We journey through each issue of the most underrated Marvel series of the 80’s while drinking beer. Please join us in rediscovering the joy of the Power Pack comic.
Episode 127 Amazing Spider-Man #659: Fantastic Voyage, Part I
So what are we possibly going to talk about with this issue? I don't know...kinda out of ideas...hang on, these three boys want to have a word.
Hip-hoppin', body rockin', doin' the do
Beer drinking, breath stinking, sniffing glue
Belly fillin', always illin', bustin' caps
My name's Mike D, and I write my own snaps
I'm a-peep-show seeking on the Forty-Deuce
With Adrock, MCA and me, Mike D
I had a little horse named Paul Revere
Just me and my horsy and a quart of beer
Riding across the land, kicking up sand
Don't step out of this house if that's the clothes you're gonna wear
I'll kick you out of my home if you don't cut that hair
Your mom busted in and said, what's that noise?
Aw, mom you're just jealous it's the Beastie Boys
Grabbing at your sis 'cause I can't resist
I start to dive, pummel her rumble fish
When I got through, next thing she knew
On her thighs was a Beastie tattoo
Your sister's def
You sold a few records but don't get slick
'Cause you used a corked bat to get those hits
You've been in the game, your career is long
But when you break it down you've only got 2 songs
Playin' beats on my box, making music for the many
Know a lot of def girls that are doing their thing
A lot of parents like to think I'm a villain
I'm just chillin', like Bob Dylan
Check my rear view mirror check the gold tooth display
Check out the odometer and I was on my way
Cause I'm a high plains drifter the best that you can get
A strapped shoplifter a pirate on cassette
Professor, what's another word for pirate treasure?
Well, I think it's booty, booty, booty, that's what it is

Episode 113 Interview With Fred Van Lente
This is a first for us. A creator that one of us has had the opportunity to meet in person before we interviewed them. Fred Van Lente wrote three of the Power Pack all ages mini series as well as many other works, but of course we are going to ask him about Power Pack, I mean....that is the height of his career, right?
Known initially for his work on Action Philosophers with Ryan Dunlavey, Fred has developed a very good bibliography of writing credit within the comic community. He also has had the opportunity to work with other fantastic creators. Plus, he is a pretty funny guy with some interesting stories to share.
But how does someone become a writer, what is catalyst to move a person into this realm where many dare but few succeed. The first step is to find yourself in a place you want to get out of, followed by choosing a career path that you quickly realize is not for you. These were, fortunately for Fred, the exact elements that put him on the path to where he is today.
But it is not all about Zombies and big headed creations bent on evil. Sometimes Fred give back something for the kids. Like we mentioned at the top of this rant, Fred worked on some wonderful Power Pack story lines. And while he did not get the opportunity to pull out a full series, he was able to produce a set of work to be very proud of.
So sit right back and take a listen as we bother this nice man about his past and what makes him such a fascinating writer.

Episode 50: Power Pack #38
You better listen to this podcast or I will send a gang of mean (pirate) girls to smack you around and steal your toys!
What....too much?...Fine, I will tone it down a bit. How about if I threaten to send a monster to scare them? Can I do that?
Fine, fine.....this is just a nice little story about Julie having a present stolen and how she got it back. But it is a nice story, and we want you to listen to our funny podcast. What if I told you that you will get a bunch of gifts if you listen?!
What do you mean false advertising?! How do you know that I wasn't going to follow through on this?....They don't know! What do you mean I just told them? Just look at this shiny thing, OK!

