After nearly a decade in corporate America, working in business-to-business sales, from the telecommunications industry to the software industry, Keshia made a pivot to take her branding and web design business full-time in 2018.
After running her own business full-time for nearly two years and generating over $100,000 in revenue, she now uses her experience to teach new service providers the branding and marketing strategies that they need to attract their first premium clients online.
Keshia went from starting her business as a hobby just to be creative to growing it into something amazing. In this episode we chat about one of her biggest mistakes when she was starting out, her recommendations for being intentional when pricing at a premium, how she structures her client experience, the value of onboarding calls, how to know when you’re at capacity, creating boundaries with clients, how she keeps from getting burnt out as a service provider, and tips for becoming a mentor in your service space.

Bonus: Should You Be Using Clubhouse?
Sonia Elyss is a Business Marketing Strategist and founder of Round Twelve.
Callie Rojewski is a customer marketing expert. She helps startups attract and retain customers by creating hype, building community and activating raving fans. Throughout her career, she's helped brands such as Ben and Jerry's, Patagonia, and Athleta as well as startups in various industries incorporate customer insights into their growth strategies.
Maritza Tobon is founder of Unruly Media Group, a marketing agency & education platform for eCommerce & membership brands.
Today we're talking all about Clubhouse. Clubhouse is the new audio-only social media platform that has taken the world by storm in the last couple months. But is it for you and your business? In this episode I give you a quick intro to Clubhouse and a few of my thoughts. Then we’re diving into the pros and cons of Clubhouse as well as some tips for using the app with some of my friends; Sonia, Callie, and Maritza; who have been using and researching Clubhouse. They share their thoughts about what’s great, what’s not so great and their opinion on the opportunity with Clubhouse. I wanted you to be able to leave this episode with all the insights in order to walk away confident in whether or not to choose Clubhouse for your brand and business.
*While we briefly touched on this in the episode, I think it's very important to consider how you're creating an accessible space for your audience, including those who may be hearing impaired or deaf, along with creating safe spaces for POC and LGTQB from hate speech. I've been listening and learning about how this is taking shape on Clubhouse, and if the platform will address this as it continue to grow since it's still in such early stages. My game plan of action is using the strategies mentioned in this episode and focusing most of my energy on my primary platform of Instagram for creating content for everyone to consume. If they don't make the changes needed, I'll be dipping out. If they do, I'll be happy to promote it and continue to share insights with you.

Kate Davis is the Founder and CEO of Knockout, a collection of safety rings for women. From childhood Kate was taught about the dangers of navigating the city as a girl.
