The One About Body Image & Body Autonomy with “The Garcia Diaries” Bethanie & Anthony

Bethanie & Anthony Garcia are the power couple behind The Garcia Diaries instagram and podcast where they open up in very real ways about life, love, and well…bodies too! You know, the big gray area that nobody wants to talk about: Body Image & Body Autonomy. We get into how Anthony supported her choices and how Bethanie ultimately has been managing in the backlash of being honest. We also talk about their separation, social media (and ok… a little bit about the Eagles).Follow Bethanie @TheGarciaDiaries and Anthony’s at @SirGarciaDiaries and finally listen to their podcast The Garcia Diaries.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The One With The Friendship Pause/Breakup with Nicole Breanne

One of our top guests ever is back! Nicole Breanne came on The Papaya Podcast a couple years back to share her story of her divorce and finding love again. A big part of that story was the friendship that got her through. Now, she’s back to share vulnerably something that so many of us have experienced but rarely have the space to talk about - what happens when a friendship changes, shifts, or even ends? Why is navigating friendship pauses and breakups so taboo? Why is it always drama? Is there a better way? Nicole’s thoughtful approach to the entire conversation is not to be missed. The One About Social Media & #HalfTheStory with Larissa May

The average teen spends 7 hours a day online. That’s ⅓ of their life. #HalfTheStory began when founder, Larissa May (@livinlikelarz), was juggling two lives as a student at Vanderbilt University and a fashion blogger/entrepreneur, covering NYFW for highly respected media outlets. Behind the perfectly curated instagram feed was 17 hour workdays, debilitating anxiety, and sleep deprivation. Through industry conversations and discussions with peers she quickly realized that she was living in a world where everyone was craving a platform to share, which led to the beginning of @halfthestory. It started as a desire to highlight our most human attributes on social media to reignite human connection in the digital space. So what began as a $800 grant for a senior art project has since become a globally recognized platform connecting people of all walks of life through sharing experiences, struggles, entrepreneurial journeys, and aspirations. The One About Bloat, Creatorship & Investing in Social Media with Siff Haider

As a longtime user of Arrae I was so excited to bring on my friend Siff Haider to talk about how she launched a brand targeting something so many of us deal with - bloat. Siff’s approach to the brand and her intentionality around creating safety for ALL bodies, including those who have struggled with eating disorders - is one of the reasons I fell in love. We get into ALL of that. We also discuss how creatorship/influencing isn’t often trusted or taken seriously and why she and her co-founder (& husband) Nish decided to invest back into influencer marketing with trust. This conversation is so great for anyone who’s dealt with digestive embarrassments, curious about creatorship, or investing in social media while growing a brand! Special Episode: BODEQUALITY Chats With Katie Sturino!

Old Navy recently announced their new BODEQUALITY shopping experience, with integrated shopping for all different bodies and sizes, at all the same price. Unless you’ve ever been plus-size, you may not even be aware of how those above a size 12 shop! The world has been separating shopping experiences for so long, and catering to a singular mold of woman along the way. Katie Sturino joins us to discuss how she got into fashion and modelling looks on her own body, inspired by the celeb looks we see online and in magazines. Katie shares her experiences shopping in NYC and only finding ONE store out of 10 stores that carried her size. We discuss the statistics of women and body size, and how even the average women is not even catered to. The One With Model Citizens Michaela & Hunter McGrady

With an actor father and a model mother, it’s no wonder sisters Hunter &Michaela McGrady ended up in the entertainment industry. But they didn’t just end up in it, they completely shook it up. You may recognize Hunter from a little something called Sports Illustrated, as she was the curviest model to ever appear in their iconic Swimsuit Edition. But, Hunter didn’t begin as a plus size model, beginning her career at a size 2 and finding peace and acceptance for herself in a larger body AND a booming career. Best friend & sister Michaela, curve/plus model herself, is living life in LA with a career in modelling of her own while helping women embrace themselves every step of the way. Together, they cohost the Model Citizen podcast, where they talk about anything and everything. Today we sit down to talk about Main Character Energy, the modelling industry, clothes shopping, the silence after having a baby about your body, and the very recent loss of their little brother. The One About Community > Charity With Mamas For Mamas Founder Shannon

