Shifting from Judgment to Evaluation

Many of us have a harsh inner critic. We tend to judge our thoughts, feelings, and actions in a negative way that beats us down and does not motivate us to grow or learn. This can lead to chronic anxiety, imposter syndrome, and depression. In this episode, I discuss how to shift from judgment to evaluation. It is important to shift the focus from a negative attack on ourselves to a supportive assessment that allows us to learn and grow.   If you are interested in working with Lisa The Life Coach 1:1 as your Coach  book a free Connection Call to learn more. Use Your Identity to Serve Instead of Judge Yourself

Your identity is the set of beliefs you have about who you are as a person. These beliefs can be used to support and guide you, to move you closer to your goals, and even to enhance your enjoyment of life. But many times, we use our thoughts about who we are as just another method of self-judgment and constant inner criticism.  In this episode, I discuss how we often use our identity as a tool for self-judgment as well as a different way to think about and use our identity.  Check out this episode to learn more about how to use your identity as a tool that serves you and not another tool for self-judgment.   If you are interested in working with Lisa The Life Coach 1:1 as your Coach  book a free Connection Call to learn more. Why Big Results Often Stem From Simple Changes

Have you ever had a feeling that didn’t sit right, or you knew wasn’t serving you? What were the thoughts around this feeling? The thoughts that you choose to accept can affect your emotions and feelings around things in your life that may seem surface level but are actually causing a lot of friction and slowing you down from where you’re trying to go.   In this week’s episode, I talk about the simple mindset shifts you can take to build confidence, achieve those big results, and enjoy life. I’m expanding on how to use your feelings as a barometer for what’s going on inside, the importance of understanding how our thoughts create feelings (plus how we can change them), and why negative emotions aren’t bad, as long as you know how to recognize them as signs of what’s actually going on. Understanding & Filtering A Mindset That Benefits You

Are your thoughts leading you to a future that you desire? Your thoughts and beliefs are part of the mindset that affects how you interact with everything. And you’re only holding yourself back by letting negative thoughts and feelings run your life.  If you want to create a different outcome, you need to start being open and flexible –starting with your mindset. It’s up to you to decide if your mindset is helping you or hurting you and take appropriate action. In this week’s episode, I talk about how thoughts and mindsets affect our lives and why it’s important to get back to this neutral place where we’re not labeling and judging but watching and learning. I’m also explaining why you need to be aware of the systems your brain uses to filter information, so you be an intentional part of your thought process, observe how these thoughts serve you (or hurt you), and then do something about it. Why Your Thoughts Are Neither Right Or Wrong

Your thoughts are not wrong or right. Thoughts are just that, thoughts –and you have the power to reframe them in whatever capacity that works for you. Let's remove the labels of right and wrong, and instead, be open to other ways of thinking about things and know that your thoughts are, ultimately, a choice.   In this week's episode, I talk about the perception of right and wrong thoughts and how to decide which ones to keep and which ones to believe and build our mindsets around. I'm also expanding on why you need to be open and flexible to new thoughts and new ideas so that you can adapt and adjust and change and grow as you're going through life.   Connect with Lisa: Visit the Website  Schedule a Connection Call with Lisa Join the Anxiety Support Facebook Group Follow Lisa on Instagram

Why You Should Stop Trying To Change Your Thoughts

We spend so much time in our lives thinking about what we need to change to become worthy that we’ve subconsciously attached ourselves to this identity of not being good enough.  Instead of enjoying, growing, and learning from our experiences, we’re too preoccupied with managing our thoughts and feelings that we forget to live in the moment.  In this week's episode, I’m talking about our attachment to change and how trying to change isn’t actually helping us achieve our goals. I explain how being present in each moment and observing our reactions to thoughts can help lay the foundations of growth, which is the true catalyst for change.   Connect with Lisa: Visit the Website  Schedule a Connection Call with Lisa Join the Anxiety Support Facebook Group Follow Lisa on Instagram Join Lisa for this episode as she explores the different ways you can be patient with yourself, others, and situations that are out of your control. How Resistance To Painful Thoughts Stimulates Attachment

As humans, we often resist feelings, behaviors, and thoughts we don't want in our lives. But we don't realize that through this resistance, we’re subconsciously attaching ourselves to these thoughts and feelings as they come up, causing more annoyance and more pain–which is the exact opposite of what we intended.     Last week, we talked about detaching from our thoughts, feelings, and actions. In this week's episode, I want to talk about how our attachment to thoughts work, why our resistance to thoughts creates the struggle and judgment we're trying to avoid, and how to be aware of good and bad thoughts so we can move on from them and forward into the light. The Choice Behind Thoughts & How To Take Back Your Power

As humans, we build mindsets that work against us instead of for us. We live in our heads, we live in our thoughts, and, more often than not, we believe that what we think is factual truth.   But when we step into our power and live intentionally, we can choose our narrative and decide if what we think is true, if we want to keep these thoughts or let these thoughts go.  In this episode, I’m talking about the thought process, including how thoughts work, how we make sense of these thoughts as humans, and how thoughts can impact our actions. I also unpack why we need to accept that we are not our thoughts and ways to actively step out of the narrative we’ve created and take our power back. How to Have Patience for Yourself and Those Around You

