interview with Mackenzie Lintz, “Norrie Calvert-Hill” on “Under the Dome”

In this extra edition of the Chester’s Mill Gazette, we talk to Mackenzie Lintz, who plays Norrie Calvert-Hill on “Under the Dome”. As Norrie on the show, her character has gone through quite a few changes. As Mackenzie in real life, she’s had a very interesting career. Did you catch her in “The Hunger Games”, for instance? How has being famous changed her friendships? How did a tiring day at school perhaps land her the role of Norrie? Romantic comedy or dramedy? These and other questions will be asked, and answered, in this issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette; like People Magazine, only, well, a newspaper. Read more... CMG 06-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 06-In the Dark

Junior, Barbie and Sam venture out “In the Dark” to explore the caves below the school. The town is left in the dark, first from a dust storm, then by Big Jim who is, again, casting doubt on the motives and competency of Julia as potential town leader. But also, on the contrary, so much more of the story comes to light! Sam comes clean to Barbie, just before he falls into the dark, Julia and Rebecca gain a mutual trust after talking about the choices they’ve made, and the Four Hands(tm) get those pink stars falling in lines to confirm that Melanie is indeed the Hand Replacement, and that the obelisk in Zenith really does mean something, though what, nobody knows. So then, we’re still in the dark. All this and your letters to the editor in this week’s issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette! If you dare venture out into the dust storm, it’s on newsstands now! CMG 03 – Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 03 – Force Majeure Review

With red rain falling in lines, dome-penetrating wifi, and some rather obvious Microsoft tablet product placement, the episode "Force Majeure" breaks things wide open. James finds out his Mom is alive, Rebecca cements her position as Big Jim's #2, and acid rain falls from the sky, giving our heroes (and villains) a moral quandary to consider or dismiss. But is the dome forcing then to come to grips with these issues to see what they're made of? The barber certainly thinks so, and he's got all the answers. CMG 02-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 02-Infestation Review

This week, it's Monarch butterflies that are falling in lines, and their caterpillars are out to lunch on the Chester's Mill food supply. Meanwhile, Phil, formerly a DJ and now apparently sheriff, goes all Dirty Harry on the town, as he arrests the first murder suspect he suspects. But Junior finds evidence that he may have done it. But did he? All this, your letters to the editor, and the Barbie of the Week in this edition of the Chester's Mill Gazette. CMG 01-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 01-Heads Will Roll Review

We discuss the first episode of season 2, “Heads Will Roll”. Heads don’t literally roll, but we start off with the one-two punch of Linda and Angie being added to the obituary section of the Gazette. But even if you’re dead, that doesn’t mean we won’t see you again. Certainly Big Jim understands that. And the Dome seems to have created its own Lady of the Lake. Who is this mystery girl, and is she a personification of the dome, a birth by the dome, or something else? Junior, while he was unconscious, had a vision of a snow globe with the word “Zenith” in it, and of his mom, whom we see is alive at the end of the episode, still painting pictures! And we get a bit of a view from outside the dome. Hopefully the first of more views of the outside world. These and other questions and development show that we’re in for quite a ride this season. CMG 00-Chester’s Mill Gazette Episode 00-Introductions and Under the Dome Season 1 Recap

Thanks for reading the Chester’s Mill Gazette, the town’s smaller but more interesting newspaper. We’re going to be covering the events in the only town we know of that is Under The Dome. Actually, we (Doug and Karen) covered this last year as well, for the TV Talk network. However, they decided not to cover the summer shows this year. So with the help of Darrell Darnell and his Golden Spiral Media company, we started this, er, newspaper. In this episode, we’ll introduce ourselves. And, since CBS just aired a season 1 recap of Under The Dome, we’ll catch you up as well, including our thoughts on last season, plus, in our “Weather Forecast” section, go into some information about the upcoming season.
