In Nigeria, almost everyone within that age bracket is retired. She is the first person ever to set up an organization and shelter in Nigeria, to help women and young girls who are victims of Domestic Violence. Domestic violence is a battle that we all must continue to fight. I was watching the news a few weeks ago, and they were talking about a lady who was pissed that even though her kids didn’t make it to the top 3 in a competition, they didn’t get trophies. So she decided to buy trophies for them by herself. It got me thinking, are we (especially the people outside Africa) raising our kids to be too emotional? Are we raising them to be able to handle the real world? I don’t know about you, but I will raise my kids in the African way. We have some very great schools in Africa, but a majority of the schools, especially those funded by the government; aren’t the best. So you can imagine my shock when I hear that some students in this First World Country complained about ‘their rights being violated, and the school authorities not caring about them’ because their SODAS had been reduced, and they were given more vegetables at their FREE lunch. We have seen a rise in the appreciation of Dark Skin. Women are proud of their black skin and their amazing melanin. However, we have once again lost the narrative because now, dark skin is the only acceptable form of African skin. According to today's standards, if you aren't dark then you aren't truly African. In This Episode: “My 4 year old told me he is gay” … How can a 4-year-old, who hasn’t been involved in any sexual activity know his sexual preference? These are the exact thoughts that came to my mind when I heard a couple on TV make that statement. What could this child have been exposed to? What have these parents allowed their child to see or even do? When my kids were much younger, we had this ongoing battle about sleepovers. They always got invited to different people’s houses for sleepovers, but I wasn’t a fan of the idea.
