Disney World 50th Anniversary Events Beginning Oct. 1, “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honors the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, and, wow, do we have some great new details to share with you about this incredible 18-month event. A new nighttime spectacular, “Disney Enchantment,” will help kick off the 50th anniversary festivities when it debuts Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom Park. Created to launch with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” this evening extravaganza will take Guests on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A. Joining “Disney Enchantment” on Oct. 1 will be “Harmonious” at EPCOT, one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park. This new show will bring the globe together at World Showcase Lagoon in a celebration of Disney music that inspires people worldwide. It’s a grand, powerful tribute to the stories and songs that unite us, embracing new technical magic that incorporates pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, lighting and media in new ways. “Harmonious” will invite Guests to travel the globe through new interpretations of classic Disney songs as you’ve never heard them before, reimagined in more than a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world. There’s also new daytime entertainment stirring at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Check out this artist rendering of “Disney KiteTails,” which will come alive several times daily at the Discovery River Amphitheater beginning Oct. 1. Performers will fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes, while out on the water elaborate three-dimensional kites – some stretching to 30 feet long – will depict Disney animal friends, including Simba, Zazu, Baloo and King Louie. These colorful creations will dance through the sky to the beat of favorite Disney songs in an uplifting, vibrant experience for the whole family. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be the hosts for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” and they’ll be decked out in sparkling new EARidescent fashions for the 50th anniversary. As you can see in the photo above, their best pals want to get in on the shimmer, too, as Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale will be sporting their own custom-made EARidescent looks beginning Oct. 1. Guests will get a chance to see them when they travel through Magic Kingdom Park several times daily in the new “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.” golden character sculptures These eight friends will also be featured in special golden character sculptures debuting Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom; in this artist rendering, you can see Mickey and Minnie shining in the sunlight near Cinderella Castle. There will be 50 characters total in this series of sculptures that will be displayed across all four theme parks. We’ll soon reveal more of the “Disney Fab 50” as excitement builds for the big day, as well as the surprising ways Guests will be able to interact with these beautiful sculptures as part of the 50th anniversary celebration.

Avengers Campus at Disneyland Resort Set to Open June 4 Super Heroes Assemble! As we’ve all been anticipating, we’re pleased to share that Avengers Campus—an entirely new land dedicated to discovering, recruiting and training the next generation of Super Heroes—will open June 4, 2021 at the Disneyland Resort! At this fully immersive land inside Disney California Adventure park, guests will be invited to team up with the Avengers and their allies and live out their Super Hero dreams. Avengers Campus is comprised of several heroic locations, each hosted by a different Avenger to share their unique powers, technology and knowledge with recruits. Today, Disneyland  unveils a first look inside Avengers Campus! Sling webs with Spider-Man and unite with the Guardians of the Galaxy The first key area is the Worldwide Engineering Brigade – also known as WEB. It brings together bright innovators like Peter Parker who have been assembled by Tony Stark to invent new technologies and equip everyday people to become Super Heroes like the Avengers. WEB will house the new WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature the iconic friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! We previously shared that Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man in the new family-friendly attraction, which invites guests to put their web-slinging skills to the test and experience what it’s like to have powers alongside Spider-Man – a feat accomplished with innovative technology adapted specifically for this attraction, perfect for up-and-coming recruits of all ages. The second anchor attraction looms high above the land, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, a fan-favorite that opened in 2017. This rockin’ adventure blasts guests straight into the “Guardians of the Galaxy” story, alongside characters from the blockbuster films and comics. Help Rocket bust his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy out of the Collector’s Fortress and experience raucous mayhem, music inspired by the soundtracks from the movies, thrilling free-fall drop sequences and six different story lines! Power up with tiny treats and massive meals When it is time to take a break from the heroics, several new dining spots at Avengers Campus will offer dishes that are rich in both flavor and storytelling. Pym Test Kitchen is a food innovation science lab where the food and drinks tell a story. Just as Ant-Man and The Wasp use “Pym Particles” to grow and shrink just about anything, Pym Technologies applies this science to the creation of shareable bites, inventive entrees and sweet treats. Guests will be able to savor such items as the Impossible™ plant-based large and micro meatballs with pasta, or the “Pym-ini,” a panini served by the slice or as a long, multi-portion sandwich. Adjacent to the Pym Test Kitchen, an oversized beer can overhead signals that grown-up beverage tastings are available at Pym Tasting Lab. Team up with the Avengers and their allies like never before Throughout Avengers Campus, Super Heroes will come to life in exciting ways. Guests may have heroic encounters with Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, Black Widow, Ant-Man and The Wasp, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor and even villains like Loki. Guests may even have the chance to witness Spider-Man swinging into action high above Avengers Campus with gravity-defying, acrobatic feats never seen before in a Disney theme park. At a nearby ancient sanctum, Doctor Strange will train recruits in the mystic arts by bringing this ancient sanctum to life with powerful spells. At night, the area glows even more vividly with majestic colors and lights, pulsating with mystic energy. Suit up with the latest Super Hero gear The WEB Suppliers store will offer the latest inventions, including interactive Spider-Bots much like the ones seen in the new attraction, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. Each Spider-Bot has a remote control, and all eight articulated legs move forward and backward. Guests may customize their Spider-Bot with tactical upgrades to harness the powers and style of favorite Super Heroes, including Black Panther, Iron Man and Black Widow, as well as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Other must-have items at WEB Suppliers include a specially-designed backpack to carry Spider-Bots when they are not in action, Spider-Man light goggles, a take-home spider web kit and Funko Pop! vinyl figurines of Spider-Man and Iron Man. The Campus Supply Pod is the place to power up with official Avengers Campus gear, including performance fleece hoodies and tees, headwear, drinkware and other Super Hero supplies. Disney Parks Year in Review 2020, Yes it's finally over. 2020 was a challenge for all of us when it comes to Disney Destinations and we are looking forward to 2021. Run Disney - Is doing a marathon at Walt Disney World on your bucket list? I had a goal to run a 5k, then a 10k and a half marathon and Run Disney was in my sights being a giant Disney fan. My Disney Experience My Disney Experience is something you will quickly need to know about well before your Walt Disney World vacation.  What is My Disney Experience? Disney World now has an App.  The Disney World App is called "My Disney Experience".  The good news is you can install the Disney APP on your iPhone or mobile device very easily.   My Disney Experience App, Now what? So you have the My Disney Experience app installed and you are logged in.  The first thing you are going to want to do is to link your Disney World resort hotel reservation to your My Disney Experience account.  This way you can plan and book your Disney World rides using FastPass+ 60 days before your vacation.  You will also want to link up your other friends and family members so everyone can book fastpasses in My Disney Experience. If you purchased Disney World Tickets on your own and are not staying at an on property resort, you can enter your Disney World tickets by scanning them our typing in the ticket number.  Guests staying off Disney property can book Disney World Fastpasses 30 days before their check in date. It's important to note that you must have your Disney World tickets purchased and entered into My Disney Experience before you can book fastpasses! There is a definite advantage to staying on site at a Walt Disney World Resort because you can book your Disney Fastpasses in My Disney Experience well before anyone else who is staying off Disney property.  You can book Fastpases starting at 7 AM ET when your window opens. How do I book the popular Disney rides in My Disney Experience? You need to know that people that have Disney World resort reservations that start before your reservation and have a long Disney World Vacation, will get to book their rides before you do.  We recommended that you try and book the popular rides at Disney World for the last few days of your vacation.  Also Disney World loads more fastpasses into My Disney Experience at the 30 day mark.  Listen to our My Disney Experience podcast for our Fastpass strategies.

