This podcast is to help and motivate students to get through college. When I was an undergraduate there were a lot of things that I struggled with personally, outwardly and inwardly. Through this podcast my goal is to let students know that they can make it through college no matter what circumstances or situations that may come up in their lives.

At Miami Dade College she was challenged and pushed to grow not only as an individual but as a woman. At Miami Dade College she cofounded, “Influential Ambitious Motivated Women,” which is an organization designed to motivate women of color who struggles in college. Billyne now serves as the founder of, “The Everythinger” which is an online publication made for black women. It is a place where black women can take a break and focus on their relationship with themselves.

He obtained his Bachelors in Management Information Systems and enrolled into an accelerated one year program to earn his Masters in IT Management with a focus in Information Security. He is currently working in his field in cyber-security as an IT Security Analyst in Delray Beach, FL. Fun facts about Vickson is that he constantly in the gym, he loves sight-seeing and hanging out with his peers. He also stepped in high school and college and he loves babies especially his youngest nephew Jason. The quote that he lives by is, “You treat people the way you want to be treated.”

Marvel Joseph: Put Your Knowledge To Use !
In this episode of #DearCollegeStudents, I will be talking to Marvel Joseph. Marvel is a student at Florida Atlantic University majoring in Economics. Prior to transferring to FAU, Marvel was a student leader at Florida State University, serving as Director of the FSU Black Male Initiative which is a program created by the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs to increase retention and graduation rates of black males on campus. During the 2018 Florida Legislative Session, Marvel was the legislative assistant to State Representative, Al Jacquet. Marvel served as a Diamond Summer Intern, working directly in the AIPAC Headquarters in Washington D.C. working within the political department. During this time, he tracked races within key congressional districts while also helping research legislation strengthening the US-Israel relationship. At FAU, Marvel has helped re-establish OwlPAC, a pro-Israel organization focused on educating student-leaders on the importance of the US-Israel relationship. He currently is working on a project in an effort to expand study abroad programs for HBCU students in the Middle East, in an effort to connect the black diaspora from across the world.

Edward Bennett IV: Take Heed to Your Calling !
In this episode of #DearCollegeStudents, I will be talking with Edward Bennett IV, MSW is a native of Parrish, FL and alumnus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and Florida State University where he earned a Bachelors of Social Work and Masters of Social Work, respectively. Ed is currently pursuing a Ph.D. of Social Work at Florida State University where he has identified research interests as the psychosocial barriers impeding parental involvement in high poverty and low achieving schools. Previously, he served as Faculty in the Department of Social Work at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). While at FAMU, he taught in the undergraduate Social Work program, provided academic advising and mentorship, and oversaw interns in the school setting. Before entering Higher Education, Ed held employment as a School Social Worker, Inpatient Psychiatric Social Worker, and the Director of Kappa League and Guide Right programs in Sarasota- Bradenton. Upon completion of the Ph.D., Ed desires to serve as a Research Professor and consultant to ameliorate the phenomena of poor parental involvement in K-12 schools.
