The African Agenda
May 2016 heralded the fifty third anniversary of founding of the defunct Organisation of African Unity, OAU. The OAU was formed with a task of undertaking the independence of African countries namely the then still colonized regions, regions whose decolonization was blocked by Settler Colonial Regimes, Racist regimes which resisted democratic rule. The decolonization of these Settler Colonial Regimes was finally achieved by the downfall of the South African Apartheid Regime in 1994, an event that was marked by the holding, for the first time in the history of the country, of free non racial democratic elections. Africans countries have since formed a new organization, The African Union, which has been given the mandate of achieving the African Union. The new African Agenda will not be achievable without the help and intervention of a truly African Media. However, what is the reason of there being an African Agenda and what role does the Media have to play.Mr. Thami Ntenteni is a veteran of the South African Liberation struggle he being an ANC Cadre who served the liberation organisation in exile. International Crimminal Court
The Hague based International Crimminal Court, ICC, has come into the spotlight. Comments have been emanating from different sources and also regions of the globe. The comments though differ and tend to contradict each other these depending whether the narrator comes from the South or rather Africa or from Western Countries. No other case has provoked rebuke from the Africans then the case against a sitting president, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya who was faced charges of crimes against humanity. He had been indicted in connection with post-election ethnic violence in 2007-08, in which 1,200 people died. President Uhuru Kenyatta was also charged together with his vice President William Ruto who was faced with similar charges and these were similarly dropped. The charging of a sitting African President raised an outcry from African governments and even the African Union where there were cries for African countries to disassociate themselves from the Court. The case against the former Cote D’Ivoire leader Laurent Bagbo has however raised more question from sources far away from Africa, these basically questioning the legality of some of the ICC ACTIONS.

Systemic Racism
Racism is one of the biggest scourges that face mankind. Scholars have tried to define and explain the source of racism and there by tried to get solution to this social anomaly. Racism has been defined from a scientific perspective from which it was claimed that a reorientation of attitude to wards fellow human beings would solve the question of racism. Racism has also been defined from an institutionalization perspective there by placing eradication of racism on government and state legislation, policy and governance. There are many examples of effort to eradicate racism this from 1950 when UNESCO issues its first of four statements about issues of race. It was issued on 18 July 1950 following World War II and Nazi racism and was an attempt to clarify what was scientifically known about race, as well as a moral condemnation of racism. It was criticized on several accounts and revised versions were publicized in 1951, 1967 and 1978. Governments have been known to criminalize racism this illustrated by no other then Brazil, one of the last Western Countries to eradicate racism, further, the USA in an attempt to eradicate institutionalized racism passed a number if desegregation laws starting with the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court desegregation of public schools and institutions of higher learning. The American effort to eradicate institutionalized racism climaxed with the passing of the Civil Right Act The Civil Rights Act of 1964 a landmark piece of civil rights legislation in the United States that outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. It ended unequal application of voter registration requirements and racial segregation in schools, at the workplace and by facilities that served the general public. Despite enactment to eradicate institutional racism, racism has not been eradicated in the affected countries e.g. Brazil and USA, scholars have pointed to social indicators, like race based unemployment levels, race based incarceration figures, health, life expectancy, education and many other indicators which all show a continuance of the marginalization of the historically discriminated communities. This has the come with an expression of systematic racism which indicates continuance of motives to marginalize the past victims of racism which in the case of Brazil and USA these people belong to the ex Slave communities. And in ex settler colonial nations state these communities represent the colonized indigenous people like the Aborigines in Australia, Maori in New Zealand The Indigenous Indians in the USA AND Canada and the Indigenous African people in South Africa. Thus we have systemic Racism. Brazil is one country where Systemic Racism has been studied and accepted by the Sate which has embarked on programmes to eradicate it.

Racism Episode 1
Racism is one of the greatest scourges that face mankind. Green House Gas Emission and Ecology
The just ended United Nation Global Warming Conference which was held in Paris France in December 2015, COP 21 conference, has been hailed as the most successful Global Warming Summits with there being a consensus of goals targets and need for concerted action to limit green gas emissions. The agreements however fell short of the expectation of African countries and also other developing countries like the Small Island Developing States most of which, should the polar ice melt, are threatened with disappearance. Developing countries envisaged that the summit would come up resolution and agreements that would have helped them to adapt and mitigate effects arising from Global Warming. However, a serious, not well known effect of the Global Climate change will not emanate from rise in global temperature rather it will emanate from the increased amount of Carbon Di Oxide in the atmosphere which scientifically is termed increased partial pressure of Carbon dioxide.
