In this episode, Alex Sanfilippo interviews Chandler Bolt on his book "Published".Here are a few points they cover. (See full show notes at our blog link at the bottom.)Looking for Your WhyYou need to define “why” from a reader’s perspective and “why” from the writer’s perspective. This is where you need to focus on why are you writing this book and how is it going to fit in with what you are doing. The 3 main reasons for writing are Impact, Income, or grow your business or a combination of any of these.Get clear on why you are doing this and write it down and keep it in front of you to come back to throughout the entire process. This is for motivation and for clarity! Having clarity will keep you from going down rabbit trails and focusing on the wrong things.Think of 1 person who is your reader and write to that person. Start the chapter almost as it is a letter to that person. What does that person want to hear? Do they want you to be funny? What tone of voice works best for this person?Once you are done writing should you self-edit?We recommend a verbal read-through after the draft. Actually, read it out loud. This will make the book better. After this hire a professional editor, they will make your book so much better!Reedsy or Upwork are great freelance platforms to find editors. It's going to be created by niche online communities. The Future of Online Community and Why it Matters with Gina BianchiniThroughout history all progress has come through the collaboration of small groups of people that are going deep to master something interesting together. This is the definition of community. The way things are today with big social media, this will no longer happen. The algorithm that big social media uses favors negativity and boosts it more than positivity. Because of this, we see a lot of negativity and hate in our feeds. As a result, we’re more isolated than ever before. It’s time for us to change this. The future of online community and connection is going to happen in niche communities, not on big social media. If you’re looking to progress in your life and in a community, you have to move away from big social media. If what you’re doing is bringing people together to accomplish something together, things are going to get done. Here are some questions that Gina answers throughout the episode:How can I build my own successful online community? How can you transition your following from big social media platforms to these smaller community platforms? What does the future of online community look like in 5 years? To learn more about Gina, Mighty Networks and to see full show notes and resources, please visit: https://creatingabrand.com/what-online-community-means-for-future-creators-with-gina-bianchini

The Importance of Sleep and Why You Need More of It – with Drew King

Entrepreneurs need more sleep - This episode explains how sleep helps you succeed more. The Importance of Sleep and Why You Need More of It – with Drew KingSleep matters because it’s 1/3rd of our lives. We should take sleep VERY seriously. It’s 1/3rd of our lives. When most people think about a healthy lifestyle, they think about eating healthy foods and exercise. What may surprise people is that sleep is equivalent to the other two. The three go together. They are like a 3 spoke wheel, each spoke needs to be the same size or the wheel is not going to turn smoothly. The sweet spot is between 7 and 8 hours. People who are only getting 5 are not operating at their optimal level. (If you are getting less than 7, you’re more prone to getting sick. Sleep affects the majority of the organs in your body.)People who sleep less than 7 hours per day are 30% more at risk of becoming obese. Prolonged lack of quality sleep can lead to depression and anxiety. Routine and consistency is important. You cannot bank sleep. If you’re “averaging” 7, but it’s 4 one night and 9-10 the next night, that’s not healthy.Additional topics we cover:A list of things that you need to do in order to have a quality night sleep.A list of the main enemies of good sleep.A trick to get yourself to fall back asleep quicker when you wake up in the middle of the night. The 4 stages of sleep and what each does. How to diagnose sleep apnea. The goal is a healthy mind and healthy body. You cannot have this without a good night of sleep. Entrepreneurs needs to be on their game. You cannot do that without being on you’re a game. Sleep plays a bigger part of this than most people ever realize. For optimal efficiency, you need to get 7-8 hours of sleep. For full show notes visit: https://creatingabrand.com/the-importance-of-sleep-and-why-you-need-more-of-it-with-drew-king