Recently, Lisa has been sharing about her time back home over the holidays. This topic leads us to today’s conversation all about patience. How many times have you thought to yourself “I need to be more patient,” be it with yourself, clients, or loved ones? In this episode, Lisa explores what it means to be truly patient. She shares several takes on what patience means through the lens of scientific writings, different circumstances, and through our own negative experiences. Kick Comparison to the Curb

The adage “comparison is the thief of joy” is alive and well. It is easy to fall victim to comparing your life to someone else's as we are bombarded with images of success on social media and the internet, often curated by people going through similar struggles of our own. It can be hard to find value in your own life and not get caught up in someone else's story. Everyone goes through struggle and difficulties, and it is important to not get caught up in the appearances of someone else's life. Lisa helps us overcome comparing ourselves to others by prioritizing your happiness over anyone else’s and finding daily joy, worth, and satisfaction. Dress Up & Disguises of Our Inner Critic

Did you know that we often disguise or dress up our inner critic? The most common disguise is when we presume that someone else has negative or judgmental thoughts about us - even when there is no evidence that these thoughts are true. That’s why it’s incredibly important for us to be aware when our inner critic is playing this game of dress up and learn to eliminate any negative narratives we have about ourselves.   In this episode of Love This B!tch, I am expanding on the topic of our Inner Critic (see Episode 17: Understanding Your Inner Critic) and really digging deep on how and why we disguise our inner critic by telling ourselves negative thoughts from someone else’s “alleged” perspective. I’ll explain why it’s essential to notice when this disguise causes pain and how to mitigate it before it spirals out of control. Here’s a closer look at Being able to handle situations as they arise [5:24] How to notice when your inner critic is playing dress up [7:43] Why your own judgments and thoughts hold you back [12:34] Examining your thoughts and why you have them [14:31] The importance of having compassion for yourself [17:03]   Connect with Lisa: Website: https://www.lisaoglesbeecoaching.com/ Schedule a Connection Call with Lisa: https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=20041725&appointmentType=21324511 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisaoglesbeecoachingllc/ FREE Mindset Breakthrough Bootcamp: https://lisathelifecoach.kartra.com/page/MindsetBootcampRegistration

Understanding Your Inner Critic

Do you ever listen to that voice in your mind that judges and criticizes your every move? We all have that voice - or inner critic - and it can be relentless. Evolutionarily, our inner critic was there to keep us safe. In modern times, it tends to cause us more anxiety and drama than anything else. Unpacking Imposter Syndrome

Do you struggle to internalize your own success? Otherwise known as Imposter Syndrome, this negative thought pattern of “not being good enough” - even if you have the skills or talents to back it up - has been a hot topic in the online space. Our instincts tell us to avoid any kind of rejection, yet by doing so, we’re only causing ourselves anxiety, stress, and unhappiness.     In this episode of Love This B!tch, I want to unpack what Imposter Syndrome looks like, why it occurs, and how we can start reprogramming our brains to build up our confidence and find value in ourselves again. Because at the end of the day, failure is normal, nobody has all the answers, and sometimes, we just need to ask for help to grow and learn.   Here’s a closer look at Unpacking Imposter Syndrome [0:40] The five types of Imposter Syndrome [4:56] How we create our own self-perpetuating cycle [12:58] Combatting Imposter Syndrome [15:02] Why the struggle is part of the journey [26:25] Connect with Lisa: Website: https://www.lisaoglesbeecoaching.com/ Schedule a Connection Call with Lisa: https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=20041725&appointmentType=21324511 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisaoglesbeecoachingllc/ FREE Mindset Breakthrough Bootcamp: https://lisathelifecoach.kartra.com/page/MindsetBootcampRegistration

Understanding Your Manual

How does self-compassion help you have deeper connections with other people? As humans, we are all flawed and make mistakes. Giving ourselves grace for our own failures and imperfections is the first step in finding and developing true compassion and acceptance for others, no matter how different their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.    In this episode of Love This B!tch, I want to talk about how we can start building awareness around our own frustrations, anxiety, and anger that arise around situations that are out of our control and eliminate these negative emotions through compassion for others. We will examine our thought processes behind why we build thoughts and stories around completely neutral circumstances and how two people can handle situations in entirely different ways and why that’s okay. Here’s a closer look at   Why a different way of thinking or acting doesn’t make someone the enemy  Reducing stress, anxiety, and tension through compassion for others How everyone operates on different manuals in life  Understanding that everyone has different thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and experiences  Breaking free from the idea that our life’s manual is the only way    Connect with Lisa: Website: https://www.lisaoglesbeecoaching.com/ Schedule a Connection Call with Lisa: https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=20041725&appointmentType=21324511 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisaoglesbeecoachingllc/ FREE Mindset Breakthrough Bootcamp: https://lisathelifecoach.kartra.com/page/MindsetBootcampRegistration
