How Your Wardrobe Can Help You Reach Your Goals

Are you one of the 40% of U.S. adults who made a New Year’s Resolution this year? If you are, how’s that going for ya? Studies show that most people abandon their good New Year’s intentions by January 18. Hopefully, you’re still going strong. But if you’re not, this episode may be able to help get you back on track. I’m breaking down the five most common resolutions and sharing how your wardrobe can help you achieve them. So often, we tell ourselves, “I’ll have a better wardrobe ‘when'”. When I lose weight. When I go back to work. When I have a better social life. Sound familiar? I want to encourage you to flip your thinking and instead say, “I’ll have a better wardrobe ‘so'”. So I can lose weight. So I can get the job I want. So I can get out there more. Sounds better, doesn’t it? Whether your goals are New Year’s based or not, this episode will help you use your wardrobe as a super powerful tool to help you crush them. In this episode: Why your wardrobe is a better catalyst for change than a reward How frumpy gym clothes can sabotage your fitness goals The recent trend that boosts your mental well-being How up-leveling your style can help improve your finances The truth about waiting until you reach your goal weight to dress better Full show notes and resources: https://youreverydaystyle.com/wardrobe-help-reach-your-goals

East Coast, West Coast Style with Morgen Peters & Katie Valentine

Does where you live influence your style? And if it does, which has the better style - the East Coast or the West Coast?  Obviously, we're not going to pretend to be able to settle this topic once and for all in a single podcast episode! However, we do explore whether regional style can truly exist in a world where retail chains offer the same items across the country, and around the world. To dig deeper into this topic, we've invited two experts, both Certified Stylists in the Everyday Style Network. Representing the West Coast is Morgen Peters, a wife and mother of four who's passionate about helping women create casual wardrobes that suit their current life phase. On the East Coast, we have Katie Valentine, who believes great style is about showing up rather than showing off. She equips her clients with the tools to embrace their signature style and build wardrobes that complement their lifestyle. We talked about things that would look out of place on each coast, as well as their closet staples, and of course, how to make the same merchandise we all have access to look individual and appropriate for any regional style. In other super exciting news, The Style Network Training program is coming back! The next round starts October 30, and we've updated the program so that you can take part wherever you are in the world! Plus, we've added four incredible bonuses to help you through the biggest roadblocks new business owners face. If you've ever thought a wardrobe styling business could be right for you, you owe it to yourself to take the next step to your dream career! Visit our new Style Network website for more details! In this episode: Katie and Morgen's different routes to becoming successful professional stylists Does where you live affect how you dress? Hey Hun! With Emily Paulson

This week we wrap up our summer series with a conversation I’ve been wanting to have for ages. It’s honestly taken me a long time to get up the courage to ruffle some feathers in service of the greater good. In today's episode, I'm talking with Emily Paulson about direct sales - also known as network marketing, social selling, and multi-level marketing (MLM).   Although it goes by a few different names, the principles are the same, and we're going to dig into how the business model really works. After being a completely unsuccessful consultant with 2 MLM companies, my goal with this episode just might be to have a little vindication….    This type of business model has left a negative impression on women in terms of what owning, and growing a business is all about. I sincerely believe that owning your own business is the best way to have it all, and it pains me to think women who want to start something of their own hold themselves back because of what they've experienced being exposed to this culture. If you’re in a Direct Sales business, I really want you to hear me when I say that this isn’t about you, the consultant, it’s about the company and the business model as a whole.     As we get ready to launch the Style Network again, I knew it was time to get over my fear of offending people and talk about this–in hopes that women who do want to start something of their own won’t hold themselves back because they believe they have to follow a business model that just feels icky. Having a wildly successful business is possible.    Speaking of which, if you’ve got an eye for style, a heart for serving women, and the desire to build a business of your own, the Style Network training and certification program could be just what you’re looking for. Grab our free guide to 5 Things you Need to be a Successful Stylist and 5 things you don’t. That will get you on the list when details come out for our next round. I would love to help you build something real and lasting.   Join me for an enlightening look at multi-level marketing (MLM). I hope you find our conversation entertaining and informative–and if you’ve ever thought about starting your own business, I really hope this episode gives you a fresh perspective.    Emily is the author of the book Hey, Hun: Sales, Sisterhood, Supremacy, and the Other Lies Behind Multilevel Marketing.   In it, she shares the story of how she signed up for the sisterhood, free cars, and the promise of a successful business of her own. After making well over a million dollars at one of the top MLMs, she realized what she really had were burned bridges, broken friendships, and an unsustainable schedule. Now she’s speaking out to spark change and bring a new perspective to the cultural epidemic of MLMs.     In this episode you’ll learn:   What MLMs are and how they are different from Pyramid Schemes The link between personal development and the MLM model  The ways the MLM model aims to exploit women's needs and pain points and what to watch out for Emily's best advice for any listeners who are working for MLMs   Of course, if you’re in a Direct Sales business, and you feel this doesn’t apply to you, great! I’m talking about the MLM model, so if you want to DM me and let me know how your situation is different, I’m all ears!   Full show notes and resources: https://youreverydaystyle.com/emily-paulson

Finding the Perfect Fit with Neha Samdaria

Do you find yourself struggling with "the dreaded" GAP IN THE BACK? Finding the perfect fit can be a real struggle! If finding pants that fit both your hips and your waist feels like a Dream Come True, you won't want to miss this episode. For years, Neha Samdaria struggled to find clothes - especially pants - that fit her correctly. She knew that this wasn't just her problem - one in four American women have "curvy bottoms" and struggle with the same fit issues. Modern sizing charts are designed to fit only one body type, and there is simply no room for those with a curvier shape. Neha is the founder and CEO of Aam, a new type of fashion label that is on a mission to change the way women with hourglass and pear-shaped body types shop for clothing. Listen in to learn about all the ways that Neha and Aam are altering the fashion industry - from changing sizing charts to only using sustainable fabrics and working exclusively with production partners who value an ethical code of conduct. In this episode: The story of how the idea for Aam was sparked on a trip to Rwanda Why Neha feels that problems of sizing and fit are due to assumptions based on bad data How Aam was launched during the Delta wave of COVID Neha's tips for successful online clothes shopping, and what people are paying for when they're not buying mass-produced fashion Details of how to get 15% off your next order from Aam   Full show notes and resources: https://youreverydaystyle.com/neha-samdaria/