Beaches Turk's and Caicos resort is an all inclusive family resort located in the crystal clear blue water of the Caribbean.  If you stay in Turks and Caicos it can be pretty pricey, but the trick is to book and stay at an all inclusive resort.  We stayed at Beaches Resort and instead of paying $19 for a drink, it's included. Lauren and Lisa both went to Beaches Resort in Turks and had fantastic experiences.  We recorded an hour long podcast covering everything about Beaches Resort and what is unique, must see at Turks and Caicos.  We also took out kids earlier to Beaches Resort so we have experienced the resort with friends and also with family. For the best all inclusive resort in Turks and Caico, we highly recommend Beaches Resort Turks and Caicos.

We started our Disneyland vacation with a tour of some of the Disneyland resort rooms.  The Disneyland Hotel has suites and we toured the Mickey Mouse Penthouse.  This suite is amazing, with a living room, dining room, a main bedroom and on suite and a kids room with a full game room wall of Disney Infinity characters.

Universal Orlando Resort Fast and Furious is fast action for all ages

I spent a few days on the Norwegian Bliss and it's stunning I have been lucky enough to be on many different cruise lines over the years and lately cruises are all upping their game.  Norwegian Cruise Lines Bliss is no exception.  The ship is doing Caribbean itineraries but what the Norwegian Bliss is built for is Alaska Cruises.  The Bliss is a game changer for Alaska.  With floor to ceiling showcase windows I can imagine watching the Alaska coast slowing going by as I enjoy a coffee or specialty drink of my choice.  And these lobbies are at the front and also on the sides of the ship, artfully designed into individual luxury living room spaces where a family or group can easily gather and watch Alaska or the Caribbean sea.  This is a very nice addition to the Bliss and something that is missing from most other cruise lines. Walt Disney World Trip Planning The Magic Kingdom now offers alcohol at two more dining locations Magic Kingdom adds two more restaurants, Crystal Palace is now serving alcohol.  With the Disney Dining Plan coming with alcohol by default now, guests want what they paid for.  So as much as Walt wanted the Magic Kingdom to be alcohol free when it originally opened, now there are at least five restaurants that service alcoholic beverages.  Will beer and wine be coming to Disney quick service locations at the Magic Kingdom next? Is Disney World building an airport? Disney World filed some paperwork for the old airstrip close to the Magic Kingdom.  Is this just a holding area for some ground work and construction materials on some new rumored Magic Kingdom hotels, or something else?  We have rumors of a Volcano Hotel on the monorail and also rumors of a hotel maybe in the old Ft Wilderness River Country area.  Another Disney World monorail would be nice with the new monorail fleet coming and also a Disney Vacation Club - DVC second tower at the Contemporary resort could be a possibility. New EPCOT Disney Hotel Another exciting Disney World rumor is a new EPCOT hotel behind the Living Seas, (Not Test Track), or also right at the front of EPCOT where the monorail station is now.  I would think the front entrance area would be ideal.  This would be very exciting and a new look for EPCOT. Disney's Night of Joy has come to an end After 35 years Disney's Night of Joy at Walt Disney World has come to an end.  Disney World used teh event to fill slow park times but those days are gone.  The event moved over the years from the Magic Kingdom, to Disney Hollywood Studios and then finally to Wide World of Sports.  Also with Disney's Halloween Event, Christmas events and other night time special events, the park is already closing a great deal for regular guests.  Will Universal Studios in Orlando pick up the slack?