After her father’s sudden passing, Shannon was left with an inheritance that allowed her to take a community Facebook page into Canada’s first non-profit born and run on social media. Mamas for Mamas is a now a national charitable organization that supports mothers and caregivers (including men, trans, non-binary, and two-spirit clients in crisis) by providing ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles. This includes emotional poverty. Whether needing support, or wanting to give it, Mamas for Mamas is meant to bridge the gap and make sure that no child or mama is left behind, if Mamas for Mamas can help it. This is an emotionally charged and honest conversation about how charity doesn’t solve poverty but community does. The One About Twin Birth & Pandemic Pregnancy With Ariana Joy Christie

Today we welcome one of my best friends onto the podcast, Ariana! After discovering we were both pregnant and due within months of each other, we had plans, BIG plans, for how this would look and be for each of us. A pandemic... had other plans. For Ariana, this was her first birth, and a birth of twins, who came premature when she went into labour on her birthday. The rollercoaster of emotions, and the reality that was a twin birth, a month in NICU and so much more was something I wanted to sit down and talk with her about, unpack, and share in the moments of it all. I’m so happy she came on and opened up her story to us today.    Ariana is newly documenting her story as a twin mom on social media as well, on IG @Ariana_Joy_Christie     For listeners of the show, Dipsea is offering an extended 30 day free trial when you go to DipseaStories.com/papaya.   Visit pipettebaby.com and get 30% off with code papaya.   Learn more about Vega at myvega.ca or for our American folks, visit myvega.com   Produced by Dear Media. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The One About Self Advocacy With Amin Jaswal

Amin Jaswal was in her 20’s when she began to realize something was off and was dismissed by doctors repeatedly. Until one day, in pain and frustration, she took herself to the ER, only to find out she had cancer. Cervical cancer to be exact. Passionate to share her story, normalize discussions around discharge, and discomforts, Amin joins us today to share what life looks like when you’re young, single, and have cancer. There is love, romance, and loss in life… and Amin took time to write down her emotions into poetry. Now, a book, A Light Within My Light (preorder April 12 2021). The One Where We Learn About Diet & Food Myths With Dr. Joshua Wolrich

Dr. Joshua Wolrich (or as I call him, Dr. Josh) made a name for himself on social media as a doctor willing to speak out on subjects like diet myths (aka “nutribollocks” as he calls them) as well as weight stigma and food insecurities and so much more. After he himself went through a weight loss journey to discover a lot of the deceptions within diet culture, Dr. Josh then took those experiences to lead him into learning more and breaking down a lot of diet myths, like “good” or “bad” foods, since food holds no morality. This conversation is meant to make us think, learn, or unlearn while we also share the commonalities within our own experiences with weight loss and diet culture. With his new book Food Isn’t Medicine, Dr. Josh is here to push back against the mass amounts of bad health advice, with just a bit of humour of course, too.   About the book: “Food Isn't Medicine wades through nutritional science (both good and bad) to demystify the common diet myths that many of us believe without questioning. If you have ever wondered whether you should stop eating sugar, try fasting, juicing or 'alkaline water', or struggled through diet after diet (none of which seem to work), this book will be a powerful wake-up call. Drawing on the latest research and delivered with a dose of humour, it not only liberates us from the destructive belief that weight defines health but also explains how to spot the misinformation we are bombarded with every day.”   You can follow Dr. Joshua Wolrich on Instagram @DrJoshuaWolrich and find his book on preorder now, coming out on April 15, 2021.   Head over to goodnightsleepsite.com to book your complimentary 15-minute discovery call with a Good Night Sleep Site consultant and start your journey towards sleep success.   Visit pipettebaby.com and get 30% off with code papaya.   ShesBirdie is offering our listeners 15% off your first purchase when you go to ShesBirdie.com/PAPAYA.   Produced by Dear Media.  See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The One About A Successful Sexless Marriage With Jorja Lindley

Get ready, we’re about to talk about vaginas… a lot. After delivering her son 6 years ago, Jorja was given what many know to be “the husband stitch” (yes, you may roll your eyes) but this led Jorja into an entirely different postpartum narrative than the ones we normally hear of and discuss. Jorja’s story will lead us all down a road of  being advocates for our down under bits, speaking up for our pain and our pleasure, and finding intimacy in new places. With many women experiencing pain during sex (with our without childbirth) and staying quiet about it, we hope this conversation leads to some really life-changing thoughts and conversations. So let’s talk about womanhood, break down societal ideals and have meaningful REAL conversations around sex in marriage and like...what “sex” even means anyways.  You can follow Jorja @AlwaysGeorge on Instagram   Produced by Dear Media.
