He has worked in the US, and in Asia and is currently General Manager of The Four Seasons Hotel in Bejing, China. It was his personal curiosity with Asia that first drew him there after his first trip in 2002, when he was blown away by the experience, and the technological advancements  and designs he saw. He has now lived in Asia for 15 years, and he even speaks some Mandarin. He had to adapt as an outsider trying to fit in, and says he became far more culturally aware, and become less direct and change to work in Asia with sensitivity. Poda feels hospitality is a business firmly anchored in Europe, and in North America he feels they are stronger in terms of sales and marketing, but in Asia there is the human component and a lot more people oriented. He  says the world has become smaller, and that the hospitality business is far more connected.
