Visiting the Banff Gondola, Mount Royal Hotel and the Golden Skybridge

We took a short road trip to Golden BC to spend an afternoon checking out the Golden Skybridge. Plus stayed a couple of nights at the Mount Royal Hotel in the town of Banff and while we were in Banff we took a ride up the famous Banff Gondola to take in some of the breathtaking views atop Sulphur Mountain so in this episode we’ll play the conversations we had with the folks from the Banff Jasper Collection who hosted us. First we’ll play our chat with David Barbour, the GM of the Banff Gondola who tells about behind how the Banff Gondola began and what you need to know when visiting the Banff Gondola. One of the historic buildings located  right on Banff Avenue is the Mount Royal Hotel so while staying there we met up with the VP of Operations for the Banff Jasper Collection, Alex Grant who shared some of the colorful past of the hotel. Then later we’ll share our adventure in Golden BC checking out the Golden Skybridge, which is way more than a suspension bridge with spectacular views stretched over the Columbia Valley.

Revisiting the St Eugene Golf Resort and Casino and the Mob Museum

On our first podcast of 2022 we replay a couple of my personal highlights of 2021. One was staying at the St Eugene Golf Resort and Casino in Cranbrook, BC. It was there I got to meet and talk with Sophie Pierre, former Chief of the A’qam First Nation and Board Chair of the St Eugene Golf Resort and Casino. It’s a two part interview where we talked about her experience of being a former student at St Eugene when it was a residential school and how it transformed from a residential school to the resort it is today. The other highlight in 2021 for me was traveling to Las Vegas where I got to tour the Mob Museum in Las Vegas and learn about the history of the power struggle between the mob, law enforcement and Las Vegas. It’s a fascinating place and a tour I highly recommend when in Vegas. St Eugene Golf Resort and Casino and the Cranbrook History Centre

In this episode, we took a short road trip to Cranbrook BC, staying at the St Eugene Golf Resort and Casino. It’s all about the province of Prince Edward Island where I spent some time and got the chance to tour some of the smaller communities near Charlottetown, such as Summerside, North Rustico, and Victoria. As well as the North Cape area, Skinners Pond and West Cape. We ate lots of seafood, drank some local craft beer, took in a couple of Fall Flavor Events and met a lot of very nice people. We also spent a night at the West Point Lighthouse Inn, a place rumored to be haunted. Plus we’ll also play a couple of conversations we had.
