What Are You Afraid Of? - Identifying the 3 fears that are in opposition to your purpose!
You cannot begin to live a purpose driven life without overcoming the number one enemy - FEAR. This is an unpleasant emotion that we all deal with throughout our lives. However, fear can also be misunderstood, especially when it serves as an obstacle in the way of serving your purpose in life. In this episode you will be taken through 3 types of fear that are in constant opposition to your purpose and how to find the courage to defeat them!THE FEAR OF FAILURE - The fear of failure comes along when you attach your worth to your wins. Your ego will trick you into believing that you must protect your wins at all costs. However, reality proves that this is an impossible task. Therefore, you create a fake reality for your life where failure can be avoided. This is known as the comfort zone and pride will keep you there. Your purpose always operates outside of your comfort zone and courage enforced through humility is what will get you there.THE FEAR OF REJECTION - The fear of rejection comes along when you attach your worth to the acceptance of man. Therefore, you should never allow this type of fear to interfere with your calling because that said calling was never orchestrated by man. You begin to understand this by becoming self aware and accepting who God created you to be. Once you become truly confident in this, you will no longer live a life that is driven by the acceptance of other people.THE FEAR OF DEATH - The fear of death comes along through the desire to survive. However survival is meaningless if you are only living to survive. You must survive with the intention to truly live. You are called to serve a purpose that will outlive you; which means it is more important than the preservation of your life in the grand scheme of things. We will never have control over when we die but we have over how we live our lives. The fear of death can never be allowed to overcome your God given purpose. Is fear holding you back? Instilling Discipline - The 4 key steps to achieving true freedom through a disciplined lifestyle!
Discipline is the link between where we currently are and where we need to be! On my personal journey of self improvement, discipline has been at the core of my development. However this was not a trait that I was born with. I had to learn from my mistakes, accept the harsh realities of my decisions, and ultimately take responsibility over my self discipline. The hardest part of this process wasn't the practice of being consistent with difficult but necessary tasks. It was the process of understanding what it truly means to be disciplined and the mindset adaptation needed in order to implement a life of discipline at will.In this episode you will be taken through the 4 steps to successfully implement a lifestyle of discipline:The Battle in the MindOur Response - What Weapon Are We Taking To BattleThe Practice of the DisciplineThe Results - Our GoalsFurthermore, there is a detailed breakdown of the most common human mis-conception around the idea of being disciplined. This is the idea that we lose our freedom. WRONG. We actually gain our freedom through living a lifestyle of discipline and we only sacrifice the desires that aren't in alignment with our purpose. In this episode I take you through a simple practice that we can all implement that will continue to prove this to be true. Is a lack of discipline holding you back from becoming the best version of yourself? If so, press play and lets reshape our perspective towards discipline together!SOCIAL MEDIA:https://www.instagram.com/kjslive/https://www.instagram.com/sq1podcast/Support the show

Loneliness Vs Solitude
Do you hate spending time alone and is it something that you constantly run away from?In this episode I take you through a personal experience that resulted in me having to spend a lot of time in isolation. It was completely involuntary, which meant that I had a negative understanding of what it truly meant to be alone. However through a simple change in perspective I was able to find great joy and glory from the isolation. The pandemic proved to be a significant crisis that resulted in many people, including myself, being forced to spend time in isolation. This ultimately took a great toll on how we interacted with the outside world, but more importantly, how we interacted with ourselves! The negative connotation around isolation ultimately stems from us not having great relationships with ourselves, and this experience is known as loneliness. Solitude, on the other hand, can only be truly achieved and experienced once we fix the relationship we have with ourselves. There will be a time in your life where isolation will become your reality but it is still possible to enjoy the isolation as your reality. In this episode I break down 2 practices that we can implement everyday in order to change our perspective around spending time alone:Getting outside and spending time in natureMeditationHere are some questions to ask yourself as you listen to this episode. Write these down and spend some time thinking about these questions. Let's see if you came to the same conclusions as I did in this episode:Do I enjoy my own company?Do I only enjoy my own company when its accompanied with an external source of comfort? How do I respond to my thoughts? Are we ever truly alone?SOCIAL MEDIA:https://www.instagram.com/kjslive/https://www.instagram.com/sq1podcast/Support the show

