The Hog
The world has already considered the perils of facing 30-50 feral hogs—but has perhaps forgotten the terror and excitement that struck South Georgia in the early 2000s, when folks had to deal with one very large one: Hogzilla.

The Symphony
Classical music composers throughout time have envied Beethoven’s output — and the fact that his ninth symphony, with “Ode To Joy,” was such a juggernaut. But there’s an old superstition about composing ninth and tenth symphonies in Beethoven’s wake… and there’ve been enough deaths involved that the prospect of a curse is worth considering.

Laurah’s out sick; please enjoy a re-release of one of our favorite episodes.
A Washington man named Jason Padgett loved partying, muscle cars, and getting buff at the local gym, and would have been content to live his life singing karaoke and chasing girls--until a fateful attack changed his worldview. . . quite literally. When he woke up the next day after receiving serious blows to the head, Jason realized that he could see things that others couldn’t. And he didn’t know what to make of them.

Introducing The Fall Line: The Case of Chairo Garibay
Introducing our podcast, The Fall Line, which focuses on cold cases that have not received enough attention—a clip from our recent three-part series on the case of Chairo Garibay. On December 11th, 2005, 20-year-old Chairo disappeared; she’d planned on attending church with her family in Olivehurst, California, but she never showed. She was reported missing to the Yuba County Sheriff, and both her family and law enforcement began a search that extended through Christmas. It would be five weeks before Chairo was found. Though there would eventually be a 50,000-dollar reward authorized in Chairo’s case, no one has been arrested for her murder.

Introducing: What Was That Like
This is a special brief episode to introduce you to a podcast that we recently discovered, called What Was That Like. It’s quite different from any other show you listen to.
Each episode is a conversation with a regular person who has been through some type of extremely unusual situation, such as being shot in a mass shooting, surviving a plane crash, getting bitten by a rattlesnake, or getting a deal on Shark Tank (those are a few of the past episodes). The guest comes on the show and tells the story of what happened, first hand.
For many of the episodes, in addition to the person involved telling the details, you’ll also hear the 911 calls and police radio communication that happened during that situation.
With 100 past episodes, you’ll be bingeing this show for a while. Some of the episode titles:
Ramon’s wife hired a hit man to kill him
Marina was stalked
Kasey married a wrong number
Westin survived a boat propeller
Henry was attacked by an alligator
Dave won big on Wheel of Fortune
James was crushed by a tree
Liz discovered a suicide
In the trailer today, you’ll hear a few clips from past shows to give you an idea of what to expect. If you like bizarre, true stories, told first hand by the person who experienced it, we think you’ll like this show.
You can find What Was That Like on any podcast app, including Spotify, or at the website – WhatWasThatLike.com.

Introducing Suspect
A big Halloween party at an apartment complex in Redmond, Washington. Themed rooms and costumed partygoers. But by the end of the party, one of the hosts is dead. The police look to the partiers as the prime suspects: was it the guy in the devil mask, the bank robber, the construction worker? As investigators comb through forensic evidence, witness testimony, DNA, and even consult with a psychic, they zero in on one suspect in particular. But for what reason? Host and reporter Matthew Shaer (Over My Dead Body) returns to the scene of the crime, speaks with everyone about a night that still haunts them years later. It’s a series about race and policing, mislaid justice, cutting-edge science, and the kinds of weighty choices that cops and prosecutors make every day -- choices that, once made, are difficult to reverse.
