Welcome to the pod!! Join us (Jac and Ally) for our weekly “Catch Up” as we adjust to our new long distance friendship. The post-grad blues, living with significant others, roommate stories, and life in our twenties, are just some of the topics we dive into. Joined by occasional guests, and giving advice that no one asked for, we bring you an unfiltered look into our daily lives. So whatever your time zone is, grab some coffee, or wine, and come catch up with us. Cover art by @next_july
Ep 42: What is Success??
In this week’s episode we discuss success, and how the definition of it is becoming increasingly subjective. Hustle culture and getting the “grind” has become glamorized and although being self-employed and turning hobbies into money looks like the ultimate dream, it isn’t always realistic. We share our challenge with finding the balance between “living it up” in your twenties while also being financially conscious.

Ep 41: Getting Our Sh*t Together
As you may already have gathered, 2022 has not been what we expected, and now we’re attempting to finally… get our sh*t together. It is time to let go of expectations and what could have been, and instead reevaluate what goals and routines are realistic for our current lives. We hope you guys can relate to this episode on some level, and join us on our journeys to finding ~balance~.

Ep: 39 Overrated Or Underrated
The Aritzia Super Puff, Starbucks, and Zac Efron; are they worth the hype? This week we play a fun little game to decide whether things are overrated, underrated or justified. We compared our opinions on topics such as fashion, food & random activities, and came to the conclusion that yes, Uggs are BACK.

Ep: 38 Hello 2022
As the end of 2021 approaches, we want to reflect on the crazy year we just had and what we hope 2022 brings for us. We discuss our views on New Years resolutions & the big event that is New Years Eve. Thank-you all for being on this journey with us for a whole year!!

Ep: 37 Christmas PJs Are a Must
T’is the fricken season! On this week’s episode we share our Christmas traditions. Whether you buy a real tree, a fake tree or cut down one in your own backyard, every family does things a little bit differently. It’s no surprise our favorite traditions revolve around LOTS of food and drinks :) We discuss some of our Christmas faves- the Jim Carrey Grinch is ELITE. No further questions. So put on your festive pajamas and have the happiest of holidays!

Ep: 36 Healthy Habits For The Holidays
Food is arguably one of the best parts of the holidays, and we want to discuss how we can still enjoy those mashed potatoes and gravy, while maintaining a healthy mindset. This year we are trying to eat intuitively by listening to our bodies when they tell us to eat more stuffing or maybe saving space for dessert :) We want to emphasize giving ourselves grace and focus on enjoying time with friends and family because for us, it is simply not worth stressing over.

Ep: 35 Wine Chats
Welcome back!! On today’s episode we are finally back together celebrating Ally getting the GRE over with!!!! So join us for a quick & slightly ~tipsy~ episode of our Bach predictions and what we're looking forward to next.

Ep: 34 It’s Getting Dark…
Let’s get cozy!!! So the dreaded “dark at 5pm” time of year has arrived. We want to approach things differently this year to try and combat the “Winter Blues''. Planning wholesome activities to do or festive cocktails we want to make has already made us feel better. We are big fans of creating things to look forward to & romanticizing your life, which is more important than ever in these winter months lol. So schedule those fun movie nights or charcuterie with friends and embrace these next few months.

Ep: 33 Navigating Friendship
In this week’s episode, we get real about friendship. We reflect on how our own values and priorities change as we go through different periods in our lives and how that impacts who we spend our time with. We have learnt that quality over quantity, communication and putting in effort is key in having meaningful and long-lasting friendships. We want to normalize that not every friend will be your bff, but you are still able to be happy for one another & hype up your wins with you. We hope you can relate to this episode, and stay tuned for part two!!!!!!

Ep: 30 All Things Fall
Cue - “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. In this week’s episode we are fully embracing “cozy girl fall”. We finally get to pull out the comfy knit sweaters and say goodbye to jean shorts. Spooky season is upon us, so light your candles, whip out your flannels, and grab your pumpkin spice latte.

Ep: 29 Slowing Down
This week, along with a good ole’ catch up, we discuss some recent events such as the Met Gala and the viral Gabby Petitto case. Both of us have been feeling a little all over the place lately, so we thought it was important to chat about the importance of slowing down and prioritizing time for ourselves. When life is moving so fast, it’s easy to feel guilty for not always being productive, and we find ourselves thinking about what we could be or “should be” doing rather than actually taking the time to re-energize.

Ep: 28 Back To School
Ahhhh, it’s that time of year again. Back to school season is here and we want to talk about it. Neither of us are going back to school this year, but we want to reflect on the nostalgic feeling of a fresh school year. Arguably, the best part about the back to school season is the back to school SHOPPING; new backpack, new notebooks, and new outfits. We compare the differences between starting elementary school, high school and university. September isn’t just about mourning the loss of summer; it’s a time to reconnect with friends, party before homework gets too heavy, and accept all-things-fall with open arms.

