64: Overcoming Doubt to Pursue Your Dreams

Its a fact of life that some people are not going to like what you have to say or what you do. We’re all driven by different things, we were taught how to behave by different parents with different value systems.   It is also a fact of life that your brain is wired to look for the threats and pay more attention to the boos. But, just because there will always be people who don’t like that way you’re doing it, doesn’t men you shouldn’t.   In todays episode I talk about how to let the doubters and haters be there, but train your brain to focus on those cheering for you to win. Nothing has gone wrong when your brain focuses on the negative, that is what our brains were designed to do. Its kept us alive for all these years. But, most of these “threats” aren’t actually a matter of life and death. So, can we re-direct our brains to focus on the fans you’ve got?   You can stay in your cozy cave where nothing can hurt you, but you miss out on the big beautiful world awaiting you when you step outside your cave and risk being disliked, made fun of, or boo’d. At least that has been the case for me.   Yes, I have been in a tough season lately, but I am making it tougher because of the stories around what has gone on. 61. Life is Happening FOR You

Its no secret I’ve been weathering a brutal storm lately. And it got me thinking about how every storm I’ve ever experienced before has been in my favor. Always.   There is always a lesson that is there in the pain. 60: 24 Hours of Intention

Well, we made it through the holiday season. Some of us loved every second, and some of us were barely holding on through the chaos… all of us are on the other side of it now. And perhaps, if you’re like me, you picked up a habit or two that aren’t serving you right now.   Maybe you’re drinking more than you’d like, maybe you’re eating more sugar than you’d like, maybe you aren’t moving your body the way you’d like… so, in today’s episode I walk you through how to hit the reset button and regain control. And I like to call it 24 HOURS OF INTENTION.   Focus on your goal/habit for 24 hours. You can do anything for a day. And then, anticipate a temper tantrum in your brain, feel the pain associated with standing up to your primal brain and honoring your highest self… and then, do it again.   No more going through the motions, or walking through life with our brain turned off. 59. 12 Magical Nights

I love rituals. And I love believing in magic and something higher than me. 57. Navigating a Season of Depression

Its the most wonderful time of the year, right? So why have I been feeling so low?   A couple weeks ago my depression came on, and it came on strong. There were a few things that seemed to be the catalyst for it, but regardless of why its here, in todays episode I want to share with you what I am doing to manage through it.   I have 8 tips that I have been deploying during this season that help me make sure I am taking care of me and not adding to the list of reasons my brain has for not being good enough.   I do want to make it clear, I am not a medical professional and this isn’t medial advice. If you are experiencing depression (or any other mental illness) I encourage you to reach out to your doctor, or a therapist, and get help. You don’t have to white knuckle it through alone. Asking for help doesn’t make you weak, it makes you STRONGER THAN MOST.   Also, if your emotions and mental health are not in a space where it can handle a discussion about depression, please protect your peace and table this episode for a time when your brain is feeing more open to this.   Lastly, you are loved. 56. The Gift of Holding Space

As we grow, comfort zones and requests grow and change with us. Change is hard. Our brains don’t like it, and the people who are effected by us changing can often struggle with how it impacts them.   As we begin to prioritize ourselves and insource our lives, we might need to pull out of commitments we once were all in on, or set a boundary that had never been enforced before, or create discomfort for people we care about as a result of prioritizing you.   And this feels HARD. But, hard doesn’t mean we’re doing it wrong. As we journey inwards, hard often means we’re finally doing it right… we’re dealing with the right kind of hard.   In todays episode I share what holding space looks like, and why it is such an important piece of growth. Space for you, and space for those around you.   We can’t all think the exact same, nor would we want to. 55. What You’re Really Afraid Of

On the surface our fears sound reasonable… I am afraid of confrontation, I am afraid of public speaking, I am afraid of what they’ll say or what they’ll think. You talk to your friends about your fear and mot can relate.   BUT, what if what you’re afraid of isn’t actually what you’re afraid of at all?   In todays episode I offer a different way to look at your fears, to dig deeper, to peel back the layers and see what is hiding underneath that surface fear. And, spoiler alert, its your THOUGHTS.   We’re not *truly* afraid of what’s going on outside of us, as much as we’re afraid of what could go on inside of us. And when we can see and recognize that, it takes some of the power from that fear.   Because with the work we’re doing here on this podcast, and in the world, we know that we are the only masters of our mind. And if our fear is of ourselves, then we have control over it. 28. Overcome Overwhelm

We all have a lot on our plats. Being busy has been glorified for so long; the hustle culture is strong; rest has been positioned as weakness.. its no wonder we’re all feeling pulled in a thousand directions at any given time.   But, feeling overwhelmed don’t have to be our default operation system. In fact, for nearly all of us, overwhelm isn’t even coming from our to-do lists, but the thoughts we’re thinking.   In todays episode I walk you through how to overcome your overwhelm. How to change the way you’re thinking about what you do, and what you don’t do, so that you can feel more at peace with where you spend your time.   And also, get really clear on the stories you’re telling yourself around how you’re showing up. Because, while you’re believing “I can’t do it. It’s too much. It’s overwhelming.” You’re actually here, DOING IT. You’re showing up, and being a mom, and growing your career, and figuring it all out. You’re fucking doing it. You’re just doing it without any acknowledgment for yourself.
