TOCER LNE recently suffered a broken spine after falling off a rooftop. While painting a roof in Chinatown, 3-4 cops ran up the building with mistaken concerns of a burglary. In an attempt to escape, TOCER jumped from roof to roof, did not make the clearing and fell. Losing feeling in his legs, he began to crawl away with his arms; eventually getting arrested and shackled to a hospital bed. It is a long road to recovery, but he is okay and will make a full come back. Racking for a living from 7th grade till the age of 25, TRAV explains this as a life of high-highs and low-lows; culminating at age 25 when he sat in Fresno County jail for 6 months, facing 3 years due to priors. The reflection period in jail led to a life-transition, leaning into TRAV’s creativity as a new way of making a living within fine art. His work often reflects the narrative of the brick & mortar store being pushed out by technology. His interest in brick & mortar stores & technology stems from the fact that stores were where he made his money as a booster, while the internet allowed the shoplifting to evolve through various online platforms. Steve ESPO Powers is an artist from Philadelphia who wrote graffiti under the name ESPO. With a distinctive approach to bombing, ESPO would paint high traffic areas in daylight under the ruse of legality, making it appear that what he was doing was legal. Christian Acker is the author of Flip the Script. He started the Handselecta project back in 2003, documenting handstyles for over 10 years from graffiti writers like Mike Giant, CHINO,  AGUA, ESPO and STAY HIGH 149. Between 2003 and 2013 he assembled over 100 interviews and alphabets by American writers of different cities, spanning from the 1960s to the 2010s. His book, Flip The Script helps contextualize American graffiti through those interviews and writing samples placed in a historic context. It was the first to present material like this in a clean, structured layout.