Episode 49: Strange Tales #12 to 14
Now...I know what you are thinking. You are sitting there, reading about this podcast, and wondering if you left your stove on. I do not want you to worry about this, so I will assure you that I have no idea. But in order to distract you even further, we are going to discuss not one, not two, not four...but three....THREE issues. That's a lot of reading!
With so many pages, comes so many characters. One could even say, there are so many characters, that they are falling out of the sky!
Get it?....Oh, never mind. Okay, besides Cloak and Dagger, who are the stars of this serialized story, and Power Pack, who are the reason we are even here, we also have the Punisher. You know, the guy who has guns and drives a Battle Wagon (or a battle van as some other guy on the internet insists on calling it).
We also have a priest, and another guy related to Dagger.....
And we have the Kingpin, who is kinda the shady dude causing the conflict with heroes fighting heroes fighting priests. It is a whole drug and blame thing.
And then we have a hamster.....'nuff said!
Oh, we also talked about my daughter showing a comic she made with her cousin to Todd McFarlane and I Like Comics...but that has nothing to do with Power Pack or this issue....I just like to brag.

So, I guess that just leaves me with the part of the synopsis where I have to threaten you, the listener/reader to listen to our show. But this time I am going to ask Julie to take on the task. I mean, if she can yell at the Punisher, she can yell at anyone.

Episode 42.666: Sandman #18 - A Dream of a Thousand Cats
Remember last year when Mephisto took over our podcasts......well guess what....He is back!!
And this time, Slim Hadey is not messing around! This time he wants to attack us in our dreams. So, he threw us into the Sandman books, and he sent us Sean from the Secret Wars and Beyond podcast to "suffer". He also cursed us with bad audio problems. What a jerk.
No really...that was his master plan. Corrupt us through quality. I really do not think he is playing with a full deck. It is like he is just howling at the moon or something.
Anywho...we are going to talk about cats.....
A lot of cats....
A cemetery full of cats...
And that is about all you need to know about this show....that, and Happy Halloween!

Episode 41: Power Pack #31
All the way from the deep dark stories of cosmic Marvel, we are proud to welcome Al Sedano from the Resurrections- An Adam Warlock and Thanos Podcast. And we welcome him to this weeks edition of the adventures of Furious Boy. He hates drugs, he is a teenager, and he has super powers. Oh Boy....What trouble can he get into now! Short answer....a lot. But luckily he has brought along his family for back up....right....right?
Okay, wait a minute. I am getting confused. Isn't Alex supposed to be on a rage infused, one boy crusade against the evils of crack ever since the brother of his former long time rival, current short time best friend was killed by cops for robbing a grocery store
What, am I boring you now!!?
Well that is just rude!
Okay...in all seriousness, we continue our talk about how Alex has really gone off the deep end. He is sure that he can single handedly rid the world of crack. And he is just not caring who he upsets. And his attitude has a lot to be desired....but at least Jack is wearing a mustache through the whole issue.
We are also proud to provide you with your own recipe for crack, straight from our science corner. We did not know we had the recipe hidden back there, but after we cleaned out all of the rats, we found a lot of interesting stuff. So join us as we try to clear up some of the fog that probably exists after reading these confusing notes
Oh...also there is the super villain (?) team Trash....so yeah.... probably should have mentioned them.
You can find more of Al Sedano's podcasts at this website: https://asedano.podbean.com/, or find him on your favorite podcatcher at Resurrections- An Adam Warlock and Thanos Podcast. You can also find him on Twitter as, @AdamThanosPod.
During the episode, we referenced a fantastic article written by Dr. Osvaldo Oyola. Here is the link to read it. https://themiddlespaces.com/2015/12/22/power-pack-says-crack-is-wack/

Episode 40: Power Pack #30
Issue one of the Crack Saga. This is the issue that Alex begins his crusade against the insidious drug....CRACK! But, how is our blonde boy going to find out about this drug and what it does? Why through his new bestest (and possibly only) friend Johnny Rival and his gang. What a nice group of boys.
I would like to tell you that this is a sunny tale, full of rainbows and unicorns, but there is not one equine looking creature around, and even the rainbow quota is low..which is impressive since one of the team can make rainbows at will.
What we do have is a lot of physical abuse against family members and friends, criminal activities, drug use and, overdosing, and homicide. Remember how this is supposed to be a "kids book?"
But we try to lighten the mood as much as we can, so don't be too sad.