"Make Your List & Start Today!" | The Life Changing 5am Morning Routine (Pray, Play, Plan) - Part 3
This 5am morning routine follows these 3 steps:PRAYPLAYPLANThis episode explains the final step of my morning routine. This is coming to an intentional plan for my day every single morning. In a world filled with distractions, it is very easy to forget about our purpose and consequently keep ourselves busy with anything and everything that isn't aligned with our purpose. We can easily fall in to this trap if we don't have a structure and a plan to our days. In this episode I explain how I have created a structure and a plan that works for me. Now I am leaving the life of being busy behind and stepping into the life of being productive. My daily plan is formed around these 3 categories:Identifying Habits: Once I was able to identify the bad habits in my life that were holding me back, I made it a major goal to replace those habits with habits that contributed to my holistic growth and well being. Before I start my day I remind myself of these habits and keep track of them.Identifying Commitments: When it comes to our commitments we are usually all talk and no action. When there is indeed action, it is usually associated with commitments outside of our life purpose. Now it is an intentional goal of mine to stay committed to my purpose and this is also addressed in the morning in order to set the tone for purpose influenced decision making throughout my days. Matters Arising: This refers to making a daily list of responsibilities and requirements that aren't always anticipated but still necessary. This is what I used to treat as primary but now it is very much secondary to my habits and my purpose commitments. If you are struggling with organisation and structure in your life, this episode is for you. If you have hard time sticking to your word, this episode is for you. If you are a chronic procrastinator like I am then it is extremely important to take control of your morning before your morning takes control of you! Inspired Self Improvement
On the 26th of December 2019 I wrote an action plan for my life going into the new year. This was at a time where I still didn't understand my purpose but I knew that change needed to happen. I made a list of everything I wanted to achieve in the new year as well as new habits and practices that I wanted to adopt. The vision was clear and the plan was direct. However things took a turn when 2020 came around. I didn't expect to be sick and helpless throughout that year but that is exactly where I found myself to be. As a result I didn't achieve anything I set out to achieve but I didn't care - my one priority was to stay healthy. As mentioned in the first episode, I was forced to rely on God because I was no longer capable of elevating my life on my own. I came out of that year with my health restored filled with gratitude. I completely forgot about the action plan I wrote and I got on with my life no longer being the captain of my own ship. Two years later, in 2022, I decided to go through my old notes and I stumbled upon the list. I realised that even though I didn't achieve anything I wrote down in the year that I intended, God knew my heart desires. Now I have come to realise that I have everything on that list even though it was delayed. I just needed to put God at the center of my life before anything else. The lessons I have learnt along the way makes the delay and setbacks so valuable. This episode is for anyone going through an unexpected season in their lives. Sometimes our goals might be delayed. But the most important thing you can do is to make growth intentional within your season of delay and discomfort. There is always a lesson to be learnt. This list simply reminded me to trust God's timing and to trust God's plan.SOCIAL MEDIA:https://www.instagram.com/sq1podcast/https://www.instagram.com/kjslive/Support the show

Reasoning Comes Before Strategy
Are you fed up? Are you stuck? Or are you trying to find out the next steps to take in your life? This was the position I found myself to be in a few years ago. My response was to take up the posture of a child by tapping into my curious and inquisitive nature. I wanted to seek and discover, to arrive at solutions, as opposed to staying depressed by accepting my situation as final. Someone reading this now is in that same position; and this episode was designed to encourage you by showing you that there is nothing wrong in asking questions. There is nothing wrong in wanting better for yourself. However I ended up making mistakes as I began the journey of seeking to discover solutions to my situation. This episode ultimately highlights why it is important for purpose to be at the foundation of your growth journey and why "WHY" is probably the most important question you can reflect on as you are trying to seek change. Everything happens for a reason and there are reasons behind our circumstances. I believe that there are lessons to be learnt for every circumstance. Ultimately your purpose might be on the other side of your circumstance and that was the case for me.Here are some points to reflect on as you listen to this episode:Am I living in purpose? Is my life centred around the validation of other people?Am I fulfilled? Why did I have to go through what I went through?Am I on the right path? You can meditate on these points or take them to God in prayer. You Have A Calling
In this episode I break down how I came to the realisation that there was a calling upon my life. I understood this once I became sensitive to the voice of God. Understanding how God speaks was a process I had to go through in order to fully understand God's will. I listened to my intuition, I made new decisions, and I experienced the overwhelming intervention of the divine as I gradually began to build a relationship with God. Through this relationship I knew that I was called and I was being called for a very long time.A few years later I have an even deeper understanding but during that time I was called to endure my pain. Then I was called to learn from it; and now I am called to share as I continue to learn more about myself and my life experiences. Here are some questions for you to think about as you listen to this episode:Do I have a calling?Do I feel a strong inner impulse nudging me towards change?Do I leave a positive impact in the space I currently occupy?SOCIAL MEDIA:https://www.instagram.com/kjslive/https://www.instagram.com/sq1podcast/Support the show

Prevention is Better Than Cure
In this episode I talk about how I neglected my physical health for many years until I hit rock bottom. I tell the story of what I experienced with my struggles with asthma and how my adversity ultimately strengthened my spirituality and my relationship with God. This episode highlights a period of my life where my physical and mental weakness gave birth to a new found spiritual strength. I cover three life changing things that were triggered by this one experience.Lifestyle Change - There is a direct correlation between your health and the way in which you live your life. Most illnesses are self-induced and this was definitely the case for me. I could no longer continue to live a life that does not prioritise my physical or mental health.Facing Grief - When we lose loved ones, we have the tendency to run away from the reality of it. I was guilty of masking the grief of losing my mother with so many distractions until I fell sick and had nowhere else to run or to hide. Finding Purpose - When all things failed I was forced to lean on my faith. Thats all I had. This led me to begin the journey of understanding my purpose and the calling over my life. Reflecting on the impactful life that my mother lived, inspired me to begin to follow in her footsteps. This is what gave birth to this podcast and the changes I am making in my life today.SOCIAL MEDIA:https://www.instagram.com/kjslive/https://www.instagram.com/sq1podcast/Support the show