Ep: 27 Shopping Under Pressure and The Trap of Consumerism
Along with this week’s catchup, we share our personal experiences with shopping. We discuss the pressure to keep up with constantly changing trends, and to fit into fashionable clothes that aren’t always size-inclusive. We discuss our hatred for the dreaded communal mirrors in fitting rooms, and the stress of settling for what is flattering, not necessarily fashionable. It’s so easy to get caught up in new collections and what every influencer is wearing but when it comes down to it we know buying into fast fashion is not sustainable for our wallets or for the environment.

26: The Missing Piece
This week we reflect on the importance of friendship. After reuniting this week, we realized what had been missing in our lives… hanging out with each other (not to be dramatic haha). Especially after this past year, being reunited brought us a level of fulfillment that we missed so much. Needless to say we were clearly lacking some quality BFF time and have already planned our next visit.

Ep: 24 Consistency Is Key
In this week’s episode, we bring you along on our fitness journeys. Our experiences with health and fitness have been exactly that; a journey. We reflect on what has worked for us in the past, what hasn’t worked for us, and what we wish we did more of. We discuss the importance of mindset, consistency, and simply doing what works best for YOU. If we have learned anything from our experiences, it's that fitness journeys are not linear!

23: Comfort Zone Who??
In this week’s catch up we discuss the importance of sunscreen (@ ally), the summer Olympics & Billie Eilish’s new album. Recently, some events in our lives have forced us out of our comfort zones, and we wanted to ask you guys on instagram what your thoughts are too. We discuss how important pushing yourself to do something uncomfortable or intimidating is, because whether the result is 100% positive or not, you still get to be proud that you tried. Whether it’s starting a new skill/hobby, meeting new people, or applying to a job; every new experience provides an opportunity to learn and grow.
8/4/2021 • 47 minutes, 17 seconds
22: Love Languages
In this week’s episode we discuss the 5 Love Languages, coined by author and counsellor Dr. Gary Chapman. Whether you're in a relationship or not, knowing your love language can give you important insight on how you receive love. We talk about how love languages change over time and how your partners may receive love differently. We took the quiz to determine whether quality time, words of affirmation, physical touch, acts of service, or gifts are most important to us. We highly reccomend you take the quiz too!!

21: What’s Meant to be Will Be

19: Would You Rather Ft. The Boyfriends
The boyfriends are back! Sean & Nick join us for the ultimate would you rather game, and yet another chaotic episode. Needless to say there were some … interesting questions asked that caused lots of laughs for us & hopefully for you guys listening. We truly pondered life’s greatest questions, like “would you rather have the neck of a giraffe or the trunk of an elephant?” or “would you rather empty a swimming pool with a fork or spend 30min in the pool with a jellyfish?”

18: Feeling the Fear but Doing It Anyways
This episode is all about pushing through fear and stepping out of our comfort zones. We acknowledge that fear is inevitable but doesn’t always have to be a bad thing that controls your life. We reflect on the things we didn’t think we could do, the power of time, and the experiences we gained from ~learning to do it afraid~. Join us for a raw conversation about normalizing fear in our everyday lives.
*Note*: sorry about sound quality of this ep! Did our best to fix it but will be back with normal sound next week :)

6/2/2021 • 51 minutes, 49 seconds
15: Nature & Nurture
This week we discuss the nature vs nurture debate and how it applies to our lives. We find it fascinating how both our genetics and our environment have shaped who we are today. We reflect on how our families, our education, and where we grew up, have impacted our personalities and outlooks on the world. It’s important to look beyond the beliefs we grew up with, as personal growth comes with new experiences.

5/5/2021 • 44 minutes, 41 seconds
11: Body Image & Social Media
In this week’s episode, we discuss body representation on social media (or lack thereof). Growing up only seeing one “ideal” body has distorted our idea of what is beautiful. This has only been magnified with social media, especially Instagram, which has simply become a highlight reel of our lives. Seeing more body positive content through both brands and influencers on social media has allowed us to reevaluate the importance we have placed on getting the perfect picture.
4/28/2021 • 37 minutes, 2 seconds
10: Irrational Fears
We all have them. This week we share our irrational fears that we can’t seem to get rid of. Our list of random fears is anything but short, whether it’s shark attacks, being kidnapped, moldy food or unnecessary nail salon anxiety. Despite being highly unlikely, we have convinced ourselves that the worst could still happen.

We share our favourite tips to add more greens & healthy habits into our daily lives while still being able to enjoy our favourite not-so-healthy foods.

You have to start ~romanticizing your life~, don’t underestimate the little things!!

So grab a glass, or a mug, and enjoy a peek into our current lives.

4: We Graduated... Now What?
This episode we dive into the overwhelming post-grad period and the dreaded conversation about “what’s next”. Navigating life after graduation has proven to be a stressful and confusing time. We discuss the identity shift from student life to ~adulthood~, balancing expectations from parents/society and comparing ourselves to others. Reminder: your direction is more important than your speed.
