Dr. Strang will provide a #COVID19NS update today, including information on updated #COVID19 data.
No new cases of #COVID19 were identified yesterday, when the lab completed 691 Nova Scotia tests. Nova Scotia has 1,061 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and there are five active cases.
The province has reconciled and consolidated data sources to ensure all publicly reported data comes from a single source. This change altered some data points; for details visit novascotia.ca/news/release/?id=20200610002.
There are no licensed long-term care homes in Nova Scotia with active cases of #COVID19.

Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief medical officer of health, provides an update on COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.
As of today, May 6, Nova Scotia has 998 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Seven new cases were identified Tuesday, May 5.
The QEII lab completed 764 NS tests May 5. NS has 31,541 negative test results, 998 positive COVID-19 test results and 41 deaths. Five people are in hospital, two in ICU. 661 have recovered. There are 3 licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors' facilities in NS with active cases of COVID-19. Northwood in Halifax has 160 residents and 51 staff with active cases. May 5, 2020: Update from Dr. Robert Strang
Dr. Strang provides a #COVID19NS update, including information on three more deaths and six new cases of #COVID19.
Nova Scotia is reporting three additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the total to 41. The deaths occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax. Nova Scotia has 991 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Six new cases were identified yesterday, when the lab completed 454 Nova Scotia. As of May 4, there were 11 licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors' facilities in Nova Scotia with cases of COVID-19, involving 245 residents and 113 staff.
Premier Stephen McNeil: “We are working hard with the Northwood team and our partners have rallied around the home and its residents and staff. We will keep supporting them until this horrible disease is defeated.”

Premier McNeil and Dr. Strang announce the easing of some public health restrictions around outdoor and recreational activities.
Nova Scotia is reporting one additional death related to #COVID19, bringing the total to 29. The death occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax.
As of April 30, there were 10 licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors' facilities in Nova Scotia with cases of #COVID19, involving 237 residents and 105 staff.
Nova Scotia has 959 confirmed cases of #COVID19, and 12 new cases were identified yesterday. The lab completed 812 Nova Scotia tests on April 30 and is operating 24-hours.

Dr. Strang provides a #COVID19NS update: Nova Scotia is reporting another death related to COVID-19, for a total of 28. The death was at the Northwood long-term care home in HRM. NS has 935 confirmed cases of COVID-19. 20 new cases were identified Tuesday. The QEII microbiology lab completed 905 NS tests. As of April 28, there were 10 licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors' facilities in NS with cases of COVID-19, involving 227 residents and 97 staff. April 28, 2020: Update from Dr. Robert Strang
Dr. Strang provides a #COVID19NS update, including information on three more deaths in the province. Nova Scotia is reporting three additional deaths related to #COVID19, bringing the total to 27. The deaths occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax.
"Three more families are grieving losses in our province today and my heart goes out to them at this incredibly difficult time," said Premier Stephen McNeil.
Nova Scotia has 915 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Fifteen new cases were identified Monday, April 27. The lab completed 483 Nova Scotia tests on April 27 and is operating 24-hours. The death occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax Regional Municipality. As of today, Nova Scotia has confirmed 737 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Sixteen new cases were identified Monday, April 20, when the lab completed 516 tests. As of April 20, there were 10 licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors’ facilities in Nova Scotia with cases of COVID-19, involving 128 residents and 62 staff. Nova Scotia has 22,190 negative test results, 737 positives and 10 deaths. Eleven people are currently in hospital, three in ICU and 286 have recovered from COVID-19.
