I discuss-Housekeeping about coronavirusStop asking what next with Corona Virus 3 axis of understanding the pandemic and its reactionsThe trade off on the economy shutting down for lockdownsGorilla analogy for our current stateOnly buying medicine and science time, this is solving nothingAlternatives- much like this, are illusions of randomness. We understand people are going to die, but we will make it the ‘out of our control’ possible. The most out of our control is the most precautious and extreme we can be. That is the moral question at the base of the delimma between alternatives and the lockdown. You can draw your threshold for how much randomness is enough for you. what can I do? Meditate and learn something new- horizonal and synthetical learningI dont think bioterrorism is the case. Personal Journey- Reading method-I order more books than I should haveI order books on instinct. If i want to, i do. There is no selection process per seI keep them around me- Umberto Eco’s anti libraryI listen to them on youtube and podcastsI never finish a bookI read chapters that I want When I hit a disagreement, I dont walk over. I stay and I disagree in my head. I give books the time to simmer in my head.I try to learn the bridging logic to my reality- how do you relate to what you read is very important to establish clearlyRead half books- finish it in my head- then read to confirm- acquring their voice, burning their way of thought in my headI read multiple books at once, allowing them to talk in my headI talk about the ideas with myself to clarify them. In my head, with my friends. I am whimsical and non judgemental with my reading process. The attempt is to discover what I can not store all I could and then use that discovery on an everyday level. Ideas are not ideas, they are mental models

#16- [The Other Side]- Marijuana v/s Alcohol- Alex Horn
On this light hearted episode, Alex articulates the strongest possible Pro Marijuana and Pro Alcohol arguments. Marijuana and Alcohol are substances neither Alex nor I promote. However the discussion about which is a better poison haunts parties and workplaces alike. People settle or unsettle romances and friendships on this issue. Alex brings his quick wit, sharp analysis and his stand-up comic silhouette to the table as he begins to unpack the two from a variety of standpoints.
Alex Horn is a pre-med student at Columbia University. Alex is also a stand up comic and an expert debater. Born and raised on the two sides of the river in Philadelphia, Alex makes his debut on PG Radio with the intent to take on the world soon. This is not an illuminati reference
I have been an active conversationalist for the most part of my adult life and I have often bumped across issues that have starkly polarized sides. Very often, especially in debates that are politically or emotionally charged, there is a great divide between the two sides of an arguments. Republicans dont understand the Democrats, Pro- Marijuana Legalization people call the other side ancient, Pro lifers think pro choicers are killers, Pro Gun Control activists think Pro-Second amendment activists are killers. Neither of the side is interested in meeting the other side on their paradigm of rationality. What happens is that constructive debate gets lost. Arguments get drowned in a noise as one side speaks over the other or past the other. We manage only more polarization for a solution. The Other Side is a platform where I and my guest articulate the best possible arguments for both sides of a debate. The intent is that the next time you actually debate an issue you feel strongly about, you have the arsenal of the strongest possible position of your side as well as the other side.

#13- [The Other Side]- Abortion- Thomas Li
Welcome to PG Radio and welcome to the newest series of PG Radio. This series is very close to my heart. The Other Side is a platform where I and my guest articulate the best possible arguments for both sides of a debate. The intent is that the next time you actually debate an issue you feel strongly about, you have the arsenal of the strongest possible position of your side as well as the other side.
On this episode of the podcast, Thomas articulates the strongest possible pro choice and pro life positions. Abortion is a debate rooted in philosophy before anything else. More often than not, people get tripped up in philosophical conundrums while discussing their position on abortion too- 'Is it okay to kill a baby?' 'Is it okay to exercise my will over another woman's body?'. Here is Thomas resolving all doubts that stem from Ben Shapiro's or the Feminists' rhetorical questions.
Thomas Li is a student of Philosophy at the Columbia University in the City of New York. He is a voracious debater and a very articulate and brilliant friend. Thomas grew up in rural China...jk, in Shenzen, China before he moved to America to finish his High School. That is the secret behind his accent.

Eventually and serendipitously, Phil found himself as my friend at Columbia University where he focuses his time and energy on the art of visual art, specifically Film Making.
